How exactly does this work?

I am interested in learning more about Disneyland, and would love to hear the disneyland story. But I don't really care to know about American history (sorry, I'm not American!). How do those two attractions tie together? Is it a movie? Or amimatronics? How does the disneyland story fit in?

If you are not interested in American history, you probably would find this attraction boring. As an American, I always enjoy it because it reminds me of the greatness of my country.

You don't have to watch Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln to view the displays in the lobby. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is a mixture of anamatronics (Mr. Lincoln) and a movie. Guests file into the theater and watch the show. The "Disney Story" part is in the lobby area where you can view displays from Disneyland's history, other featured artwork, etc. The lobby area can be accessed from the Disney Gallery shop or the main entrance (by the Mad Hatter shop) and you can go in and out as you please. Basically they are two different things and you don't have to view one to view the other.

I found Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln to be okay, but I much prefer the American Adventure in Epcot Center because it covers more history. Still, it's fun to see elements of the American Adventure in Great Moments.

I am American, but still have a big interest in the history of other countries.
What's scary is the more you learn, the less you know. :faint: lol

Even if I weren't American, I'd still be mesmerized by the animatronic Abraham Lincoln. Just sayin'. This was a to-do attraction on our first, one day visit.

I'm not an American and I loved the Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. Even my teen DD enjoyed it. The thing I love most about Americans is their patriotism. It's very infectious :)

I recall hearing abit about how the animatronic came about on a Podcast from the Dis Unplugged. If I recall correctly, it was something to do with a world fair. I'll see if I can find the podcast episode.

I love Mr Lincoln because Walt loved Lincoln so much. Can't get more Disney then that.

I am Canadian too and I love the Lincoln show. I love history though, and I cry through anything that has a positive message of freedom and hope.
