What happened to the DIS? This used to be a community of people who enjoyed Disney and visiting the parks. Folks came to share experiences, ask for advice, share "magic" that others may not know they had access to, or even, as experienced, make plans to share a wishes cruise or unique way to experience WDW.
Now it has degraded into a constant complaining about how "I don't get to ride this 5 times any more! I'm more special because I paid for my vacation and I shouldn't have to wait", or "FP+ sucks because now people don't got to the fastpass machine so I can get in SB ahead of them", or "I was late for my fastpass and the castmember would not honor it, so I held up everybody else until they let me go, since I'm more important than the other guests."
The sense of entitlement among most of the posts is mind boggling. :confused3
The best way for people to get what they want is to get in their car (no waiting), put in a Disney music cd (for ambiance), go to an ATM (for putting your card in and getting paper out), and making as many laps around the local mall as you want.:drive:

What was the DIS like 19 posts ago?

Good luck with this thread. ;)

Personally, I'm tired of threads from people complaining about the complainers. These cause as much, or more, "litter" in the TPAS forum as the FP+ Haters Club do.

But, to each their own. It's a great, big, wide internet out there. There is room for everyone, haters and lovers alike.

It was really good back in 2008 as opposed to 2013. Snark much?
Posting 3000 doesn't make you any less of the problem.

There is some of that still out here, but there is also a lot of frustration on these boards as we all can see. Many of us have issues with implementation of FP+ and the lack of reinvestment in the Parks and choose to discuss it in...wait...a Theme park discussion board...what a novel idea. There are many threads about helpful ideas, and strategies that should suit your taste.

We, the persons who have been before and after this implementation, have a right to start threads, too. I recently sent someone to these boards as a tool for his daughter's 1st trip, and his. He told me, in no uncertain terms, it made him not want to go because it sounds like an entitlement attitude is rampant.
You don't like it, fine. Complain. But you come on someone's thread, complain about their complaining of something, and snark. But, let them respond to you on your thread, then all beegeezus goes up.
This is coming from someone who still goes, even with the changes. And it's the same people on all the threads, brow beating others for their opinions. It's a forum. Find another thread that "suits your taste" instead of this one.

I agree, DD88, but to have dig through FP+ and "I had to wait" posts in a, wait for it, theme park and attraction strategy board, not a complaint board mind you, for an idea for a first timer with a child, which I told to look here is as frustrating as having to go to WDW and wait in line.

I think it has more to do with change at Disney. There has been a big change in things from park expansions, FP+, etc. People don't always adjust well to it. I don't like a lot of change at one time, but it is what it is.

Maybe this thread won't get too out of control...

Rolllllllllll Tiiiiiiiide! !!

I'm new here and quite surprised by so much negativity. I had no idea that people went to disney with the expectation of never having to wait in line for anything. I guess I didn't use fp- to its potential. Would like to see some tweaks but still looking forward to our trip. I was telling my husband last night that I stumbled into the crankiest place on earth on ths board. I've been on political sites that aren't this nasty. :rotfl:

What happened to the DIS?

A. This used to be a community of people who enjoyed Disney and visiting the parks. Folks came to share experiences, ask for advice, share "magic" that others may not know they had access to, or even, as experienced, make plans to share a wishes cruise or unique way to experience WDW.

But "A" = "B". The "joy" that you were used to was people sharing their experiences and strategies on how to ride each ride 5 times, how to avoid lines, how to maximize FP usage, how to beat the newbies and uninitiated to the goal line, etc. Now that Disney has implemented a system that craters many of these strategies, people will come here to vent and, eventually, share their strategies for making the best of this new situation. The Dis didn't change. WDW did.

OP I hear you, there is a lot of that out here, and it does get frustrating to see all of the negative attitudes out here everything from triple dipping before all FP+ to " my family is done". However, your post seemed just as negative in the other direction. Some of us who still go like to have rational discussions about the changes. No sense of entitlement here, just like to see the differing points of view that make this board what it is.....

The FP+ situation on the boards has degenerated into "I'm right!" "No, *I'm* right!" all of the time, when in fact, *nobody* is wrong and all opinions are valid ones. It's just that some can't see that.

And threads like this don't really help. It's really just another complaint to clutter up the TPAS board when you think about it.

I would recommend visiting the other sub-boads- Restaurant, Families, Resort etc. People there are much more realistic
