The Disney Visa Gift Card Incentive???

I am preparing my pitch for my DH (Mr. Finance himself) regarding a DVC purchase. I have lots and lots of information, and have spent hours going over everything. I think I have a great understanding of the system and have crossed all my T's and dotted all my I's.

But there's one thing I'm not sure of: What is this Disney Visa Gift Card that they're using as part of the purchase incentive? And what can you do with it, exactly? Is it like a debit card? A gift card to be used on Disney property? Something else entirely?

Hi,
The Disney Visa card that I am getting is a preloaded Visa card. You can use the card until you run out of the money that has ben put on it.

Does that mean you can use it anywhere for purchases just like a regular Visa? can you use it at an ATM? How soon do you get it after you sign up? I had al ot of questions regarding the card and was hoping to recoup my down payment of $500 by being able to use the card for either purchases anywhere besides Disney or take cash out.

Hi!!! I still don't quite understand how to obtain this awesome incentive of getting a Visa $500 credit if you sign up with DVC Our guide did question us if we had a referral at our open house meeting and we said, no, because we didn't know anyone. What is this based upon? This is all so new and confusing we have till Sept 10 deadline. My only concern is that they are only selling AKV Villas right now, and the only villas we are interested in staying because of vacinity is Boardwalk. I'm considering a resale, too!!! This incentive is directly through Disney only I believe- If you do a resale you won't receive any of the current incentives but you can always ask the seller you end up dealing with if they are willing to offer anything- Usually a resale being priced much lower is the incentive- & the fact that yes, you can purchase the home resort of your choice- We did AKV for the incentives- figured we still have a great chance of staying at other resorts for our travel times- & AKV may be wonderful! I was hoping for an area that is "connected" to other parks and resorts by monorail, ferry, etc- We have 2 trips planned for next year and neither are at AKV- Becoming a member of DVC period we feel has been our best move in a long time!

Just got mine this week. Keep in mind this particular incentive is for a prepaid Visa card, not a Disney Visa. Disney Visa is a consumer credit card and has nothing to do with DVC. The prepaid Visa can not be used at an ATM for cash (as most prepaids can't) according to the FAQ I got with them. It can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. I'm still considering whether buying DVC would be advantageous for me or just to continue renting points for our future vacations. Buying makes more sense but just can afford it right now (would love to with all the incentives being a first time buyer) - will have to wait til after the first of the year, I guess. But will wait to talk to my sales lady on the 19th when she returns from vacation - she says the incentive is over on Sept 20th so she wants me to take advantage of it - but can't pull money out of thin air!!
