Still responding to Denise:

You know how there are some people in life who use the excuse that they just have too many kids to volunteer their time?

These are the people I am complaining about!

I can't go up to school and help out b/c I have Nick and no one to watch him while I go - but I do find other ways to be involved - I just don't think using the fact that you have a lot of kids as a reason to not volunteer is a cop out!!

I know everything you do and I don't think anyone would ever say you are an uninvolved parent!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry if I offended you!!

I'm not offended, I was just offering my opinion on how the other side might feel. And just because you don't volunteer at church, doesn't mean those parents aren't active and volunteering in other areas such at PTO, Boy or Girl Scouts, coaching their child's sports team. There is only so much time I have to volunteer, and I do it at church. But I'm very grateful to those parents who spend their time with my children in the other activities they participate in. I was just trying to show both sides of the coin. No flaming at all.

Well, I'm back from book club. It was really interesting tonight. The book we read was told from the point of view of a boy with Asberger's syndrome. One of our members also has a son with the disease, and it was interesting to get her take on the book.

Lindsay - enjoy Hawaii! You so deserve it! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Jennifer - enjoy your cruise! You and Kyle are going to have so much fun!

Kate - :grouphug: to you as you try to figure out all the VBS stuff. I'm glad that you feel you can vent here. Makes me feel like part of the family. Our church doesn't do anything like VBS, so to hear you all talk about it is a new experience for me.

Denise - Good luck on the doctor's appointment tomorrow! I'll be sending good thoughts.

You know, I was thinking as I read the last few posts, that our children are so lucky! From what I can tell about all of you, you are loving, caring mothers who want only the best for your children, and all the other children around you. That's an amazing thing! Something to be proud of! I admire all of you for all the volunteering you do! You all inspire me so much! I just hope you know how important you are, not only to your own kids, but to so many other people. I just wanted you all to know how much I admire all that you do.

Gift certificates are great for teacher gifts. You can always use a $5 or $10 one to a restaurant or shop. My fave to get is Target or WalMart. Everyone can use those! The aprons are great that Kate made. Next year in Kindergarten I'll have 3 K teachers, 3 K Parapros, Rees' PT, OT, and Speech Therapists, Rees' special Parapro, Music/PE/Art/French teachers. I better be on the lookout for practical and CHEAP gifts! Y'all will have to help me think of ideas or I will be BROKE! That's 14 people!
Wow. They have French in Kindergarten in public school? :confused3

To be honest with you, it is not a bad thing it just takes awhile to get your money back and free cash flowing. If you want to read a great book try Rich Dad Poor Dad, it was a great read for us.

We are trying another rental in AZ, but this time we have a property manager who is all that and a bag of chips. She is a “this is how it is” with both tenants and us. If we don’t pay her maintenance guy with in a week of him doing work on the house, she calls us and reminds us he is worth it and we need to take care of it now.

So the house up the hill was a bad idea, but so far the house in AZ is great.

Now don’t get the idea that we are made of money, we are not. We are just rolling the dice and hope we come out ahead in the future. As of now we are upside down in the AZ house but it’s only bee about 6 mths, so we have a few more to go before we come out even, then a few more before we take a profit.

With the girls so young we figure we have a little time for this to work out.

I want to be a Real-estate Mogul!!:lmao: So I can just drop what ever and fly off to Disney or vacation in Europe whenever I get a wild hair.

:cool1:

Back to the real world for now. :teeth:
:yay: Me too. I wanna be able to vacation at Disney whenever. :teeth: I'm just hoping DH's company will start paying off better for all the years the kids and I have been home alone.

Sounds like you are going to have a tremendous birthday! Happy Birthday to Daniel!!! Let us know how he likes the day.
missed it party: :cake: :bday: Daniel.

Wouldn't it be nice if companies really took into account the long hours wives are homes with their kids while their DH's are working!!!!!!

