Vicki-

How is it that you are so much further up in post count from me?

How bad is it that I need to go to bed but I want to keep reading the DDA thread?

Denise get a turtle tattoo!! I think it would be cool!!

I've left to brush my teeth, let the dog out, lock up the house, but I keep coming back here to chat with the DDA. I really should get to bed and try to get some sleep.

Hi everyone...

We found out tonight that Christopher made the #1 team (for his age group) in the travelling soccer league. He was soooo excited!! Now the fun begins....it's quite the time commitment.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello in case anyone was worried ;)

We got home from our (amazing) cruise on Thursday at about midnight..... slept for 6 hours, showered, and closed on the house! Things were SO smooth. In and out in 45 minutes, with keys in hand -- thanks for the pixie dust before we left. In true Disney fashion, the cruise made me forget about EVERYTHING at home except maybe once or twice, for about 10 minutes at a time when I got online to check up on things.

I think Amy posted that I passed my test, so thanks for the confidence in that as well! I'm glad you all thought I could do it, becasue I didn't! ;)

This weekend has been hectic, as I assumed. We left our closing meeting a noon, then went to my parents to finish packing there. We took a few car loads to the new house and unpacked all night Friday. Saturday morning we picked up the UHaul (never again -- they have LOST our business, but I'd rather not rehash that ;) ) and moved every last thing from the storage unit to the house. My SIL (who, keep in mind, is normally entirely selfish) and her boyfriend were a tremendous help, as my parents were out of town all weekend in meetings for the church. So everything was unloaded as of yesterday, and we unpacked as much as we could but were BEAT. So we went and bought some necessity groceries and went to bed fairly early (well, 10:30 -- but early for the last few days!). Today we went to church, sams, and are back to unpacking -- hoping to be done tomorrow before Kyle starts on Tuesday.

I promise I took good notes for a trip report, and lots of pictures. I have most of them up on my desktop, but we won't have internet until this Friday ( ) I'm going through withdrawal (and also had to check for an important email  ) so I came to Panera for a bit and thought I'd pop in. You'd think we moved to the boonies, as all of our utilities, etc are taking almost a week to set up -- even though we called before we left! It's a new neighborhood, so I guess everything just takes longer. My poor mother keeps getting phone calls to look things up for us, as we don't even have a phone or phone book (besides our cells).

I really intend to catch up on every page (you know me) but I can't afford to sit here and start back on p2432, while Kyle is home working. So I'll be back when I can, and I'll catch up and share about our trip, etc.

Hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

Jennifer. YAY for the tests. YAY for the house and YAY for the wonderful trip. :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Can't wait for you to get internet!!!

When we went to see Cars, I didn't think it was all that long, but I forget that some people have kids younger than mine. :rotfl2: We didn't make it completely through the credits cuz when Abi's gotta go you gotta go!!

We got the Cars soundtrack and it's getting almost equal play time as High School Musical. Over half is just instrumental but it is a wonderful recording.

Glynis I am glad to hear you had a nice time, great trip report!

Denise wonderful picture of the triplets with their new bikes. So glad Rees is doing better :goodvibes Congrats on the new job as well!

Amy sounds like Matthew wants to make a surprise visit :rolleyes1

Tammi I am so sorry to hear your news. I wish I had some words of wisdom to help, but I don't. I can give you :grouphug: though & I will be thinking of you & your children.

Sorry if I missed anyone, I have not been doing to great at keeping up lately. Unless plans change, I have a new ticker! Dh & I are going to Europe & I will get to go to DLP :cheer2: Anyone been there that can give me some tips?

WTG Janet! Paris! OMG that is so wonderful....

I must say that I can't get Tammi and here obvious shock from her dh off my mind. I told Chris all about it and we sat down and had a nice talk. Sometimes it takes bad news to make us look at the reality around us. I'm happy to report that we both think our relationship is on solid ground and Chris was happy to solidify the relationship ;) . I'm thankful that Tammi was able to share here as it may have helped some of us reach out to a loved one, just because... Tammi, please let us know if we can help you in any way. You are most definitely on my mind and in my prayers.

I felt exactly the same way when I heard the news. Luckily, Chuck & I spent the week-end discussing our life & marriage. We are both happy with where we are right now as a couple.

Tammi and the kids will continue to be in my thoughts & prayers. It is not an easy transition even when it is expected. Having it be a surprise will make it even more difficult. I am hear to listen and if there is anything else we can do from a distance!

Chuck was able to handle the drive to Houghton so that we could attend the 25th anniversary cruise for our closest "couple" friends. They were our first neighbors when we got married. We all lived in married student housing at Michigan Tech. The cruise was fabulous. The weather was beautiful with the sun shining but a little bit of a breeze so that we weren't miserably hot. It was a dinner cruise and the meal was fantastic. They had friends from Atlanta fly in for the week-end. Bob's family came from Michigan City, Indiana. The rest were local friends besides our 2-1/2 hour drive. Liz was surprised. Though, Bob did almost ruin the surprise by passing on an e-mail to her with Brian & Teresa's (TeresaJoy) contact info. It said something about the surprise for Liz. Luckily, Liz thought the surprise was for when they were in Wisconsin on their vacation (which they leave for tomorrow) as their anniversary isn't until Tuesday.

