I wonder how many are suddenly going to show up being dumped on craigslist & eBay for a quarter of the price people bought them for WITH the coupon. Probably way more people bought one, who are now finding they never needed one because they have cable, a digtal TV, etc.

Well, I have my "box" installed on my television here in the office. I am now picking up only a handful of the stations that I use to get. I get NBC & FOX, but ABC & CBS are GONE! Yes, I rescanned after the conversion.

So much for the boxes.

I'd give it several hours before you reach any conclusions.

Actually, some of the switchovers are planned for 11:59:59 PM.

Also, note that you have to rescan for channels after channels switch, since some channels are changing frequency.

Just following up on your issues in Bowie, MD:

WMAR is much stronger than in the past, now on Channel 38.

WJLA and WUSA are weaker, due to their decision to switch back to VHF, so if you were marginal with them before you may have problems with them going forward. You'll need a better antenna.

WBAL and WJZ are now up on their new channels. However, WBAL is also back on VHF, and now weaker than it was before (their choice). Someone in Stirling VA can just barely get them in, but they're having trouble maintaining a lock. However you should have no problem in Bowie.
