The Drive From Milwaukee or Chicago - anyone just back?

I'm trying to find out about any construction on I-294, I-80, I-65 and I-465, I-57, I-24, and I-75.
We most likely will take the Illinois route, just because it's less stressful

Also do most people stay on I-75 and drive thru Atlanta or take the bypass? Does it shave any time off to go thru (as long as it's not rush hour of course )

I don't know how much this will help, but we just returned from Ohio on Saturday night and all I can tell you is that there was some construction on either I-65 or I-294. All I know we were somewhere in Indiana. We had just dropped off my niece in Cincinnati for school. Traffi was not that bad going and coming back. I just drive and my sister tells me where to go, so I'm sure where we were.

I am going next month so not just back but I will say we NEVER ever take the Atlanta bypass - well we did a long time ago - but found it much faster to go straight through Atlanta.

We are leaving next week from Chicago and from all reports we are taking the I-57 route. Was told there is quite a bit of construction on I-65 near Indy. Also for some reason any time we have driven the Indy route we always get stuck in Louisville ina major traffic jam.

We usually do take the bypass thru Atlanta only because we usually hit Atlanta during rush hour.

A relative of mine just came up on june 6 and said it wasn't too bad.

From Chicago, Chattanooga is half way mileage wise.

Speed limit in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida is 70.

We drove once (never again) and left at 5pm which took us through the major cities well after rush hour; Atlanta--agree with the other poster, we drove straight through with no problem. It took us about 21 hours.
This year we're flying out of Rockford IL on TMA for $79 and it will take us 4 hours.
