The Elusive BOG Reservation

I currently have about a month until I'm in WDW, and I'm beyond excited. However, my niece has spoken to her friends at school about Disney and found out about BOG. She told me how excited she was to go there, and I had to explain to her that I couldn't get reservations, so we most likely wouldn't be able to eat there.

I've scouted the website for the past month, hoping to snag a reservation for lunch or dinner on Dec 7th because that's the day we have free.

On two occasions, I've been too slow to snag an open reservation with texts from touringplans.com. I'm beginning to wonder if it's even possible at all.

Anyone have any tips? Or should I just give up entirely on trying to get this reservation?

Don't give up keep checking the mde app. I just scored a breakfast ressie for bog this morning for my trip 11/22. I also have a dinner ressie for bog that I got no more than two weeks ago for the same day. I'm debating which to take eventually I will cancel one and tons of people are on the same boat so all those ressies open up.

Start checking a few days before you want to eat there. Lots of people drop reservations a day or two out. As an example, at the moment there is a lunch available tomorrow and the next day that wasn't available a few months ago.

Check out the cancellation thread on Disboards, someone seems to be cancelling a BOG ADR almost everyday. You may be lucky and find one that matches your dates.

I've been checking the boards every few hours. This is literally driving me up a wall. I wish I could just find one so I didn't have to stress about it.

We have dinner there at 4pm and it takes a call on the 180 day window to get that. One year we needed a 7am Chef Mickey on a certain day and less than 48 hours before it became available. Lots of people (including us) over-book ADR's then cancel before they get charged. Don't be disheartened, keep trying while you are there too, one will come up and if you are not bothered whether it's breakfast/lunch/dinner you will be okay.

Unfortunately, we didn't book the trip until 3 months out, so we missed the window for our 180 days. :/ Now I feel like I'm scrapping bits just to get dinner ressies.

I had been too slow for the Touring Plans reservation finder too, but two days before my last trip I turned on text notifications and kept my phone on me all day, and managed to snag a BOG lunch ADR! Don't give up hope!

I know it's hard but you do really just have to keep scouring the reservation cancellation threads on here and checking the app/website.

Due to a glitch on the website and app when our 180+10 opened up we didn't get to book reservations until about 90 minutes after the window opened. Not everyone had troubles booking so some of the popular ones we wanted had been gone. I just had to stalk the website and it was just about getting lucky to be honest.

I agree about the touring plans checker, I know it is a beta but the second I got the email I would go on and it would be gone. People move fast on those!

I have had luck with TP reservation finder (text alerts) but I have also missed some too. I have gotten BOG lunch, Ohana dinner and Beaches and Cream dinner that way. Don't give up! I also have randomly signed on to the Disney app once or twice a day and did searches for dinner on our nights and I see all sorts of hard to get reservations pop up... it's all about luck in that case I'm afraid.

My point is don't give up and keep checking! Good luck!

Good luck. You may really still get it. You do have to be ready when TP texts you. Whatever you are doing, stop and get that ressie. Do not wait until you are finished doing what your doing. Remember there are other even on TP looking for the same date as you.

I also agree that you may start seeing movement closer to the date.

Let us know how you make out.

Good luck.

It will be very difficult to grab one this far out. You stand a better chance grabbing one a week or so before your trip

Must it be dinner? Dinner is the hardest meal to get, because they don't use the whole restaurant/all the tables/all the chairs. They book lunch and breakfast to building capacity.

I would recommend looking for lunch. No Beast, but easier to get.

Keep checking the website/app I was able to score a lunch reservation last night for 11/15.
Last year I got a dinner reservation the same day by checking the app. A lot of people cancel the night before as well!

I first picked up two reservations for one five minutes apart for breakfast 11/27. Then got a reservation for two through touring plans. I have also been tracking BOG to see how things open up. Every evening there are breakfast reservations open for the next day. I know it is hard to not have it planned but keep that in mind as well.

Also as things got nearer to the final payment date I saw more opening up. Neil Patrick Harris for CP had openings this week when last week there were none. Just keep checking.

We generally don't make reservations until the day before or day of. We prefer to just go with the flow. I say this because we have eaten at BoG (lunch specifically, but dinner once) several times and I even more reservations for BoG that we don't book. People cancel reservations all the time. In fact I just looked and there is a lunch and breakfast open for tomorrow. It may be a bit harder since you are locked into the date, but I'd look several times a day starting 2 days out and it's likely you'll find something.

NEVER GIVE UP!

Last night, Saturday, I picked up lunch at BOG for tomorrow, Monday, Halloween Day.

5-6 times I have given up a dinner ADR the week of, right up until the day before.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I have touring plans text alert set up for lunch and dinner. Breakfast for that day is a no go, because we're flying in that morning.

I posted this status right after I missed a 4:10 dinner res, even though as soon as I got the text I jumped on the site.

The other day we'all be in MK is a party day, so it feels like a waste getting a dinner res then.

The closer it gets to the trip, the more anxious I'm going to feel about this. I only hope that you are all correct!

I found when I have gottten my alert from TP that I had to put in the exact time or close to for it to show up. I wear looking for a Crystal Palace dinner (one of 2 places my son wanted) and got it last night while we were shopping. Pulled up app and had to put time that they said it was available for it to show up. Didn't show up when I just selected dinner for the time
