I had wondered if hormones had played a part in them getting back together. Perhaps she was feeling a little lonely, being a young single mom, not having a boyfriend, dates, or any "relations". Feeling this may be her life now forever. Easier to land him than someone new if you know what I mean.

I think it is way better for the baby to not have parents who don't love each other trying to raise it in the same place. Kids can sense stress and tension. I left my now ex husband when my daughter was 2 and I don't regret it for one moment. She was young enough so she doesn't even remember all of us living under the same roof. It's very outdated to think that in order for a child to be happy they need two parents living under the same roof.

At the risk of saying "Me too"...I totally agree. I am not going on a rant on how our society has a fascination with this stuff (and I know who these kids are too, so I'm as guilty as anyone) but doesn't know about important things that happen. It makes me pull my hair out when kids know who Kim Kardashian is, but have no idea who Stephen Hawking is - they're both on television at least 1x a week!

I wish these kids luck, and I don't envy their love lives being part of the public spectacle...then again, they've kind of set themselves up for it so some of the blame is on their own shoulders.

I'm sorry, I don't think it's outdated to be sad that a child doesn't have parents who are happily married (or even happily together). I didn't say anything about not loving each other and staying together just for the kids. Please don't put words in my mouth.
