Finally! Just got through to someone at the Plastic Surgeon's office. I remembered that I had the business card of the lady that showed me reconstruction photos! Probably the lowest man on the totem pole and she answered her phone!! Yahoo!! My HMO has 2 plastic surgery offices and guess what...my doctor is at her office today. So she is going to go speak with him and see if they need to have me come in. She is my hero!:worship: :worship: :worship:

THAT'S GREAT :cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

Just got a call back from my Plastic Surgeon. He said that it is somewhat common for the wound to open up in the area that it did and that it's not a problem.

I am to discontinue using the Hydrogen Peroxide that I was previously told to use and to continue using a thin amount of the antibiotic ointment. As long as I'm not running a fever or have chills then it is ok. If either of those happen I need to go to Urgent Care right away!:thumbsup2

He said it was probably just my body not liking the internal suitures that are in the process of dissolving. During that time it can get irritated and well I won't go into details, but it doesn't look very pretty. Luckily it's not on my chest area and instead on the scar that goes from hip to hip. So even if it does cause an ugly scar it is well below the bikini line.:thumbsup2

OK, I feel much better now knowing that I haven't contracted some horrible hospital staph bacterial infection that is going to eat my body away and cause me to die a horrible painful death!:rotfl2:

Excellent!!! :thumbsup2 Just don't call anyone else, or you will be instructed to only use peroxide and discontinue all ointment :rotfl2:

Yeah, my boys do that, too, so I suspect we're heading into a growth spurt. I'm curious to see how tall he is at his 4 year check-up. Both the boys were kinda shrimpy as babies. DS7 didn't reach average height until around age 5 or 6, I think, and caught up in weight. (He was below the 10% for awhile.)

DS3 seems to be pretty average height-wise but low in weight. I think he and Jake have a similar body build, very lean but healthy and just busy, busy, busy! :rotfl:

DD always scored in the 90th percentile, don't know why but she did. :confused3 When DS came along he always seemed to score right in the 50th percentile in everything. DH was quite alarmed because he thought that it meant we were going to have a really short, tiny son and a huge amazon daughter!:rotfl:

:grouphug: Hope you get that cleared up...maybe working 9 days straight was not your best bet :rolleyes1

Yeah, guess I shouldn't have used my new belly button as a pencil holder huh?!:confused3 :rotfl2:

Oh, wow. Sorry about the complication. Hopefully it will clear up soon. Hopefully you can find a plastic surgeon to take a look at it soon, geesh! You'd think the answering machine/service at the old telephone number would provide the new information, what's up with that?! :sad2:

My HMO had an old hospital. A couple of years ago they about quadrupled the size of it. They also added brand new doctor offices right next to it. Basically it's now a huge 4 story building full of surgeons, plastic surgery, orthopedics, etc... Any of the doctors that might have to spend time at the hospital seeing patients. All of these doctors still see patients at other Kaiser offices spread around the Portland/Vancouver area. So when they did all of this switcharoo offices they disconnected some of the non-urgent numbers and gave offices new numbers. They've only been in the new offices about 6 months. But for some reason, part of their computer systems and directories are showing old numbers.

Also, since it's an HMO they don't do a lot of unnecessary Cosmetic Surgery. They will do some elective surgery, but not a whole lot. Instead they concentrate more on burn victims, reconstructive work, etc... Not a whole lot of implants, nose jobs, botox, etc...like the normal run of the mill plastic surgeon. So you have to be referred by your primary care physician and it has to be medically necessary. So I think for that reason they don't tend to publish their numbers a lot. They don't want a lot of people calling them for elective cosmetic surgeries.

How's that for a long complicated answer of why they don't answer their old phone numbers?!:lmao:

I'll take the plastic surgeon's word for this one! I was told to use the Hydrogen Peroxide when it was just red & irritated, but now that it's opened up a bit they don't want me to use it. So I guess there is a method to the madness.

Anyway, I need to get my rear back to work this morning!

Have a great afternoon ladies!

Make sure you are only working the rear, give the tummy and b o o b a bit of rest ok :thumbsup2

glad you found an answer :goodvibes we have Kaiser as well, it's all very confusing and it has been a pain to adjust to their way of thinking. Doctors do referrals without telling you the name of ther person and then poof you get a card in the mail saying you have an appt in less than 2 weeks... during work day hours

The fun part is when I go online to fill meds and notice.. umm honey you have a doctor's appt next week. "I do ? "

:headache: They never sent a card.

Hubby always has redness when the sutures heal. Sometime the larger knots are close to the surface and he snips them off, sorry that sounds icky.. but the knot is what irritates the tissues and takes the longest to heal. (Or at least that's what we figured, the rest of the incision would be all healed except for the knot area).

I read in one of my DL guide books that CMs have a collection of photos from Splash that they call FLASH MOUNTAIN, girls who flashed as the photo was taken.

I think there is a web site that has these kinda pictures on it.

Anyone want to ride rides with me on Saturday? :woohoo:

I do, I do.

yuck, I had to demo some other sugary kid yogurt. I didn't even want to try my own samples. UGH like eating frosting in a yogurt consistency. GROSS.

ohhhh but frozen go-gurt is not bad, tastes like a pudding pop.
I freeze them for the boys lunch, keeps the other parts of lunch cool and fresh. Wish they made a low fat, sugar free version.

I actually like plain yogurt.

Have you tried Pinkberry? It's frozen yogurt that tastes just like pain yogurt, not sweet.

Alrighty...just transferred my rewards dollars to my card - $214 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :woohoo:
