For those of you who followed my PTR, I am SO sorry I was so slow in starting this! I hope some of you will still read along!
Just a quick intro to get started.
Who:
ME: 25, I'm a stay-at-home mom to my babies, which makes me happier than anything in the world.
DH: 25, soon to be 26, drives a truck for FedEx, probably more disney obsessed than the rest of us put together. He's the best dad I've ever met and spends every moment he's not working with the kids.
DS: AKA J.J. or Jay, 3 years, 11 months on our trip. He's a crazy fireball of energy, this one. He knew he loved disney before we got there. And he was right. He loves Chip and Dale. A squeak under 40 inches, to DH's disappointment.
DD: AKA Sydney or Syd, turned 18 months on our trip. She's trouble. She's a serious climber, and the most stubborn person I've met. Which comes into play. She loves pink, and the princesses. She calls every one of them "Rella" like Cinderella.
Grandma: My mom came with us for the first half of our trip. She's 60, and likes disney, but not like the rest of us. She wasn't able to come on any of our past trips, so this was her first time seeing disney with the babies.
What: We were going to WDW, of course! Facelessly, because we have some people to protect the children from. But we took over 1000 faceless pictures, so this won't be a picture-lite trip report.
Where: Staying at Pop Century.
Why: Well, to go, obviously. The brief version of "we deserved it" is that it's been a rough two years since our last trip. I got pregnant with Sydney because we knew my dad had cancer (he had surgery and we believed they got it all) and I knew that cancer often comes back, so I wanted him to have as much time with as many of his grandchildren as possible. My pregnancy with Sydney was difficult (I'm always high risk, but I started bleeding with her at 17 weeks) and my dad died 6 weeks before she was born...she was born on what would have been his 64th birthday. We moved in with my mom a month after she was born because my mother was caring for my grandmother, who had alzheimers and dementia, couldn't walk alone, and needed help with pretty much everything, so we moved in to help her. Plus, to be honest, we didn't want her to be lonely. This past September, Sydney had surgery for a cyst (at 15 months), and my Grandmother died. So, we were ready for a vacation!
When: October 28-November 7th.
Thank you for reading along!
