And I'm back! Dec 27 till Jan 1 at POR. (plus dec 26 at Lake Buena vista hotel & spa to spend time at downtown disney).

I THINK my notes are good enough that I may work on a Trip Report.... but someone's going to have to show me how to post a good TR. (you know, with Pix and such).

SOOOOO much fun, and soooooooooooo crowded.

For the PA/NJ and don't forget DE, Maybe a day at the Philly Zoo, (Easter Break):confused3, That should be pretty much a central location:confused3

Yes it will be a TRI-STATE meet ,with anyone else that wants to come joning in.Heck Maryland is closer then some parts of our state lol.
We have some things to work out on this.....
A> do we do a family oriented thing? Zoo,picnic at a park, theme park all though they are not Disney like Hershey,Dorney, Seasame,Dutch Wonderland ect.
B> do we do more of a dad oriented thing? Say Phillie game, casino trip, ect

C. what time of year??? this would depend on what we decide to do

So what we need is for everyone to post their ideas, after we have them then we can put out a poll.
THis meet will be for ANY dad that would like to make the trip but is geared to the locality of the tri-state area NJ,Del,an eastern parts of Pa.BUt like I said any Dad traveling by or just wanted to make a day/weekend trip can join in.

Will be looking forward to your thoughts. So far I like the picinic in a park, zoo idea these are family oriented and can be lots of fun. got to get to work right now,so be back on later maybe I can start my trip report lol

If we get enough DADS together maybe we can take over the TRI STATE AREA!!! I think we need to make a new "INATOR".:rolleyes1

I was listening to a DIS Unplugged podcast from September and they mentioned this thread, so I had to check it out. I first visted WDW in 2000 and have been going almost annually since. My wife (rchristiansen), daughter, and I are signed up for the ABD Backstage Magic 4/17 - 4/22/11.

Thanks,
Jeff

Welcome aboard!

I have to ask, based on your name, any involvement in the Fantasy Football Toolbox website?

Guys, I'm looking for a little help.

I have posted the following question and would appreciate your insights as well:

Non-Park Day Help

As I mentioned previously I'm stopping by WDW for a quick non-park visit. My expected itinerary is as follows:

Arrive Orlando Area: 2:30 pm Sat (Jan 15)
Depart Orlando Area: 2:30 pm Sun (Jan 16)

I was looking at doing DTD, or resort hopping but wanted to ask some other what else am I overlooking as ideas for non-park Disney fun.

Thanks for any suggestions.

well, got it all cleaned up sat. morning. the only thing i had left to do was take the lights off the bushes.anyway, now that the holidays are over, what did eveyone get????? dw and i said nothing big this year, just socks and underware because of 3 disney trips in 10 months this year.but, she didnt listen!!! she got me a 32 inch led flat screen for the bedroom. :thumbsup2

My plan is take all the decorations down tomorrow when I am off. The kids had a great xmas. I got a blu-ray player and a griddle. My kids loved the Mickey pancakes on christmas morning, using the metal molds we bought a few weeks ago.

The Boardwalk is pretty cool:woohoo: Plus I hear if you are at the Boardwalk entrance for Epcot, for the fireworks they will let you into Epcot, For Free, I don't know how true it is, but it's worth a shot:confused3

I got out!!! I am home!! Man I NEVER want to go through that again! Still have to be careful for a while what I eat...no more raisins or nuts or corn or ...the list is still growing! What a way to not only end a week of vacation but the entire new year weekend. I hope all of 2011 is not going to be like this LOL

Shari managed to get one of the trees down while I was in the hospital. I will have to try to get the other tree down and the outside lights down this week and packed up in the attic again this week hopefully.

Welcome to our newer members! We are always glad to have new guys join us. We even have fun on facebook with each other if any of you want to join in there also.

Dave, to be only supposed to get socks and underwear for Christmas I think Tammy Claus treat you pretty well!!:cool1:

Hi ClearScreen,
Yep, I run FFToolbox.com -- I founded it about 12 years ago and now it's my full time job.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Jeff,

It is a nice site. I've consulted it many times over the years. I was in 3 FF leagues this year (a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd).

I was the Commish for the DIS Dad's Fantasy Football League this past year and will be running a DIS Dads Fantasy Baseball League in the spring. My team (The Mouse of Pain) came in second.

If you are interested in baseball or football, let me know. Although you may be the textbook definition of a "ringer".

Glad you are home and feeling better. Saw your pix on FB; you didn't look like you were feeling too well.

Ummm no. That would be the Northwestern Wildcats (hence the purple)
On that note, I have to express my disappointment with the Big 10 this year. We went 0-5 yesterday, (although secretly I was enjoying the Wisconsin loss... sorry Barry)

I just hope that the Big 10 (future Big 11.5) can improve as a whole. There were a lot of mediocre teams this year.

Let's not forget the Fighting Illini, who trounced Baylor last week! But I agree - otherwise it was a poor showing by the Big 10....

Happy New Year Dis Dads!!!!!

Hey Daddy-O! Good to hear from you! I hope you enjoy your time at the World and that it gives you the break you need.

So a rude awakening this morning, Mary (or 7 yo) woke us up at 5:40 with the declaration "Mom, Dad, I puked". Hopefully 2011 gets better soon.

I guess the optimist would say that 2011 can only get better from here.

I might be traveling over Spring Break (my brother and his wife are expecting their first child around that time), but I'll stay tuned to the details to see if I can make it.

Welcome to the club, Jeff!

:welcome: Glad you found us. In case you haven't read through the previous 5 1/2 threads a couple of items to note:

1) Topics of discussion: We have none. If we ever maintain discussion on one subject for more than 1.5 pages the world will stop. We must keep randomly discussing stuff for the safety of others. Oh and we have not attention span.

2) We are all crazy.

::yes::

My wife and I were down there for a long weekend a couple of years ago and had a great time resort-hopping. We hadn't seen a lot of the deluxe resorts in person and enjoyed checking them out, riding the boats and monorail, etc. DTD is a pretty obvious choice as well. We also played some mini-golf while we were there. Both the Winter Summerland and the Fantasia Gardens courses are fun.

I felt like crap. I could kill my wife for posting those pictures when I was strung out on dilaudid LOL

I hope you're feeling better Steve! I mentioned that my wife had diverticulitis and suffered through some painful attacks. She's doing much better now, though.*

*after having surgery to remove a portion of her colon.
