Anyone watching on ABC? I think this show is gonna be awesome. :D The family they picked seemed to be perfect for it.

I've been trying to watch but have been busy with other things also. It does seem good though and can't wait to see how it turns out.

I really liked this show. It is very amusing. and I agree that they seemed to pick the perfect family for this show.
I'm glad the Secret Board of Trustees (aka the house staff) kept Mike in the running for the $$. He seems so far to be an over all nice guy. I don't like the Aunt...a little to bossy.

Just want you to know that not everyone in New Jersey acts like that family!!!! YIKES!! My DH and I liked the show--we spent the entire hour laughing !! George Hamilton was sooooooo funny--and the household staff was a scream!!

Minutes of it, and I think I am hooked! Anyway, I ALWAYS Liked George Hamilton, the guy NEVER ages, and WHAT is he, 70??

I watched it & kinda liked it though the accents were seriously getting on my nerves.

Dh and I were watching last night, and I made the comment that it's almost like "Beverly Hillbillies" -- you know, a family totally out of their element? He remembered that one of the networks had actually planned a reality show based on BH, and wondered if that had been too non-PC and had evolved into this one?

I watched also. George Hamilton makes a perfect host. I think there will be alot of back stabbing and many funny moments.

I thought the show was hysterical! I think it is going to be one of the more interesting reality shows, certainly better than those train wrecks married by America and I'm a Celebrity--Get me out of Here. I really like Mike as well, and I kind of felt sorry for Dawn Marie at times. I loved when the butler was dragging the luggage up the stairs and when Aunt Donna was trying the tell the chef what she needed to make pasta sauce. It will be interesting to see how they treat the staff, and whether or not they catch on to the fact that they are the "board" who is voting them off.

I watched it, but fell asleep right before they were picking who to vote out. I'm glad they kept Mike. I didn't think George Hamilton was a good host - his lines seem so "delivered" and not as if he was having a conversation with them.

We watched it as well. It seems like it's going to be funny, but I cannot help but think of how it propogates the NJ myths. I just kept sitting there saying to the tv " we all do not speak that way/act that way/think that way." BUT.. I have to confess, I laughed quite a bit and it kept me watching. Guess that was the poing of choosing a family like that. Looks like a winner.

I agree with you thelk4 - I think George Hamilton was too busy acting, and talking to the camera, and not talking to the family. But I still like the show. And, I like Mike too. Aunt Donna seems like a real......(what word can I use?).....annoying person.

The show was very very funny. The family is perfect. I love the way the servants/Board of Directors talked about the contestants. This show has a great deal of potential.

Patricia and PKK, I agree with your postings. Once the show started I turned to DH and said"Oh no, New Jersey is going to be stereotyped again!"
I think they are mean to gang up on the one cousin because they dont consider him "family" He seems like the nicest one of the bunch!

LOVED IT!!! I know way too many people who actually speak like that (myself included on occasion when my Bronx roots act up!) But I wondered if the rest of the country would find the family annoying instead of funny because they are so true to life!

When "AUNT" Donna was telling the chef she needed "rrrri gut" (colloquial for ricotta cheese) the look on the chef's face was priceless! Also her explaination for the meat she needed was also sooo funny. I hope the show does well.

LOL Princess Dot! I knew she wanted ricotta because that's how my best friend's Italian mom pronounces it. I thought the whole scene with the chef was really funny.
