We are leaving hopefully on april 29, sat, and hoping to return on monday may 8. We have been looking for flights and possibly found one this week. It left early at 9am and arrived at 4 pm non stop on america west. One hold up was the monday return flight cost about 63 more than the return would be on sat or tues, which is what we had been debating.

Tonight when i checked the flight, the 9 am flight cost doubled!! The cheap flight now leaves at 12pm and arrives at 7pm, so we would lose 3 hours at wdw,and basically have no time that day for anything if we land at 7pm and try to get checked in.

Now what do we do?? Leaving the night before cost just as much, and we were already up in the air on the return, whether to come home the following sat and save 63 each in airfare + another 300 in rooms fees for the last 2 night we would not be there that we paid for, or stay another day until tuesday, save 63 in airfare each, but spend another 300 in rooms for 1 last night and have to be at the airport at 7am. If we leave like we want on monday, it the extra 63 in airfare each times 6.

We really would love to fly delta, but they seem to have cut back on their flights from phoenix in april/may, and the lowest is still about 400 rt!! Want to use delta since we have 2-$125 vouchers to use if we can, but will settle for another cheaper airline.

Do not want to fly swa, since you dont get assigned seats, and after watching Airline on A&E, i think ill pass on southwest, even though the have the same price as america west, just not worth it i dont think.

What in the world should we do?? Any chance fares will go back down as it gets closer? Am i panicking too soon???

Help me!!

The moral of the story is if you find a good rate book it!!! You will find many fans of Southwest. I fly quite often and have never seen things happen like they show on the show. Of course they are going to show you the most entertaining people but it real life it just isn't like that.

I've been flying only SW for years now and have yet to see in person any of the antics that are on the show. Safetymom is right, the show is only the odd stuff. If they showed what normally happens, who'd watch? I always check in early and almost always get A passes. Got a B a couple of times and a C once, but that time I checked in just before the flight.

If it's cheaper, go with Southwest. I've flown them several times. Never had any problems that weren't run of the mill. As long as you check in early you'll have a seat.

I wonder how many people see Airline and choose not to fly SW? You just have to realize that those are the worst case scenarios and they show them for entertainment purposes.

Try Jetblue as well, when we booked with them we got to select our seats.
Good luck.

I dont get the big deal of not having an assigned seat. You go, you wait in line. You sit. big deal if your in the back of the plane.

I doubt that if it realley came down to it, no one in your family would have to sit by them selves. Some one will switch seats.

You have posted on this before. Basically the responses were the same, airfares as a general rule increase as you get closer to your date.

I agree with other posters, I would look into SWA. Sounds to me like you could be paying dearly for reserved seats!
