The "Dumbo or Die" Pre Trip report.. updated 9/5

Okay, so I just found this PTR! WooHoo! I may have to talk to my clan about changing our dates lol! We're still working on saving the money. Right now, we're planning to go the first of Sept. As I was reading through the first page I was hoping maybe we'd bump into each other, but as of right now we're Sept. 1-12. However, some friends of ours are going the end of Sept. also. (They homeschool too!) It would be cool to bump into each other there. We're staying off site this time. I opted for 12 days offsite with tickets from the YES program instead of 6 days onsite with Free Dining. We're also driving instead of flying this time. I'm a little bummed that we won't be doing ANY meals onsite (maybe a very occasional CS here or there but I doubt it.) It'll be all I can do just to get us there this trip.

I love your title though. I just called my 7 year old in here right before I came to this site (I was checking out the Y.E.S. programs )and trying to talk him into taking the Wild By Nature class with his sister instead of How Things Move so that we could ride Dumbo. His older brothers are taking a Physics World in Motion class that day and I thought it would give us an excellent opportunity for him to ride Dumbo, his sister to do the Tangled Meet n Greet, and meet princesses, and for Mommy to ride IASW and CoP!

So based on "Dumbo or Die" does that mean you got a Touring Plans subscription? I bought one for my friend who is taking her family. (A Disney gift from me!) But I am kinda interested in Ridemax now too.

Anyway, looking forward to following along. We aren't booked yet. It will probably be the first of April when we do.

yeah the "burden" of paying for this trip is all on my shoulders and my bartending skills..LOL.. it's also my choice to go again soo..lol

I do have Touring plans but the title comes from the fact that we never rode Dumbo in August.

We aren't doing any yes classes.. Maybe the next trip..lol

I didn't know you were heading back again in September! That will be fun for your family - and I'm guessing that the girlfriend has stayed out of the picture if she's not invited this time, ha! And, free dining - what luck!

I just started a PTR as well, for a possible June or August trip taking my two nephews and a niece. Still in the process of working everything out.

Yep..I want one more trip while my oldest still lives at home!

And yes..she is still well out of the picture.. his new GF is amazing..not the least bit crazy like the last!

Oh i will check the PTR out!!

Since so many of you know the nonsense with the old girlfriend on our trip I thought I'd introduce you to the NEW girl.

You may recognize her as she was with us also on the August trip. This gorgeous young lady happens to be my best friends oldest daughter. Noah and she have known each other their entire lives. This young lady has been to WDW at least once a year her entire life.. sometimes more. Her and Noah are so happy it's actually a little sicky sweet..LOL.

Not only is she no crazy, she's age appropriate and has a life and goals..unlike the crazy girl!

WooHoo! We all approve! Just kidding. But it is nice to know he just had one, shall we say, slip in judgement, when picking girlfriends!Cheers to the new girlfriend!

LOL..yes let's hope he learned from this and can skip the crazy girlfriends in the future..LOL

Noah will tell you though that he loves his girlfriend but the fact her mom and I are best friends of 30 years does make it a touch crazy..LOL

I have been reading your trip report, and it is so compelling! Haha

I kept thinking Noah should dump his girlfriend and date the other girl in the pictures... Because she actually seemed happy! It's funny that actually happened!

hee hee hee.. the two of them having been dancing around dating since they were like 13 .. one would like the other and the other would either not be interested or be dating, then it would switch..it was laughable actually. So glad they are finally together!

Ok my mother decided the other day that she wants us to have Hopper Passes and she plans to pay for the upgrade..

So that makes my planning sooo much easier!!

Also we decided what day we are doing MNSSHP and such.. only 7.5 days until I can make ADR's!!

on another note..my 8 year old may have strep..again.. In Jan she had a double ear infection, strep and scarlet fever. Then 3 weeks ago the 6 year old had Strep and Scarlet fever..now Ziah has a sore throat and blisters in her tonsils..we go in at 5:30.. so not ready for this. My oldest had strep on and off for 3 months at 8 and had to have them removed.

Ooooh yuck. Strep is nasty. It makes you feel awful. I know having tonsils out is a huge expense that you'd love to avoid. But honestly, having them out could really help your seemingly ongoing Dr. bill. Good luck!

I am planning to talk to the PA today..but usually it's 5 times or 3 months before they will take em out. We actually have the most excellent health insurance so it wouldn't cost us anything to have them done.

Good insurance is so awesome. You would think working for a hospital mine would be great, but it isn't. Boo. Anyway, I hope you got the answers your looking for.

She def has strep..back on meds. One more time within the next few and we go see the ENT.. i am praying she doesn't get it again!

Having hoppers does make planning so much easier; what an awesome Mom to make the upgrade for you guys! :thumbsup2 She seemed like she was a trooper in your last TR and came and went as it worked for her. (Such a great perk to staying on-site!)

I just made my ADRs and was able to get everything I wanted...here's to hoping that you have the same luck! :) Can't wait to hear how it goes.

So sorry you've had lots of sick littles at your house lately. Hoping and praying they all feel better soon! :goodvibes

Def is awesome of her! This trip all she's paying for is her airfare and tickets..last trip she covered 1/4 of the rooms. With my job more steady I didn't need her to help with the rooms this time. She's used to hoppers as we had them the other 2 trips before this past one. She missed them a LOT..LOl

Yeah..not sure why my kids keep getting strep. We went almsot 4 years with no sick visits to the Dr and now 3 times in 6 weeks!

Oh I am so sorry that your dd has strep. Totally not fun when our kids are ill. :sad2:

Yay for the park hopper upgrade that your mom is doing! :thumbsup2

Ok i just made a room only ressie for Eric, myself and the 3 youngest at All Star Movies for the 16th.. I just can't get to disney fast enough I guess..LOL