If you missed it on Friday, here is a website with info on the cruise that we went on. http://www.keweenawexcursions.com/

Vicki,

I'm so glad Chuck made it to the cruise. It looked wonderful.... Happy Anniversary again....

Thank you for all of your Birthday wishes I greatly appreciate them.

I went to Red Robin for my Birthday lunch. I got my free Whiskey BBQ chicken burger because I am signed up for their Birthday club online and they brought me a huge slice of their Mudd Pie, it was delicious. I also went to Hersheypark, I had a great time at lunch and at Hersheypark, except I got a headache, plus I happened to be a real Klutz today.

On the way out of Red Robin, I rammed my knee into a bench, at Hersheypark my ankle started giving out on me, it happened about 4 times, the one time I almost fell, I'm thinking it might have been the shoers I was wearing, as I normally wear sandals. I will have to monitor my ankle to see if it does it again, as it didn't even do this right after I sprained it last year. Since I had a headache the whole time at Hersheypark I didn't really ride any thrill rides like I normally do the only one I rode was Lighting Racer.

Getting onto the train I hit the front of my head on the roof. To top it off when I sat down on the Reese's Extreme Cup challenege I klunked the back of my head on the seat when I sat down. I don't know what was with me today but I was mighty Klutzy :confused3

Reese's Extreme Cup Challenge is like the Buzz Lightyear ride except there are two cars attached together, each car holds 4 people. One is for team Hershey bar and the other is for team Peanut Butter Cup. They are challenging against each other to see if Peanut Butter or Chocolate is better. It is a neat ride but the targets are hard to hit. Everyone gets a piece of candy at the end.

I came home and took a nap to rid myself of the headache and now I am awake and headache free as I was called by my Aunt to wish me a Happy Birthday. I hope I get back to sleep as tomorrow, I must go to work in the morning to do weekly paperwork since my manager is away and leave and then go back to close.

I really did have a good Birthday despite the headache and me being super Klutzy. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ok, I'm off to bed. I need to check on Chuck to see how he is doing plus should try to get some sleep myself. He wakes me up about 5-10 times a night. Usually, I sleep through his restless nights but with the current situation I think I'm sleeping lighter as I want to keep an eye on him.

Sleep tight my DDA friends who are still here or may come on later tonight. Good morning to all my other DDA friends.

Yes, I have been thinking abut her as well...that was me at one point...3 little kids and 1 teenager. It does get better..but it takes time.

I'm really getting worried about Chuck. He is getting worse. I sure hope the Celebrex starts doing what it is supposed to soon. We got two beds last night because he is having so much trouble sleeping and he wanted to try sleeping in his own bed. He has said that there are times in the night when I put my hand on his shoulder and he wants to scream because of the pain. I'm praying that this is viral. He is such an active person. We've been talking about our plans for after Becky graduates and it all involves camping, biking, kayaking & hiking trips. I'm worried if this can't be resolved, that the next issue we'll be dealing with is his depression. I'm already starting to see that it might become an issue. June 21st can't come fast enough for me. Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers. It helps!!!

Colby loved Cars and it was really a good length for a 3 1/2 yr old. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with kids.

I went fabric shopping today. Colby has had the same 2 blankets since birth and one is starting to fall apart. They are ones that I made for him, cotton print on one side, fleece on the other and a satin binding. Both are light blue (one Winnie the Pooh and one Bunny). He drags them everywhere. I've made others since, but he refuses them unless his favorites are in the wash. He finally agreed to let me make him a replacement blanket, much larger as he is getting so big. The catch is that he wants Donald Duck fabric. I can't find Donald Duck fabric other than small amounts on ebay for high shipping costs. Anyway I saw the Cars fabric at Walmart and thought that he would like it. His bed is a little tykes racecar bed so I thought the theme was perfect. So I bought the fabric. I ended up going to Kmart and they have all kinds of stuff for Cars. They even had a Cars toddler bedding set. I ended up buying it and the wall decals and the Cars lounger. His room now has a Cars theme. I'm thinking of using the fabric that I bought for valances instead of a blanket as he is still insistant on Donald Duck for his new blanket. So if anyone sees any Donald Duck fabric please keep me in mind. I did see a tropical print at Joann's with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy, but I'm still hoping for just Donald.

The girls at work gave me TURTLE soap and several other turtle things. I told them about y'all and the turtle joke, so now I get kidded about it everywhere. I think the turtle will be my mascot. Maybe I should get a turtle tatoo?

You could always do a "hidden turtle" motif in your classroom. Or would that be too much? :teeth:
