Can we use a personal photograph of stuff like Cinderella's Castle or other items at Walt Disney World? Or can you not use the images at all, no matter who owns the photo?

I believe we'd be OK with a personally-taken photograph that includes Disney in the background. I'd stay away from Photopass pics (I'm not sure the license extends that far). I think we'd probably be OK with a personally-taken picture of something at Walt Disney World itself, my only concern is whether iTunes would give us trouble about being listed with such a picture.

Thanks for the CosmicReid heads-up. I need to add him to my Twitter feed. I can't decide whether to DM him now, or wait a bit until we get the content built back up and get the podcast going.

I found something I could really use some help with in getting ready to put together a DISDads.com podcast. I have almost no graphics skills. Any of you dads want to take a run at designing a DISDads Podcast logo for us? The base logo should be a 400 x 400pixel square image that is displayed with the podcast in the iTunes Music Store listing. There are other sizes we need as well, but I'm pretty good at manipulating an existing image - not so good about creating an image from scratch.

The tricky part is to convey who the DISDads are, without using any of Disney's copyrighted images.

Barry's pretty good at this. Maybe he can help. I silhouetted castle is an excellent idea. Several apps (WDW Waits, Park Hours, etc) use this without a problem.

As an aside, anyone going to be in Disney March 27th? I have to fly down for a work meeting in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday the 26th and I'm seriously considering renting a car and driving up to Orlando on Saturday afternoon to spend the day at Disney on Sunday. Although, I'd be alone (without wife or kids)...

In the Screen have Text like the "DIS Dads Podcast...blah blah"
Make a Classic Hidden Mickey out of the Control Circle

...maybe change the "menu" location into a Castle logo...the Play/pause position an Spaceship Earth logo...Rewind could be the Scorcerers Hat type logo...and Fast Forward could be the Tree.

Yeah...I was just throwing it out there as a concept with hopes someone with some talent could take it and run with it...as the only tools I have are "Paint" and "Paint"...oh yeah I also have "Paint".

I had a couple of good concepts...

Another was...a Micket Ears Hat with some headphones and the info on the hat.


OR...a group of guys going through IASW on a boat with Guns...tiny little explosions...fires...screaming dolls.

Oh and of course Barry's Picture of Evan and Jasmine would work well too.

I do have a good connection for graphic designing. My brother has his own business in Utah doing this kind of work. Ill ask him to use his creative ideas.

dis-a-ney. bit of a hoboken accent. next time dw has to go into nyc in the summer, i want to take the day off and go in with her. ill take the ferry over to his shop and see if i can meet him. if not, im sure ill find something to eat.

I just recently upgraded my Digital SLR and have a Nikon D50 with 2 lenses for sale that is in like new condition.

Well, it looks like this podcast idea is gathering steam, and I tried last night but my bluetooth headset won't work with the computer as a recording device. So I went ahead and ordered a new headset/mic from Amazon.

For anyone who's considering doing this, a USB connected device is probably a better choice than something that plugs into the mic jack, because that routes the sound through the soundcard and tends to introduce line noise that is hard to edit out later.

I'll just post the link here. On the advice of a friend of mine, who is the co-host of the wonderful podcast "How Much Do We Love...", I ordered a refurbished Logitech USB 350 headset. I didn't want to spend more than $40 on what might turn out to be a short-term hobby, but with a refurb available for less than $13, I couldn't pass it up.

It was part of a "Best Places..." series...I think it was on last Saturday @ 8pm...not sure when it is on again.

Anytime I see one of those shows on Travel Channel, History Channel or whatever it is more like throwing gasoline on a fire than acting as a quick Disney fix. It makes me want to be there now.

That said, I haven't seen that one... need to find when it will be on so I can DVR it.

Anyone try a foam mattress? DW said it is time to get rid of the old mattress and get a new one. They seem pricey to me but I sleep in the recliner more than anything.

we got the nautilus sleep system about 8 years ago. its like a sleep by number bed. it has 2 big air bladders. dw side is like sleeping on marshmellows and my side is pretty firm. the only problem with that is when you go on vacation, you have to sleep on a spring mattress. we love and it was well worth the money we spent for it.
