Anyone think that the computer upgrade is a coincidence? It seems to me that we just paid for DVD to upgrade their computer system so they can track direct vs resale not to help members alone! So we pay money for this then they take perks away from future resales that members may want to add on! Wow! The Disney difference is alive!

The entire WDW resort upgraded their computer systems, not just DVC. And I have no idea what that would have to do with tracking resales vs. direct purchases - other than maybe they added a field or two to a table in a database in the new software that was rolled out to the entire resort.
 
As a software developer, I believe DVD was already tracking resales vs. direct, either directly through a field or by tracking transfers.
 
DVC is known for using Disney's software when they can, even if it doesn't do a great job. That's why we now have "Travel Plan numbers" and why we are losing many of the room request categories. It's also why we were given access to online check in without the ability to add DVC type requests.

DVD has been able to track all contracts and their source since we have been members. Every time we added on via resale, our Guide would call to let us know that she knew that we had purchased resale.

After we made our one resale purchase, we have never been contacted by any guide. I think that they gave up on us. We even met our guide once. Talked on the phone, then took a tour at WDW, but bought resale and they disappeared! :thumbsup2
 
And I'm not impressed with the new system. We tried to check in at OKW last Monday (1/10) and the entire reservations system was down! They told us it would take at least an hour before it came up again. Fortunately, they had run a printout before it went down and were able to find out which room was 'ours' so they gave us temporary keys and brought us new ones after it came back up. AND despite the 'new' system we couldn't do online check in, and our room keys at Vero the weekend before were recut 3 different times and still didn't show our charging privileges...just kept saying 'guest not found.' Hope the bugs are worked out soon!
