The exchange rate is looking good today

Just got $$ 1.9508 to the ££ from Ulster bank in N.Ireland.. you can change upto ££ one thousand for a flat rate of ££ 3 quid... They are also doing TCs at 1.96 for any amount but charge one %..... just got the cash for now ;) ..!!

we dont go until May, I've changed £450 so far because its high normally I wouldnt take anymore cash than that because we tend to use our cards but I dont know what to do!

Change more or not?! :confused3 is there a limit to the amount of cash you can take into the country?

I seem to recall the cash limit is about $10k which should be plenty!

If you go regularly may be worth looking at Citibank and opening a $ account. I have one and exchange when the rate is good and get interest on the savings and then a debit card to use in US - it works great for me. Even the exchange rate seems to be good as it is always nearer the business rate than the tourist rate.

My parents have a US bank account although I don't think its citibank. I might look into it seems to make sense! :thumbsup2

I would if you can - the rate hasn't been this good for about 14 years! This time last year we were getting 20 cents less per £, so it does make a big difference.

I did pay my annual dues early and in fact did the same last year. You can in fact credit your account with a much as you want if you really thought it was going to crash and you had the money spare you could pay next years as well!!! Of course DVC get the interest and you don't so it is a gamble.

We have 520 points so it could be quite a bit to save.

Susan

I just paid my annual dues - we have 370 points. Using my Nationwide CC I got 1.96 to the £.
:goodvibes
