Knebels have been ordered to evacuate due to the fires!!!!!

WHAT!!??

I have been trying to get info on the fires from up here but I cannot find any specifics.

Many prayers for the Knebels and family as these fires roar through So Cal. I wish there was something I could do to help.

RJ please update us when/if you can.

Cheri & the kids have left the house. While the smoke is really bad, she said (as of 9:03am) house was not in danger yet.

OMG! You know, I was watching some of the news this AM about the fires when I was getting dressed & I thought about all of you CA peeps & wondered how close you all were to these things!! I don't know my CA geography very good but I guess I should LEARN a little 'eh?! How very scary for Cheri et al..... I hope these winds die down SOON and that they're all ok... I was just reading about the fires on MSN...250,000 evacuated! They mention so many different towns...what is the name of Cheri's town??!!

Got a text message from Cheri:


They are evacuated(last I knew @ Grandma's house)...unsure of house conditions, and she was only able to grab a few precious scrap books, pictures and some jewelry.


Will let you know more when I get anything.

Waiting on the National evening news...sure hope this evacuation was just a big precaution! I hope she hears something soon - I just can't imagine how frightening this must be...

They are at her sister's house. Nothing new and are waiting for some kind of information themselves. She will keep me informed.

Hi Everyone,

It's Linda...Shh! Sean doesn't know I'm using his screen name , I can't remember how I spelled mine, and it's too late for me to think. I just wanted to send to all and major doses of to Cheri and family.

I am watching the news reports about this now, our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Take care and we will post more soon. We have been working crazy hours, but we just looked at the new website and it is great! (At least we know the answer to who I am! We are guessing Sean is the tattoo man.

Anyhow, must try to go to bed, I'm chained to the bank 9am-7:30pm tomorrow. The joys of being in a Wal-Mart.

Hey guys...hoping no news is good news... So, is Cheri's town Carlsbad? I know she mentioned Escondido or something on Sunday...so I'm guessing she's sort of inbetween the two?! This is so awful (insert little praying smiley guy here).

Sean / Beano - how are the new Wii's?! Ours arrived yesterday (shipped to my office)....but I had to leave it hidden in the back of my truck last nite as DS was around underfoot all evening.... Do you think we're going to need the charger thingy for the remotes and more memory? Let me know how quick you find out how long you can play w/o buying these extras! Seems like DS needed more memory on all of his other systems pretty quickly...

Sean / Beano - how are the new Wii's?!

The Wii has 512K of built-in memory, which will hold several save files as well as 2 or 3 downloaded games. At that point, you will likely need a memory card. A 1GB SD card will go a long way...

The controller(s) use 2 AA batteries, so they'll last up to several weeks depending on use. It's probably a good investment to buy a set of Energizer or Duracell rechargeables. They come in sets of 8 with the charger, so you can always have a set fully charged and just swap 'em back and forth.

Now if I can only get my son to let ME use it once in a while...
