The First Teaser for Disney's 'Cinderella'

Calling all Cinderella fans!

Disney has released the first live-action teaser trailer for the upcoming Cinderella flick and it's a seriously teaser, considering it features a glass slipper and, well, not much else.

The trailer begins with a close-up image of the shoe as the camera zooms out to highlight the shining crystal before a sparkling butterfly lands perfectly atop Cinderella's fancy footwear.


And yes, that's pretty much it.

Disney's live interpretation of the classic tale is being directed by Kenneth Branagh, who played Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and will also star Cate Blanchett as the iconic evil stepmother. It was also revealed last month that that Downton Abbey actress Lily James has been cast as the beloved princess.

Helena Bonham Carter will star as the Fairy Godmother, while Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden will take on the role of Cinderella's Prince Charming.
The fantasy flick hits theaters March 13, 2015.

"Shoenistas"-eat your heart out. You know who you are. The heavily star-studded cast means that this Cinderella film is a big budget production that will go on to become another blockbuster hit for Disney in 2015.

i'm sure this will be a big time movie. i have to admit i'm tired of helena bonham carter, but at least tim burton isn't directing it

It will be interesting to see if HBC can pull off a 'nice' character... I am not her biggest fan by any means, but she did do a great Bellatrix... however I do not associate her with sweet and kind like I imagine the Fairy Godmother to be.

I enjoy HBC, she plays her parts well. She did a great job as Queen of Hearts. Anyway to the other point, Disney is going to go all in for this movie. There is no way they would let a classic like Cinderella flunk. Not that it cant, but they are going to try their best to make it work.

Obviously you've never seen her in Room with a View or her earlier films. I've LOVED her ever since her break out role in Lady Jane. I'm glad to see her return to a good rather than evil character!

I have to say that I'm a huge Downton fan and think the casting of Lily James as Cinderella is perfect. I'm looking forward to Maleficent and I am NOT a fan of Angelina Jolie, so I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to a movie where I like the actors!
