OK I think I already know the answer to this but is there anyone who has ever put six people in 1 room at the Swan/Dolphin? I have a friend who is a teacher and wants to stay there but she has four kids. 3 DD 1 DS . There would be no problem having the three girls sleep in one bed. They are small. Any chance. I know the official site says only Five but I hate to see them never be able to take advantage of this discount!
 They really can't afford a Deluxe unless they get a great discount!!

Any other suggestions for this family of six?

TIA

The rooms aren't huge even though it is a Deluxe...6 would be a really tight fit....I'd get too rooms.

Ft. Wilderness Cabins are nice and sleep 7, plus have a full kitchen. They might be able to get a discount code rate if they watch mousesavers.com; I've seen them go for $129-$139 or so.
That's probably where they'd be most comfortable.

That being said, if they really had their hearts set on Swan/Dolphin, and realize that they'll be cramped and sleeping 3 to a bed (unless they want to spend and 3xtra $25/nite for a rollaway bed), I personally wouldn't think twice about leaving one person's name off the reservation in order to stay there. Lots of people on these boards will get all bent out of shape about that statement, but that's their problem. I know, I know, fire codes, rules, raising costs for everyone else due to all the extra towels used, (by one little kid!), blah, blah, blah...... If your friends don't mind, I don't mind ;) Hope they have a magical stay!

With the discounted rate, why not reserve 2 rooms? Other options are offsite villas and time share rentals. We are a family of five and cannot fathom all using 1 bathroom.

I too do not have a "problem" with her cramming 6 people in that room - I just think that in the long run it will put a damper on their trip.

I know, I know, you don't spend that much time in the room. But - think of all the suitcases and 6 people using 1 bathroom - especially 4 kids - what if there is a potty emergency?? Get the picture?

I vote for Ft Wilderness or two rooms - but its their decision. JMO

Whatever they decide - I hope they have a magical stay!!!
:D

Aren't there Jr. Suites at the Swan/Dolphin that sleep 6? I thought I remembered seeing that layout when I was researching for our trip. We qualify for the government discount and if I remember correctly, the suite was also discounted and I thought it was reasonable. Might be worth looking into!

We had looked into the Jr. Suites at the Dolphin too. Reserved with the Nurse's rate for $292.50/nite. Since then, I was able to book 2 standard rooms at the Dolphin thru Hotwire for $109/nt., so I cancelled the Jr. Suite.

If one of the children is under the age of 3, they may be able to do it and request a pack n play for the youngest. Junior suite is expensive for many people, but it does have two rooms which might be nice with that many people. The Swan also has some a Studio suite that is bigger than a standard room, but only one room so not as expensive as the Jr. Suite. Everyone needs to do what is best for the individuals in their own family.
