The Documentation Packet

Typically at 30 days from sail date. If you don't have it by the 21 day mark you should call DCL and ask when they sent it and let them know you have not receieved it.

Give it until the 21st day from sailing before you call. They will not do anything for you prior to that. :)

Is there anything really important in those packets? You can download the OLCI form off the web site, and get luggage tags at the terminal. Other than bringing proper ID with you, what else do you really need?

I haven't received our packet and we cruise in 8 days. However, we were a late booking just 3 weeks ago, with guaranteed cabin. The only part that is bugging me is that not having the luggage tags to put on so our luggage can be picked up in our room at the Hyatt. But I have my paperwork printed off the website so I know I can get on the ship. That's the important part. :yay:

As Evil Queen 2 also stated, squirk, my biggest concern is my luggage. I truly want to be able to check my bags in at my home airport and not see them again until I walk into my stateroom.

Twice I've been asked by security to show my booklet (the page listing the passengers) before I could proceed through the screening. Other than those two times, I've never needed it to check in.

Interesting. We've always been asked to show passports when pulling up to the security checkpoint outside (we always drive to PC), and I think we've been asked to give our reservation numbers at the same time, but never been asked to present our booklet.

So you are using DVC transportation from MCO, yes?

Also, just as an aside, you realize that your luggage won't be in your stateroom when you first walk in, right? It probably won't show until later in the afternoon, closer to dinner.

So you arrive the day you sail?

Did you book through a TA? If so call them. Sometimes TAs get the packets and sent them on. Sometimes TAs forget.

We too have been asked to show the booklet page a couple of times. We have also booked last minute before and used DCL transfer to ship, they e-mailed us the luggage tags with instructions how to print and attach to luggage.

We were asked only once out of our cruises and it was ironically enough in September when we were at the port twice in a one week time period. To clarify, we had a cruise in September of 3 nights (September 16th to 19th) And then had another one leave on September 24th. On our September 24th cruise for the first (and only time to date ) we were asked for our booklet at the first security gate before we were allowed to pass into the preferred parking area. It was really weird.

I don't believe TA's forget...I just think they cannot send what isn't there. :) I am currently waiting for my book and we sail in exactly 2 weeks. It goes to the agency first UNLESS you ask for it to be sent directly to you. Something I neglected to do when I booked this trip was request it go to the client (me)

They make great keepsakes :) I like collecting them and seeing the different covers they put on them for the themed cruises if any. Halloween on the High Seas and Merry Time cruises for example.

Yes on DVC transport. Understood on the luggage not being there right away.

Thanks again to everybody for their insight.

@DisneyNewbie76 You can call DCL and ask them to reship you the documents/booklet. They are not open on weekends, so call first thing Monday morning and they will ask for your reservation number. They can ship them out via FED EX from what I understand. The only times I have heard of them NOT shipping travel docs/booklet is if you are coming from the UK or Australia.
