So our last trip was years ago and kids were 14, 8, and 5. We stayed at CBR and fit fine with the Murphy bed/2queens.

The plan is a 2022 trip which means my children have grown drastically. I am always trying to be budget concious, but can we still fit in a CBR room? Lol even now picturing my 13 and 11 year old sharing a bed...19 year old on Murphy.

Should I look into two room at a value, or suite at AOA? We've stayed at the AOA before, when it opened so was lower priced. We loved it, but again that is the table bed, so boys squished together.

We truly only sleep in the rooms, but would love to hear how other families with mostly teenagers have adjusted.

I’d either go with 2 values, fort wilderness cabin, or family suite at all star music(assuming all star music is open by then). The Murphy bed is probably not big enough for your 19 year old like the other poster said.

Ooh I did not know all star had family suites. We've never stayed there. Plan is August 2022, so I'm guessing it will be open by than....off to research, thanks 😊

Just make sure you check for the renovated music family suites, as there is quite a difference between the old and the updated ones!

We purchased dvc when my boys hit middle school and were too big to share a regular disney room comfortably. With dvc, we can book larger villas so everyone has some space and their own bed.

So knowing you know your kids best and what they'll tolerate and for how long they can tolerate it too matters. If your trip is short and you think your kids are flexible, then I'd say go for it so long as your 19 year old isn't tall, and by tall I mean over 5' LOL!! I am 5'2"/120lb and fit on the pull downs but they're not that comfortable and while my 12 year old loves the pull downs, can't see her being thrilled with that situation at 19. We are just a foursome and on our weeklong CBR trip last year, my girls were 13 and 12 and they didn't share the bed. A week of sharing and they would have been miserable. One is a kicker/mover and the other is a lighter sleeper. I'd feel bad with them being tired after long days and then dealing with poor sleep.

TBH while the DVC studios work for us and so do the under TV pull downs, any trip that's longer than 3 nights, I have been thinking we'd do a DVC 1 bedroom at Riviera to get some extra space and keep everyone in their own beds. The Fort Wilderness Cabins could be an option and aren't super pricy and the two value rooms isn't a bad option but you have to use the correct request for your rooms to have connecting vs adjoining rooms. I have seen a number of people on here mentioned that they requested adjoining/connecting rooms and WDW messed up their request, but they learned they requested the wrong room type.

There is a difference between connecting rooms (with an internal door between them) and adjoining rooms (that are simply next to each other). All the Disney resort hotels have a limited number of rooms that connect, but obviously have many rooms that adjoin. And the worse part is that it's just a request and while disney always try to accommodate I don't think they can guarantee anything.

I think the Murphy bed 5th sleeper at CBR would only work if under 5'4 or 5'3...we personally love Fort Wilderness but have never stayed in the cabins. Art of Animation is a nice option if 2 kids don't mind sharing a bed. We stayed there in 2015. My parents had the bedroom, my husband and I had the Murphy bed and my sister and her husband had the pullout couch. AoA suite, All-star family suite, and the cabins were all similar in price.

Check the Swalphin, I think they have a deal where you get a discount for a 2nd room. It may be comparable to CBR $$.

I would recommend looking at renting DVC points and getting a 1 or 2 BR villa. The amount of space you seem to need sound like this could be a great fit. And when you have a villa, you can also order groceries, having breakfast/lunch in the villa, which will help you save money and offset the cost of the villa!
