I had a great time at WDW July 7-15. Family didn't think the crowds nor the heat were that bad.

My only gripe was the finger scan. EVERY single time I went into a park the scan wouldn't work for me. I had pictures taken about 4 times, checked my AP at Guest Relations but nothing worked. This got to be a pain in the neck. CM's asked me to put more sweat on my fingers, dry my fingers, use my other hand, put on a band-aid and paint it with a black Sharpie----it got ridiculous.

I should note that the rest of my family didn't have as many problems with this as I did.

there is a real knack to getting it right the first time.. after that.. its a breeze!

Either that or you have funny fingers!!

My DH has problems sometimes - i never ever do...

We didn't have any problems with it except one time that it wouldn't work with our 10 yr old. They just told us to go ahead and not worry about it. I'm guessing they didn't care as much since it was child(even if not by disney ticket standards).

They told you to go to Guest $Relations and wait in line there to have this resolved?

Ask for a set of use-anywhere-anytime fast passes for the whole family for each 45 minutes or fraction you all spent waiting.

They should have a finger scanner at Guest Relations so they can reset the pass, watch you do a new "first time finger scan" and watch you do additional finger scans to see how it "catches" rather than let the problem recur in the field.

I experienced the same thing when we went in Jan 2005. I had the pass "re-set" or whatever term they used 6 times in the 10 days we were there and they just couldn't get it right. I had to present my drivers license and room key every time I entered a park. It got to be REALLY annoying. Most of the CMs were nice about it, but it was just a hassle when you're standing there with 3 kids...

Slide your fingers all the way in until they stop. Then squeeze your fingers together around the post inside. That's all it has taken for me and I've been doing it for several years now with a PAP.

What a waste of time! They should have told you to stand on your head while writing on your hand with the Sharpie in your teeth! POOF! Problem solved. :teeth:

One time mine said it wasnt me and the cm is like is that your card i was like yea let me see i thought i might have picked up someone else's in the room but nope it was mine.

The only problem we had with the finger scan was a CM who didn't want to let my 10 yr old DS use his proper ticket because as she put it he was "too little" to have that kind of ticket. He IS small but doesn't like it being announced in public. By the time I asked her if she needed ID, his finger scan had gone through and he was in the gate.
