Okay so let me preface this by saying that I am SO looking forward to this vacation. I have planned every aspect of it myself and can't wait to have two whole weeks with my husband and three sons! Everyone works hard and we all deserve it!

So last night, I dreamed about the cruise for the first time. You would think it would be a good dream filled with all the wonderful images I've gleamed from reading these boards but it so was NOT!

I dreamed we arrived at Port Canaveral and it was like a huge grid. I could see the Disney Magic but I could not get to it. I felt so stressed. Then when we finally got there, our rooms were not what we expected and we had to share with stangers due to overbooking!!

I know it sounds silly but will these dreams stop? I am not at all stressed about the trip. I can't wait. But maybe underneath I am nervous that because I planned everything, if something goes wrong, it's on me!! I think I will feel better after Christmas when we tell the kids and I can share my excitement with them!

Have any of you out there had "Disney Dreams" before your trip????

Thanks guys, you are the best!!

Kelli

I keep hearing this ghost-like voice saying:
"If you spend a lot...the Mouse will come"

We cruised on the Magic last September and about a week before we sailed I had a dream that my DD4 climbed over the railing and fell overboard. It was terrible and you can bet I kept her away from the railings all week!

I think it may just be an information overload thing. I planned like crazy as well, but this time we're going with a much more relaxed attitude and itinerary.

Think happy thoughts! Everything will be fine and magical!

Remember that "stress" isn't always bad. You are "stressed" with the excitement of holding onto a huge secret from your family. And you are excited beyond belief after reading everything on these boards and on some level you're just a teeny bit worried that things will not live up to your expectations.

You said yourself that you and your family deserve this. You've done the best you could by doing your homework but you aren't going to be able to anticipate every aspect of the trip.

Maybe some part of you is wondering what it's like to dine with "strangers" so you dreamt an even more extreme scenerio about rooming with them.

Or if you've never been to the port before you are worried about how easy it is to find your way and wanting that process to go smoothly.

I think your dreams just indicate you have a lot of information and excitement about a truly special vacation.

Try to relax and focus on how much fun it will be to see their faces this Christmas! (and no matter what, you can't possibly "ruin" the vacation, all will have a good time)

Hmmm...dare I admit that I had dreams starting a month before our last cruise. They have already started this time and I'm not planning nearly as much for it as I did the first one. LOL! I just look forward to the cruise going perfectly after all of the problems that I encounter in my dreams.

Thanks so much for your kind reassurance. Are you a psychologist or something?? You said just the right things and I feel a little less strange!!

JC,

I gotta agree. You are good.

I was gonna say things like

Don't worry, you are not alone. Lots of us have them"

But you did much better.

nicely done.

nope, not a psychiatrist. but I work with teens a lot, so maybe an amateur one?

Plus, I'm speaking from experience of having a lot of "weird" dreams about various things and if you try to really interpret what they might be about, I think it's enlightening.

I may not have been "right" but at least you feel better, right Kelli?

And maybe after you break the big surprise, that's when the really happy can't wait to be cruising dreams will start!

I had one last night and my trips not til next june. I dreamed that we were sitting on some steps and I sent my DH to see if we missed the safety drill, and while we were sitting there, I told my DS "oh no, I forgot to pack all the stuff that was in the special box under the bed" ( you know...the stuff that you all recommend that we take that I have started to save so I don't forget!) Then I realized I had also forgot to pack all the other neccessites too and all we had were the clothes we were wearing!
Luckily I woke up then! Whew.

Could all the talk of the recent problems with the hurricane sailings have been somewhere in the back of your mind? :confused3

I had one last night, it was time to board and I had lost my drivers lic. and couldn't board:sad:

I've had a couple of bad dreams, the latest being last week and we don't sail until April. I dreamed we also forgot to pack all the important things that we're supposed to. I also dreamed that we were trying to meet our flight home (by the way, we are driving not flying) and forgot to pack to go home and had to do it in less than 1 minute. That is also when I realized that we went all week and forgot to go to the shows at night that the girls are really looking forward to. Most my dreams have to do with my stress of trying to plan so that the girls don't miss anything important between one in the 3-4 group and one in the 5-7 and three ports to explore and shows and family meals and you name it. I know something is going to have to give and I'm stressed trying to make those calls now so that I don't have to stress about making them once we get there. Some of it I think comes from the fear of the unknown. I've cruised before, but not with Disney and not with the kids. I know this may very well be the only cruise we can afford to go on with Disney and I'm afraid of missing out. Glad I'm not the only one that stresses....:earseek:

Mine is waking up on the last day to get off the ship!!!! I wish that day would never come. Also, making that $1000 re-booking fee...Ouch:wave2:
