I booked this cruise Oct 9th of last year for me and my family. I worked two jobs and saved, saved, saved. Seven months worth of anticipation, waiting, reading the disboards almost daily and sometimes trying not to even think of it at all.

Same as the rest of you here in this thread, I disembarked this cruise today around 8:45am. Every extra hour I put in at work, every sacrifice I made else where so that I could contribute to this vacation was SO very worth it!

The weather was WONDERful, the service and entertainment were top notch.
P.O.T.C. 'At Worlds End' in the Walt Disney Theater (from 10:30 to 1:15am) was awsome. The pirate party and the showing of P.O.T.C. 1 on the jumbo tron was quite the experiance.

On Monday 'Nassau day' we walked around the port area for a little while, walked over to Hard Rock Cafe for a guitar pin and then waved down a cab to take us to Atlantis. We walked around there for a while took many photos and then headed to the ferry terminal to take a boat over to the Dolphin Encounters on Blue Lagoon.

Our Dolphin was named Andy, he was a patient and friendly dolphin that loved to play football and spit water on us all:-)

Spend way to much on photos and other Dolphin Encounters stuff. Got back to the ferry port, ate a quick bite at Johnny Rockets wondered the beach at Atlantis for a while more and then at the last possible minute, happily paid a cab driver $20 bucks to rush us back to the port. As we ran up the gangway we were told that we were the second to last family to board the ship

Castaway Cay was the ultimate private island 'Disney Style' the whole place was stunning. Beautiful landscapes and seascapes and photo opts at every turn. We did the bike ride first thing, then went swimming, snorkinling and picture taking with my Canon 30D and my 12 year old son followed closely with his Canon D30. Grabbed a quick lunch at Cookie's BBQ and then went Parasailing at 2:00pm. Wow was that fun my 10 year old daughter got cold feet at the last minute so I was able to go twice, once with my son and once with my wife. That was the first time parasailing for us all and I couldn't have picked a better place to create that memory.

We stayed on Castaway Cay until they asked us to head back to the ship, but for us that's what it takes :-)

Our day at sea was just as great. The Oceaneers lab was a big hit with the kids, the BBall court on deck ten was where my son spent most of his day at sea. We hit Beach Blanket Buffett for lunch and then walked over to Goofy's Galley for some excellent soft serve ice cream. Took the family to see the Disney Dreams show at 6:15pm before our 8:30pm dinner seating at A.P.
The show was outstanding!! and I thought the Peter Pan and 'little girl' were very convincing in there roles.

Even though we all knew we had to get up at the crack of dawn the next morning, as usual we didn't get to bed until after midnight.

This morning at breakfast we kept feeling like someone had died, like we were loosing something we all loved so much. We said goodbye one last time to our servers took their picture with the kids and then headed off to the terminal.

This cruise is really just the beginning of our vacation, we are now in Orlando in a four bedroom pool home we rented until June 10th and are going to spend the next 10 days going to the Universal parks, Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa, but we just cannot get over the massive impact the last four days has had on us. That feeling we all feel really is "The Disney Difference"

I see that there is still space available on the June 7 -10th 3-day Disney Cruise, who knows, we might be on it!!

Thanks for the great review!
We can't wait til we can cruise Disney style! We were going in late '08 but may need to bump it out til spring '09 due to dh's work-Boo-Hoo!

Yeah hey your having fun in florida right now well were at home o well we will be there this month and we are debating bookin the 21st cruise to extend our vacation

Wow, sounds like you had an amazing time. And I think you should book the cruise!!! :)

We are in the Indian Creek subdivision,192 west between mile marker 4 and 5.

Just got back from Dwontown Disney, ate dinner at Planet Hollywood and all I can say about that place is, although the food is good, man they really pack you in there. The whole time we were there we felt like we were right on top of each other and everyone else!

Tomorrow we are off to Tampa for a day at Busch Gardens. That should be a lot of fun.

