 We are planning a trip during the last week in April. This should be after Spring Break (I hope) - has anyone been to DW at this time of year? How manageble will the crowds be and what's the weather usually like?

We went this past April. We were there the last week of April to the first part of May. We loved it! We had always been in the summer with the kids and this was our first trip without them! (now 19 and 22). We found the weather to be warm, but not as hot as the summer and evenings were great - mid 60's. This was the first week after Spring breaks and we thought the crowds were quite manageable, although there were tons of pre-school aged kids. I think the most we waited was 15 minutes. The day we did Epcot, we got there right at opening (9:00) and headed over to Test Track. We rode it twice by 9:45, which we thought was pretty good. That evening the wait was quite long for it though - 90 minutes I think. We were given a Fast Pass by someone who was leaving and when we went to use it, the Fast Pass line had a 30 minute wait, so we left. I am assuming there was some kind of break down that caused the back up. We are going for a long weekend the end of September, so we'll see how we like it then, by so far, late April/early May is our new favorite time to go!:Pinkbounc

Glad to hear you enjoy that time of year - Thanks for the input!!:D

I think you will enjoy it then. Where in NH are you from? My sister lives in Alton Bay, the southern tip of Lake Winnepausakee (or however you spell it!)

We have been a few times during April vaca. We are planning to go again next April. The weather is great, perfect for swimming etc. A welcome change for New Englanders like ourselves!

We're from Northern NH - Berlin - north of Mt. Washington...even at the end of April we still could be in the middle of snow!! DW will be a nice escape!!

Hello fellow NH people!

I agree that April is GREAT time to go. The weather is perfect and the crowds are managable by the time (NH) goes on school vacation.

We've driven down twice now and are planning again for April 2005. The weather was always in the high 80's to low 90's and it only rained once and it was at night. April has the lowest percentage of rainfall.

Typhoon Lagoon was the highlight of the trip for everyone, believe it or not, my kids preferred it to the parks:rolleyes: My DH and I really loved it too.

You won't regret April, you'll have a wonderful time.

Poohbear2 - I am also in Manchester:D If you have kids, I wonder if we are in the same school system? PM/email me sometime :D Just saw a post your a 6th grade science teacher...I wonder if you'll have my DD this year.

Sounds like we have lucked into a good time to go. Does anyone else have good/bad things to say about late April?

Mid to late April is our favorite time to go. It's great to get away from the still cold northern weather. Daytime is great for water parks & evenings are usually warm. Normally there is very little rain--although one year we did have rain probably 3 days of our 9 day trip. We love Epcot & it's extra nice that the Flower & Garden Festival & the wonderful Flower Power concerts are going on then. We'll be back the 16th to 26th, ourselves. Have a great trip!!
