Nick woke up - he has been crying about his head again

whenever he starts to cry he holds the top of his nose and tries to blow whatever is bothering him out - but his sinuses have been checked inside and out - this is so damn frustrating!!!!

I know this is hard not knowing what is wrong and not being able to make it better. Prayers for Nick that the doctors gain some insight and wisdom to the problem and can give him the help he needs. And strength and calm for you through this trying time.

Ding - Ding - Ding We have a winner!!!


With all the pixie dust -- the DDAers must have been shining - Paul got the job he wanted!!!

But it is more than likely that he will work 5am to 3pm shift -- and that means I'd be getting Matt on the bus. Currently my wonderful husband gets up everyday to get Matt on the bus. But this is a great move for our family. And Paul is pretty psyched!

So I experienced something new today -

when I walked up my steps today - with the brace on - I think it was the first time I have ever done it with my knee cap in the correct position

It was really hard and a lot of work to do it - it was one of those moments when you realize how wrong something is - b/c you never knew it was out of whack

I honestly don't see how I will ever be able to get my knee to be able to hold it in that position - I was out of exhaused just from the effort it took me to get up the steps

I'm sorry to hear the problem with your knee. Prayers for healing with your it.

My PT told me it actually enables the muscles to stay week b/c the brace will be doing the work -

I think it was just hard b/c the kneecap was in a new position

I look at Nick holding his head though and feel ridiculous for even letting this bother me - he must be so confused and not understand what is going on

If they think it's migraines Can kids take any migraine medicine?

I have to hold him down - put it in his mouth and tell him he can't get up until he chews it - I wonder how long before he just gives in

Can you do the liquid tylenol?

hey guys...
just wanted to give the rest of the update i have on alyssa...here is what her mom posted today :

On Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 06:15 a.m., Alyssa went with God through Heaven's Gates. Be assured she was comfortable and without pain. Know that Alyssa loved you all sooooo much. I know you will all miss her greatly as my heart has broken too and aches for her. I do know that she has finally "beat" cancer for the last time in that where she is there is no pain, no sorrow. Just green pastures for horesback riding and joy. Thanks so much to everyone there for Alyssa and us both physically and in spirit. What a tough job for her nurses Wednesday night and Thursday morning, Ela, Grisel, Zelia and Joe. Special thanks to Natalie for staying with Alyssa until she was ready to go "downstairs". The nurses and child life staff provided such awesome care to Alyssa and us as a family. We will never forget them as well. Dr Sprinz and Dr Richardson will also hold special places to our hearts for giving such effort with compassion to such a horrible, unpredictable disease such as neuroblastoma.

I will have to miss the viewing and funeral as it is a 4 hour drive and we all have work, so im kind of upset about that,,but we will go up in a few weeks when things settle down a bit..
i really appreciate having somewhere to post..its been a real rough day and i cant seem to stop crying..thanks all

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you can go up when the time is right. for all of you in this time of grief. May God give you comfort and peace.

I had an AWWWW moment with Julia tonight

I bought her a Bratz coloring book for dinner

it is all about Fashion and they ask all sorts of questions

one of them was: I couldn't live without my...

I thought she would say skirt or crocs or dvds or toys

her answer

Steve always tells me he doesn't sleep well without me in the bed - that is just not fair of him to put that sort of pressure on me -

he goes to bed around 10 - I am a night owl

besides he gets up around 4 or 5 sometimes - would he stay in bed with me awake if it helped me sleep better? that would be a big fat NO!!

My DH is an early to bed early riser I am more a night owl and I hate mornings Wonder why opposites attract?

Kate - doesn't he wake you up? I am such a light sleeper I can't stand it when John has to get up early.

I wear earplugs now. Used to lose a lot of sleep our first year of marriage til I thought of this (He also snores and that keeps me awake w/out plugs) Ironically enough even with plugs I'm first to hear the kids or baby cry

That's me. He puts off so much body heat I can't stand it. Stay on your own side!

Too funny. I also can't stand how much heat DH puts off especially in the summer when it's 80 degree outside!

Okay, I have to take a moment in my catching up to share my "Ewwwwwwwww" moment of the day. So I'm reading this novel today that involves a pirate-based virtual reality game. The main character is in a brothel talking to the owner. The owner mentions the name of the island that they are on. However I missed that and thought that she was telling the name of the brothel - Turtle's Back! I busted out laughing in the middle of my office (was reading while my computer rebooted for the 10th time).
