The dingo ate your baby

Julie you've almost cause me to fall over for two weeks now. I ususally listen to the podcast when I walk at night. Yea, I know, mistake number one! The dingo line yesterday and when in doubt last week just about had me tripping over my own feet. Good ones!

It was really made famous when Elaine on Seinfeld muttered it. She said it in the Australian accent just like Julie did. I'm guessing that's where Julie picked it up from.

yeah cause I've never seen the movie but I know the phrase (and have been known to say it on occasion)... I know it from the seinfeld episode. *does the Elaine dance* :goodvibes

I just realized! I'm hate speeching on dingos! Or is it dingoes? OH NO!!! I've become a hate-speecher!

:goodvibes :rotfl:

Huh...never knew this! I was never a huge Seinfeld fan. All I know about is the Soup Nazi and "Can you spare a square?"

And a little movie trivia...A Cry in the Dark was named the 9th best "courtroom drama" film by the AFI in their most recent countdown (the same countdown that stated that 9 of the 10 best "animated" films were Disney! YAY!)

As an Aussie, the phrase "a dingo ate my baybee" is one of those things that just sticks in your head. julie did a pretty good job of the accent the woman (Lindy Chaimberlain) had.

And yes, after several trials, inquests etc the woman accused was eventually freed and her conviction quashed.

But, please do not think all aussies have the same accent - when I am in the US, I am mostly accused of having a British accent.

To get some better views of Australia, check out Priscilla Queen of the Desert (sometimes I think of them when listening to Pete..), "The Castle" or "The Nugget"
