Outten the lights or Put out the lights

Have you also heard "Up the Line" its never down the line but always up the line.

Becky

Becky,

Yes I have heard "up the line" the problem is, that I was raised in the south so sometimes I really get mixed up and have to think about what I say so someone will understand me. The funniest thing tho was when I worked for Bell Atlantic, we would have to ask the customer if they needed a new phone book or will they take the one they have with them. I would say "will you be taking your phone book with?" instead of adding the you at the end. Anywhere else one would look at me like are you going to finish your sentence or what :rotfl:

Well, it could have been better. We had planned on going to a theater here that has a restaurant in it so we could eat dinner while watching the movie. Unfortunately the showing was sold out, so we tried to find another theater. We finally found one with a showing that would get us home before midnight, and I thought, "ok, I won't get dinner, but I can at least get a pickle." No such luck! They didn't sell them there. DH got a huge Diet Coke and a large popcorn. Boy was I wanting to cheat, but I didn't!

And the movie! I love the story of King Kong, but they added so many creepy crawly things like 8 foot spiders, 15 foot long centipedes, killer crickets, etc. that I was squirming for at least 1 of the 3 hours. Once they got off that island it was a fantastic movie for me. However, DH loved it, so I guess it was good! To each his own, right.

It was nice just being the 2 of us. I do enjoy that!

I have always loved watching King Kong, but unfortunately with all those creepy things, I will have to pass. Steffy will be glad to tell you how freaked out I get  there were some things I just would not do while in WDW

Thank you Glynis!

Sure thing. I'm always looking for low carb recipes that are fast and easy to make and that sound like things my family will eat. If I come across any others that are really yummy, I'll share.

Oh, by the way, in the salmon recipe, there are 6 grams of carbs per serving (fillet). Most of the recipes I use have less than 10 grams of carbs per serving. And they're pretty low cal, too.

I hope you enjoy the salmon. It's my picky eater's favorite meal. He requests it very often.

Then definitely pass on this one! It just went on and on. It kind of reminded me of that scene in the second Indiana Jones movie. Remember? Where the girl has to put her hand in the hole that is crawling with things? yuck! Imagine that with every bug gigantic! Make me shudder just remembering back to last night. Like I said, though, DH loved it!

Yup we call those braces too ::yes:: or train tracks if they're the ones that are glued to your teeth like I had as a kid :rotfl: Just a nickname for them

I used to be told I had railroad tracks or the african gate and fence works on my teeth as a kid - guess here it would be American gate and fence works!! :rotfl2:

Diapers are nappies (we have terry toweling ones if you're environmentally friendly or disposable ones)

Pacifiers are dummies.

Correct, another one I get teased about here is we 'fall' pregnant and here they 'get' pregnant.

This is Vanna White. She has been on "Wheel of Fortune" for a bazillion years. It is a game where you guess the letters to a puzzle (i.e. Hangman where you win money instead of dying). In the original days, she actually turned the letters of the puzzle. Now days, she just touches them. Totally useless, but eye-candy I guess.

By the way, we hold up or stockings with garters.

Dang, I wish I could look that good and I am not even a Bazillion years old!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Oh yeah! Great big Kosher dill pickles! They are so good. Some theaters will also serve hot dogs (gag). I was looking forward to that pickle, since I knew there would be absolutely nothing else I could have eaten. Well, I guess I could have ordered the nachos and just eaten the cheese sauce, but have you ever tried to do that?

We do lots of unique things here in Utah. We are number one in the country for Jell-O consumption. Bill Cosby even came during the Olympics to congratulate us. There was even a highly coveted Olympic pin where lime jello figured prominently. I have one of those! We also do a yummy thing here called "fry sauce." Ketchup and mayo mixed together till it's all creamy and yummy. Sometimes people even add a little bbq sauce in it for a kick.

I'll have to see if I can think of some more. Oh yeah! Funeral potatoes. It's a pretty standard dish here.
