Thank god there is a forum like this where I can find information about DLPR.

But I started to think about that it is very strange that a lot of information people are seeking in this forum are not to find on the official website (www.disneylandparis.com)

This is an amusement park with over 10 million visitors every year.

Is it so hard to put obvious information about the following on the website:

- Opening hours
- Parade hours
- Parking info and prices
- Annual Passes - where to buy and that ID is required
- rules for discounts on i.e. Annual Passes
- Ticket/guest services opening hours
- discounts
- extra hours program
- a program or overview of happenings in the Disney Village

Another thing that confuses me is that I have to choose country, and are then sent to a norwegian page where it says that the information will be in english and with a link to the english site???

During the last week I have been trying to find information about the resort on the official pages, and have been automatically redirected to at least 5 different domains. Sometimes the pages I am redirected to either does not exist or is old (cause I suddenly find newer pages with the same information).

I know that some of the information mentioned are actually somewhere on the website, but I find it hard to navigate back after a few days, because it feels like a jungle of pages and domains you are redirected between.

Sorry but the frustration, but I am grateful that I found this forum where I can find information about the things I need to know.

I agree that it can be quite hard at times to find information you're looking for.
I've also found at least one piece of very out of date information - if you look up the Davy Crockett Adventure, the website gives you a phone number to call to add it to your holiday. Unfortunately, that phone number no longer exists.

*Puts degree hat on *

The site seems to focus on the user experience (am I enjoying the website? does it look nice? etc), whilst forgetting about usability (can I find the information I want?)

*Takes degree hat off again*

it doesn't always work, either.
i've never been able to book a stay successfully.

I've been able to book holiday fine luckily. But I agree it's certainly not user-friendly. I don't need such big graphics while all the important info is hidden away all over the place.

I had to bookmark the closures page as I didn't think I'd ever find it again!

We as humans can also be lazy creatures too and a lot of people will ask a question that with a small bit of looking on the DLP site they can find the answer to!

On the other hand, if the website were fantastic we wouldn't get so many people here :goodvibes

Well, I agree it isn't necessarily "user friendly" in all aspects but the info you are searching for is there.

I believe that the reason you are asked to select your country is related to actually booking a package (different offers for different countries)

Once you choose your country, there is a very busy page, look on the top of the page towards the right with all of the headers.

If you click on "prepare your visit" you will find park hours, hotel info, restaurants, etc.

If you click on "park hours" it will pull up a calendar (granted, not very far in advance) and then you not only can find out the park hours but can also click on parade times, fireworks, etc. This is also where it explains Extra Magic Hours.

Since Extra Magic Hours are for hotel guests only, more info can be found by clicking on "finding your ideal offer"

Since I am from the US, it is difficult to find info on annual passes, but I suspect because of my country, they are not highly marketed to me. Thank goodness for this forum to provide that info.

Anyway, hope this helps you or someone else!

I agree that the DLRP site is particularly bad although I don't think the other Disney ones are that much better. Part of the reason why the owner of this site started it up along with the forums! :goodvibes

I have always found DLRP Magic a much better source of info, also DLP Info although this site is not updated as much as it used to be there is still a wealth of knowledge on there, also look at The Disney Family.

When I was booking my trip I kept on getting "time out" message with pictures of the rabbit from ALice in Wonderland grrrr!

When I was booking my trip I kept on getting "time out" message with pictures of the rabbit from ALice in Wonderland grrrr!

Yeah that kept happening to me too, very very annoying. The only way to get around that was to totally shut down my pc and start it back up again, then the message disappeared and I was able to start again.
Not really something you want to do though when you are parting with your money, lucky I'm a disney fanatic otherwise I might have given up
