The difference between lunch/dinner?

This might be a silly question, but is the difference between lunch and dinner at, let say, Le Cellier's just the time of day or is it the size of the portions? I know the cost is more for dinner just didn't know if there was anything else different. Thanks.

I've never noticed a difference in size of portions. However, I do know the menus are different for lunch and dinner.

the steak was a smaller size and came with yukon potatoes, not the cream cheese mashed potatoes but this time we are eating there for lunch again and i am going to request the mashed. hopefully they can accommodate!

the steak was still plenty to eat, in fact i didnt even eat all of it.

that was the only difference we experienced.

I know they have the mashed potatoes at lunch, because I was there once about a year ago when their fryer wasn't working and they asked if it was OK to substitute the mashed potatoes for the fries. Like they had to ask! YUM!
