Trip report part 2

I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone else’s trip reports, while I’ve been planning this trip, so here’s mine...I’m afraid it isn’t a day by day one, as I really can’t remember which rides we went on and which shows we saw each day (how do the rest of you manage?!)

15-19th Feb 09 (half term)

We had an early start and got up at 3am on Sunday morning. We arrived at Birmingham airport with plenty of time for our 6.30 am flight to CDG.
After a quick flight we landed, got our cases within minutes, and walked briskly to gate 5 to our VEA coach. The coach filled up quickly and not everyone got on, so my advice is to look on your VEA schedule, and work out which gate you need to get to in advance.

The coach trip was pretty swift and the Cheyenne was the third stop. There was a fair queue to check in, but it moved quickly and we soon got our breakfasts booked, including a GMFLB at Bella Notte .

We wouldn’t be allocated a room until 3pm, so we then left our cases at the baggage store and headed off on the shuttle bus to the parks for a couple of hours first. As we entered Disneyland at lunchtime, Mary Poppins and co were singing and dancing in the bandstand, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and the whole place looked magical - as it should always be in Disneyland!

Our first stop was the carousel in fantasyland and we then headed onto to the tea cups and then to discoveryland.
We went back to the Cheyenne mid afternoon to collect our room key/card and unpack. We were in the Jesse James block which was nice and central, and we had a view of the river. It really is a well themed hotel and looks even better in real life than it does in photos! I much preferred it to the Santa Fe, and it was worth spending a few extra pounds to stay there.

I don’t know if this is a new addition to all the rooms, but there was a kettle provided. The beds were comfy, and the girls slept much better in bunks than they would have done sharing a double bed.

After unpacking and having a rest, we then returned to the park and headed back to the rides.

The order of rides and shows is a bit of a blur, but we did and saw almost everything we wanted to between us over 5 days. We found that we needed to split up, as dd1 and I, and dd2 and dh had different priorities when it comes to the rides! We wouldn’t have managed to get on all the rides we wanted to between us, if we all stuck together.

What a great entrance into the parks!!

I'd love to stay at the Cheyenne but we'll have to wait until our daughter can sleep in the bunk bed! Do the rooms just have one bed and the bunk beds?

Hi Booknut, yes the rooms have one double bed an a set of bunk beds. There might have been enough room for a travel cot, but not sure.
