I'm going to WDW for the marathon weekend in Jan. Bought my ticket a month ago for around $157 round trip BDL to MCO. I came home early from work unexpectedly and looked at Ding. I got round trip $107 with about 10 minutes to spare before the offered expired. :cool1:

My husband works from home and was supposed to be watching for Dings but he didn't today. Thank goodness I was able to skip out of the office when I did!

It is a special fare offered through Southwest airlines. You go to their site and download software to your computer and every so often you get a "Ding" a little tone like on an airplane seatbelt sign. You click on the little icon that pops up and it gives you a list of Ding fares that are usually a great savings.

I can't download Ding to my work computer because of the company's firewall so I have to depend on my husband checking for me. He almost lost me a great fare!

With Ding you can get your ticket cheaper after you've already paid for a ticket at one rate? The OP said she already bought a ticket at $157 then got a ding... does that mean she gets refunded the difference to $107?

With SW you can rebook at a lower fare and get a tickless travel credit good for 12 months on the difference. I have done this many times. Sometimes the internet special fare is better than the DING fare and I have rebooked that fare and got the credit.

Our trip in October (DW, DD and myself) is being paid for with ticketless travel funds, nothing like going to FL without putting it on the CC.

Are there any deduction before you can take your credits? Say does SW charge anything? or does it credit you the difference?
