I keep hearing some people like it others don't.

Is it any difference from normal places to eat?

Thanks

I like the food. I remember not being too crazy about the food court when I was there last year...however, me and dh were just there last month and we really enjoyed the food court. I mean, it's nothing special for breakfast but I really like the double cheeseburgers and the ribs for dinner. I would stay away from the pizza. also, i like the pofq food court better because it's smaller. oh, and i'm not sure if the riverside food court has this...but if they do, get a bananna split! They are expensive but worth every penny. (actually, I innocently asked if they were part of the snack plan because I didn't know how much they were (i think it was like $5) and the cm apologized and said it wasn't. Well I was completely ready to pay, it didn't bother me, and he was like, "i'll give it to you just this once" that made it extra good!)

I went to POR this July. The food court is a typical place. The food is not great, but I have yet to find a wonderful food court at Disney. We chose to eat most of our meals at the parks and go to the food court for snacks. They did have a nice selection of individual items you could buy like pasta salad, jello, fruit etc. At night we would go get an ice cream or cookie.

We loved Boatwrights, and have made special trip back to Boatwrights just to get there sweet potato pancakes.

My dh, sister and I all love breakfast at Boatwrights. We prefer breakfast over the dinner.

The food court at POR has a variety. Depends on what you like, I guess. We didn't mind it at all. It is divided into several sections. One is a bakery where they sell cookies, brownies, cake, ice cream, milkshakes and sundae type of things. Another is a "mexican-barbeque" ... on one side you can get taco salds and different type of larger salads, on the other side you can get ribs, mac and cheese, potatoes and gravy, corn, etc. Then there is a grill area where you can get chicken fingers, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, french fries, etc. The final one is a Italian area where you can get spaghetti, breadsticks, pizza, mac and cheese, etc. And then there is a open area that has breads, cold drinks and fruits, snacks, cheese, etc.

Of course, for breakfast it is all different. The bakery remains open and I think they might have cinnamon rolls, also. The gril area offers hotcakes, bacon, etc. And, I think they have like hot sandwiches (like at McDonalds) ... we didn't do breakfast there very often so I am not much help. I know they put out boxes of cereal you can buy and have bananas and apples and oranges out on a cart (all the time) plus yogurt and fruits. They also have oatmeal and I believe grits...and I think they might have an area that dishes up eggs, hasbrowns, meats, etc. Can't really remember.

Hope that helps. It isn't anything spectaculr but we definitely found it tolerable. Ate most of our meals at other hotels and at the parks since we really like buffets for the variety. But we enjoyed the food court at POR and also POFQ. They both have things we liked and didn't like but it is a close 10 minute walk between the two so both are easy to use. The refillable mugs can be used at either place.

I think the food is good , not great. Definitely not bad. I do love the taco salad at POR and the beneigts(?) at FQ.

Does anyone know what time the food court opens in the morning? We'll be leaving the resort at 8:15AM to catch a flight home and would love to grab a bite to eat!
*We will only be at POR 1 night(post cruise)!

We've never had "bad" food at POR, except my son didn't care for his catfish at Boatwrights. The breakfast at Boatwrights is OUTSTANDING, best I've ever had.

Just back from POR and we thought the food court and Boatwrights Restaurant were very good. We ate cesaer salads, quesadillas, subs, breakfast muffins at the food court. Many of the places have breakfast items like muffins and egg plates. There was an area where you can purchase side salads, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit bowls, etc. also. We really liked the size of the seating area. It offered plenty of privacy. Boatwrights has an excellent breakfast. I loved their Crescent City toast.
