I just found out that The Diamond Horseshoe will be open during my upcoming trip, but I'm sort of confused about it. Is this quick service, table dining, or both?? Is it included in the DDP? What sort of food do they have there?

When Diamond Horseshoe is open and serving food, it is the same food as Liberty Tree Tavern, i.e. table service.

If your trip is during free dining, the Diamond Horseshoe is being opened temporarily as an extra location for table service in the Magic Kingdom. It's not a buffet - it is a fixed menu served family style. Same menu as Liberty Tree. One TS credit.

Thanks for your quick replies! Ok.... I just looked it up on the Disney website and you can make a reservation using the online ADR. But from the way it's worded, it sounds as if it's both a QS and a TS! "Located in Frontierland, The Diamond Horseshoe is a fun, quick-service eatery during lunch and a Casual Dining restaurant serving all-you-care-to-eat American dishes during dinner service." I guess it's QS at lunch and a TS at night? Did I get that right?

Oh that's awesome! Maybe I'll try it for a CS... I don't even remember it being open during lunch last year.

It wasn't open for lunch last year - but it sounds like this year it is - as a CS.

When it was open full time, it sold quick service food (mostly sandwiches) and had a show. I doubt the show will return though. There's still a similar place at Disneyland (Golden Horseshoe)

It was open today as a CS. They had the menu outside, I remember a barbeque pork sandwich, a meatball sub, and I'm not sure of the rest. But it was definitely CS.

Oh cool! I might have to go there for lunch! Provided it's on the DDP! I'd also like to see for myself how they made it a QS and TS! Hmmm....... :]

According to the quote in one of the previous posts, it is a CS for lunch and a TS for dinner. TS is the same food as Liberty Tree so it's brought over from that kitchen. CS food they could probably bring in from anywhere.

I am confused. Another thread has Diamond Horseshoe as being refurb. Did it just open today?

Oh. Well that's a tad disappointing.

It will be open Aug 16-Oct 3. As for how it was open yesterday, perhaps it was overly crowded at MK... it seems from the posters here that the Diamond Horseshoe is used as a crowd-control method. But IDK?:confused3

At this point DH is usually not open at all unless they are using it for overflow dining.