By the way - if I were home with 4 stitches - I would want a lot more compensation!!! I have a Lilo and a Stitch and they are plenty for me!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, some pictures! :)

This is my new niece Taylor! :goodvibes She is nine months old. I was so happy to meet her, but Alyssa didn't like me holding her too much. It should be interesting to see her reaction when Matthew gets here!

This is Cousin Becca...she's a year and a half older than Alyssa, but she towers over her!

Such cute pics. I would definitely prep Alyssa for when Matthew arrives. ;)

Yep, his business partner up until a couple years ago didn't have any obligations now he's married with a baby and all of a sudden wondering about the long hours they have required of each other. ETA: my family thinks DH owning his own business is all roses what they don't realize is he works harder than he would if he had a job for someone else. And after 9/11 we went several months without pay as the company paid the employees and bills before us. It has some benefits but also has downsides.

Here are some pictures from the fifteen minutes we spent on the zoo carrousel yesterday! Perhaps she'll ride every animal by the end of the summer! :teeth:
Lots of cute pics. Effie doesn't like the swings for some reason but he loves slides.

Just wanted to stop in and say HI! I will be back on to update everyone on what's been going on and where I've been. I know I will have A LOT to catch up on! Missed Everyone!!

Keep it down tonight, will ya ladies (and gents)? I'm off to book club. This months book was The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. I really enjoyed it. I'll check in tomorrow, but I don't know how much time I'll have. I have to run errands all day tomorrow to get ready for our trip. I'm even trying to work in a haircut. We'll see how it goes!

Have a great evening!
 How exciting. When do you leave?

Ok, DDAs -- I'm off to bed soon, but if I could request a few prayers that would be great! My test could use a few, but that's really less concerning than all the other stuff I have to get done before bedtime tomorrow. We have some things to take care of before we leave, but some involved parties aren't really cooperating enough to allow me to set sail stress free. :guilty:

I'm sorry I can't provide more details, but God knows what's up.... and maybe Tinkerbell does too? :confused3 ;)

Nothing is wrong with any of us.... in fact, there is nothing but good stuff going on in our lives (well, after about noon tomorrow ;) ) -- there are just a few things that have to fall into place before we leave and are unable to be contacted without $7.00/minute phone calls!

I plan on checking in tomorrow and/or Saturday, but if not then I'll talk to you soon!
Have a great cruise. :drive: :wizard: for everything to fall into place.

I had my knee surgery today and it was a breeze. We have a new surgery center and they had me in and out in less than 21/2 hours. At the hospital two years ago when I had this same surgery it took almost 5 hours to get in and out.

They also used some differnt kind of anesthesia and i felt great and very alert when I awoke from surgery. I was very impress.

I will be on crutches until Sunday afternoon adn then will be able to walk normal.

I had a torn meniscus and that part was removed. Everthing went great. I am on pain med as I am typing this so if I sound strange please excuse me. LOL

:wizard: I hope your recovery goes smoothly and quickly. Nice to see you. :goodvibes

Boy, do I hear you on those things that annoy you. As far as putting Julia in with her best friend, that is one of the few perks that you get for volunteering so much of your time. I felt it was the least I could do for my kids with all the stress I was under in volunteering so much of my time which in turn stressed out my kids (even though I tried to have my stress affect them as little as possible).
Wow, I missed another post. I must be  Kate, I think you have every right to be frustated. If someone waits til the last minute than they shouldn't be soo picky. As for the shirt who cares if you'll ever wear it again, I have bridesmaids dresses still in the closet only worn one night and cost more than $7 :rolleyes1 . :wizard: I hope things get easier and less stressful.

In case I forget, I'll be gone Saturday morning to Monday night. Chuck & I are going camping to our favorite campground. We used to camp there as young newlyweds. We'll celebrate our 24th anniversary there on Monday and then come home.

I will also be gone next Saturday morning through Sunday night as well. Becky has a leadership conference to attend in Lansing and I'm supposed to drive her there. I'm trying to rearrange things someone else taking her so Chuck & I can attend my friends 25th anniversary party but don't know if I'll be able to swing it. Either way I'll be gone that Saturday & Sunday.
Have fun camping. :sunny:
