I'm sure I've missed lots of important things and I hope to catch up soon. Won't be tonight though, Lost is finally back on  I need my Sawyer fix :lovestruc

:cheer2 - that's good to know! Season finale of season 1 airs on tv here tonight- we've already seen it though as I bought the season 1 dvd set on our trip - and we watched the remaining 12 episodes in 4 nights!

So we'll have to wait 'til next year to see season two on tv - but my brother's been downloading them on the net... I have the first 9 that we're just watching but he said you guys were on a break before episode 10 - I'll have to let him know the wait is over :goodvibes

I love Lost it's just great - but they always finish it leaving you wanting more and me shouting NNNOOOOOOOoooooo at the tv :rotfl:

Well I'm all caught up :goodvibes

I have :flower2: and :wizard: for the sick and pre-op kiddos

And  for the upcoming trips

:flower3:

Alrighty then, at now 80 pages behind I think I may give up on the idea of catching up. I'm just going to jump back in here and hope that I haven't missed my from page 55 to 135. It looks like Julia is feeling a little better at least. I hope the same goes for Nick and any one else sick out there. Things are well here despite a yucky day at work yesterday.

I do have a question for everyone though...do your kids seem unnaturaly warm natured? In my family I was always the last one to get cold. My mom can wear jeans and a sweatshirt when it's 80 degrees and be happy. Now we have our heat set at 70 degrees. Whether it is 20 or 45 outside we seem to have drafts in our 100+yo apartment house. In jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt I range from comfortable to a little chilly. Terra on the other hand ranges from naked to barely dressed and doesn't seem mind the temp. I offer clothes and ask if she's warm enough and usually she tells me that she's fine. Plus, to the touch her skin feels warm. Anyone else's little ones like this?

Mine are - I am ALWAYS cold - I can't get my kids to keep their clothes on - when I put blankets on them - they kick them off

now I might not be a good gage as my kids are both sick :rotfl:

everyone I know says the same thing

My DD is like that. She is ALWAYS hot. She gets it from her dad. I used to kid him saying that I had married the missing link since he's got his own fur coat. Katie wears short sleeved shirts and capris all through winter. It's frustrating to me since all my maternal instincts want her to bundle up in the winter.

I used to be warm all the time, too. Now that I've lost so much weight, and still dropping, I'm cold all the time. My fingers and toes just won't warm up!

Hey, everyone, I've got FABULOUS news! DH and I were talking last night and he is finally realizing that I'm totally serious about the half marathon. Anyway, he said, "If you're really planning on doing this, let's do it right. We'll celebrate your 40th birthday while we're there." Hooray! He actually is letting me start planning!

So, I'm turning to you, my DDA family for advice and suggestions. I need recommendations on where to stay (remember I'm a newbie, so the abbreviations go over my head), where to eat, how soon to make ressies, etc. Also, this is a very budget trip. We're still paying off my surgery, so we need to be a bit frugal. We'd love to stay onsite if it's affordable, but will go offsite if need be.

I want to start making a list of places to eat that you all consider "must do's." So, jump right in, I'm creating a file for all the great info you are going to be sending my way.

I'm so excited!!!!!

Prayers and pixie dust from me to you and Blake. I'm sure he will be thrilled with all of the ice cream he gets to eat! I am surpised...I didn't think they took out tonsils anymore. He must of had a lot of problems.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hey - you are never too old to have your tonsils taken out -- mine only came out 2 years ago! They say an adult has a harder time than a child with the surgery, but I had no problem whatsoever... and I haven't had strep throat since!!!

We keep the house at 67 degrees and I am usually in fleece slippers and a fleece overshirt. The boys are always running around in their underwear and don't understand how I could possibly be cold. Must be nice to be young.

YAY, GLYNIS!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Now, I can give you my long-winded analysis of WDW! :rotfl:

How many days do you think you guys will stay? With/without the kiddos? This will give us all a place to start inundating you with ideas!

As for restaurants - my current "must dos" are California Grill at the Contemporary (book a seat during Wishes), Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner, and usually Le Cellier at Epcot in the World Showcase (Canada). We also have started going to Beaches & Cream at the Yacht and Beach Club every trip (burgers, outstanding ice cream), but they don't take ADR's (Advanced Dining Reservations - used to be Priority Seatings).

Anyone get today's allears newsletter? Apparently you can now buy all of your photopass photos on a cd for $100 and you can then get them printed as many times as you like at walmart or at home on your printer!

Typical - why didn't i know that before I shelled out for 15 photos??

I'll remember next trip though :0)

One more thing...

Do any of you know where I can find children's gloves or mittens super cheap? I need about 20 pair for 5 year olds for DS's birthday party in February. I've checked EBay and that may be an option, but I'm looking for other ideas as well.

Thanks!

check clearance racks at Target and Walmart...those stretchy gloves are usually on clearance by now.

Our DD is exactly the same way. I try to keep her in clothes, but she always winds up running around the house in a shirt and underwear. Even at night I have a hard time covering her up. The covers are always kicked off by morning. But, like you said, her skin feels toasty warm anyway. And she hasn't been sick for awhile

Ok guys, I made 7 eye patches for Kristine's daughter. Here is a photo.

I also came up with this letter to send with it. If I had past and next trip dates I could make it more personal, but since Kristine's not on I don't have the info and need to get to the post office by 5 PM.

What do you think? Should I make any changes to the letter?

Deb

Hi Dawn - glad to see you are back. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

Glynis - my list of must-do restaurants is quite short: 50s Prime Time Cafe at MGM and LeCellier at Epcot. LeCellier is a little fancier, and 50s has fantastic food and atmosphere. Sometimes I think the atmosphere is better than the food!! I'm glad your husband realizes you are serious -- its a great way to celebrate a birthday!!! As I think of more "must-dos" I'll post them....

Steffy - I know exactly what you are going through. We took my parents last year, who have never been, and I wanted them to see EVERYTHING.

My vote is for December. It is such a wonderful time of year to go, with all the holiday stuff going on. Go with a generic shirt, tell her you are considering 2 different weeks, and the one that comes out with the better discount wins!

Tammy,

That's good advice. Thanks. I do love Christmas, and she would understand if I got a good deal and moved it up.....

Boy, if I just bought DVC all this would be for naught....... :goodvibes

I think the letter (and your making the patches) has to be one of the sweetest things to do for someone!

Deb - what a great idea!!! I think children always listen better when somebody other than their parents are talking!! I love that you made it from Cinderella, and I wouldn't change a thing. Its perfect the way it is.

You've reminded me why I hang out with the DDA :flower3:

Kristine's gonna be stoked :goodvibes
