Does anyone know what special characters/entertainment/activities are planned on board for the premiere?

Have heard that they are having special characters/entertainment/activities onboard?

Generally, for PremEARS at Sea, there is just a special showing at midnight opening day. Unless they do something on the Star Wars specific cruises, maybe? Those are on the Fantasy, but they don't start until 2016.

For me, who will be on the Dec. 12-19 Fantasy cruise, I honestly don't know if we'll get to see the movie at 12:01am on Dec. 18. The DCL website, in describing the upcoming Star Wars Day cruises that begin in January 2016, indicates exclusive showings of Episode VII... "With the only at-sea screenings of Episode VII, this event will thrill Padawans (Jedi in training) and Jedi Masters in every family. It is ... your destiny."

This suggests that there won't be a PremEAR at Sea on Dec. 18, or any showings of Episode VII on any ship thereafter, except the Star Wars Day cruises that begin on Jan. 9 through April 16.

This all seems a bit strange to me, and don't understand the novelty of the only screenings during these cruises. Considering, if families booked these cruises for the Star Wars events/characters/etc., then they're fans of Star Wars, and I don't suspect too many people will be waiting specifically for those cruises to see the movie, because the first cruise isn't until 3 weeks after the nationwide release, and of course all the ones thereafter are that much more further out.

I haven't seen anything yet that either confirms or denies DCL's plans for Episode VII. Maybe I'm just misinterpreting that quote from the DCL website. :teacher::scared:

I read that as Episode VII will only be shown at sea on Disney ships. So they can still have the premear at sea on Dec 18, but no other cruiselines will be showing the movie, therefore "the only at-sea screenings" are on Disney.

A "screening" isn't necessarily a "premiere", just a showing.

We are on the Fantasy Dec 19-26....I am crossing my fingers that it will be showing on the cruise. Star Wars, Christmas and Disney!! What else could I ask for?!?

I did receive confirmation, via email, from DCL that they are planning on releasing Star Wars Episode VII on all Disney ships on Dec. 18.
