my3princes said:It looks like she will need the prednisone and the antibiotic for the rest of her life to treat the Immuno Deficiancy disease. It is called Pemphigus. The doctor didn't stress that it was life threatening in anyway however the article I just read said that it can be difficult to treat. I have my fingers crossed that the low dose prednisone works well for her.

PNO4TE said:Deb - I hope your weekend is not a total washout. Hopefully there will be some sunshine mixed in with those raindrops. I also hope that your dog gets on well with the prednisone. Sounds to me like they may be using it to take care of the inflammation from the UTI. Is it going to be something she needs to take on a regular basis? Button will be on it and the flourinef for the rest of her life. But the upshot is that she HAS a rest of her life!

tmfranlk said:Good night all!! After work tomorrow Terra and I are picking up the rental car for getting to the airport the next morning (makes an early flight so much easier if I can get a good rate). After Phil gets done at his doctor's appointment, I'm hoping to talk Phil into taking me out to dinner for my birthday/Mother's Day before we go. So, in case I don't make it back online tomorrow...I'll talk to you all Wednesday after we get back. Have a great weekend everyone!!!
BTW - Phil had an appointment today with the oncologist and she said that his blood counts all look good. The MRI on his spleen didn't show much change from the one she did over three years ago. So...the good news is that so far everything looks good. His spleen still has overactive issues which could lead to problems later, but there are no signs of lymphoma or other nasty words like that right now. The oncologist doesn't feel the need to see him for another year when she wants to retest everything so that sounds like a good sign too.
The only thing of concern is that some of his other blood work is a little funky. For example, despite taking Vitamin D supplements, his Vit D levels are low. So, the next stop will be an endocronologist to see what's up there. The leaning is hyperparathyroid, but I have no idea what that means so I'm just kind of going along with the flow. I guess we'll see in a month or so after that appointment.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. I could tell that Phil felt noticibly psychologically after his appointment so things are defintely looking up.
for the next few appointments and your trip!
Do you think security will have a problem with that?!?!?Tammi67 said:I've never seen them there, but I've never really looked for them either. We seem to have one for each season/holiday. But it would be fun to have a Mickey one to put out for each upcoming Disney trip!

Steamboat Marti said:Yes, but I have your address and I'll let it be had for .50!! But Paula, You can pay me $2 not to let it out...![]()
Steamboat Marti said:Anything new with that???
for us!
PNO4TE said:I hope so too! We have been able to cut the dosage to 1/2 pill every other day, which has helped with the water-weight gain. But the Flourinef cannot be changed at all, so we are stuck with that huge bill for the next few years at least.
UP Disney said:Yes, but you could have made some real money! They might have started a bidding war the way you handled it.