Not yet but I'm checking the Disney Cruise site every day and it's still available. I think by tomorrow I will pull everyone together and see if they want to spend the this coming Thursday through Sunday here at the house we rented and just go home from here, or take a three day cruise and leave for home straight from the Port Canaveral.

My only thought or hesitation would be should I just go ahead and book it and worry about next year sometime this fall, or should I use some of the money I would spend on this spur of the moment three day cruise and secure another cruise for this time next summer.

One thing is for sure, we are not rich people but we make an alright living, either way though it would be something this family would talk about for years if we did end up starting our two week Florida vacation with a 4 day cruise, then a week in Orlando in a 4 bedroom pool home and then finished up our vacation with another 3 day cruise!!

I don't think I could tell our extened family if we did do it, it would have to be our dirty little secret:rotfl:

Such a tough decision and man, I would be so torn. But I would probably do it! ;)

All of us that have become hooked on DCL know exactly what your family was feeling the morning you had to disembark, you will continue to think about this vacation for many months to come and the wonderful part is reliving such great memories.:cheer2: ROBIN

Well we paid $3200 for the first cruise (which without the second job I was blessed to have for 6 month we would not have been able to do) So of course my parents and my wifes parents were really excited for us and our kids to have this opportunity.

You know how parents are, if we told them we went on a second cruise... well I just wouldn't want to seem wasteful or careless with our finances. Now there is no way that what someone else thinks would be 'the' deciding factor in my decision but it is in the back of my mind.

Yesterday at Busch Gardens was great, weather was wonderful and the lines were managable. The only bummer was that Shekra and Gwazi coasters were closed for the day and when we got over to ride Rhino Rally they were closed do to a medical emergency:sad1:

Today were off to Universal Studios. We have lunch ressies for Finigans. Temps should hit 91 degrees today so it's gonna be a hot one and thats O.K. by me, I wait all winter for this weather:banana:

I totally understand what you mean about finances. I'm glad you got to do the first cruise and it sounds like you are having an amazing vacation! You will certainly cherish and remember it!

We also understand why you would't want to book it as we would really like to book a 3-nighter and just fly in 4 days early but then I dont know what will happen in the long run plus we are going to WDW this month, Washington D.C. next month (4th of July!!!!) and Illinois next month so we are really debating doing it sincr my son cant even come since he will be in DL with some friends that week and doesnt like cruising with Disney.

Well last night after we all got back from Islands of Adventure we sat down in our rental home and had a heart to heart about our next Disney cruise. After much debate and back and forth confusion about wanting to go on another Disney cruise this week but also not wanting to cut this portion of our vacation short, we decided to put the money we would spend on another Disney cruise this week down as a deposite on either a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise or a 3day land 4 day sea Bahama cruise for next June.

It was a hard decision but in the long run I think that doing two Disney cruises this summer and possibly not being able to do one next summer wasn't worth it. Now we will have a whole year to reflect on our magical cruise experience and all that we will do on our next one.

Any comments on the 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise. We live on the east coast so a plane flight will be needed, which will be an experience for my wife and kids all by itself (we always drive to Orlando)

Thanks

We had the same experience at Planet Hollywood in 2006... all crunched up and we couldn't even scoot our chairs back to get out from our table without bumping into the people behind us... but the food was good.

:surfweb: I live on the west coast and have gone on the Mexican Riviera Disney cruise in 2005 and we are booked to go again in June 2008. Not so much because we love the Mexican Riviera, but because we love DCL and don't want to have to fly across the US to get to cruise.
We did that last year (2006) and it was a nightmare... let me just say this... we will NEVER fly Delta again. :sad2: EVER. ...we took a red eye out of San Diego - 11pm, arriving in Orlando 8am.... NOT!... we finally took off at 1am and arrived in Orlando at 5:30 PM the next afternoon. Thank God we were a week early for our cruise or we would have missed it. My advise to anyone is don't fly in on the DAY of your cruise... it would be too stressful.

Anyway... enough of that.. the Mexican Riviera is a great cruise. I recommend it to anyone and am going again myself. ... Just stay away from Delta and you will have a great time.
