The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 6

Shouldn't I be more excited about my trip in a week? I'm feeling guilty for leaving the kids & DH at home. I've told them (uh... the kids) that I'm going on a business trip in FL and that if they are good I could get them a surprise at the airport. I haven't told Joe or Emma that I'm taking Lizzie on 5/19. I know Lizzie will have a great birthday trip and Joe did have a solo trip last Aug (and will likely have one in Oct) but I just know that Joe will be heartbroken. I think he's my real Disney fanatic-he loves TTA and CoP. He told me a few weeks ago "Mom I've never been to Disney when I'm 5 so I want to go tomorrow." I think I might make a count down chain for him for our Aug trip before I tell him about Lizzie's trip. But maybe a chain 100 links long would make it worse???? He's also been have some middle child problems lately too. I know he feel neglected-Lizzie needs attention after school with homework and Emma like being a baby. My poor little sensitive guy.

I think I'm also not too excited because I've got a lot to do to get ready-pack, make a shirt & card for Lizzie for the Pooh characters to sign, get stuff ready for DH and lots of work too. I want to make more autograph cards for my trip with Lizzie so I should probably do that before I go too.

Well I guess I better get to bed so I can face all that work.

Beth- :grouphug: well, now you've inspired me!!!

I never gained much pregnant 15 pounds with Lizzie & Joe and just 8 pounds with Emma and she was 8 lbs 13 oz. BUT...I had a thyroid problem after I had Joe and gained over 40 pounds in a few shorts months and I wasn't thin to start. The thyroid problem went away but not the weight and then I was pregnant with Emma. When Emma was 1 I decided it was time to take the time for myself. I switched to Diet Coke and stopped going to Dunkin Donuts. I quickly lost 10 pounds and then joined WW and lost another 45 pounds. Since my Mom got sick a year ago I have been off plan. I made myself get on the scale today and I'm up 10 to 12 pounds. I would like to loose those 10 plus another 20 but that is still like 30 pounds over the WW weight. I'll be 45 soon so the weight goes up. I have never been the WW weight at my full adult height. I don't want to be a size 6 or 8 or even 10. I'd be pretty happy with a size 16 and very happy with a 14.

When I joined WW I rewarded myself $10 Disney Dollars for every pound lost. I figured I was saving by not going to Dunkin Donuts and brown bagging my lunch.

SO...how much can I loose in a week before my trip? Even a couple of pounds would make those shorts more comfortable. And 20 pounds seems like a reasonable goal for August and I know that would make me more comfortable there.

So...I'll join you.
I have had a thyroid problem and have been struggling with my weight for several years. I was a 5/6 in HS and am embarassed to even tell my mom my size now. I know I need to get my a** in gear. I hate looking in a mirror and purposely stayed out of the vacation pics from DL. I want to join the family pics without shame. Maybe we can all help encourage each other.

I am looking for orange, purple, and blue (medium blue or navy) Crocs knock-offs for the kids. In Crocs the kids need a size 12-13 (the 10-11 fit snug). Anybody seen knock-offs in these colors? I'm having trouble finding them. If you find any, I'll pay you for them and shipping costs. Thanks for the help!

Guys - could we have a noticeboard in the new site? For stuff like this?

A wanted section - things they don't sell in your area... crocs and candy, stuff you need from WDW - mouse ears etc

And a I have for sale section - old Disney memorabilia you just can't house, crocs that don't fit - old MNVSHP colstumes - baby clothes...

What do you all think?

ps Denise I hope someone can find the crocs for you :)

Denise - I saw purple girl crocs yesterday - they do not have 12s there and I bought Nick royal blue clogs - again they did not have them at that one - it is where I called - but I have to go over there tomorrow so I can have them check all the other stores for me

also - if anyone sees the tie dye ones in a size 9 - we can't find them for Julie - I tried to order them online and they are sold out now -

Kate you should have bulk bought those - they're selling on ebay for $24 + postage! Apparently they're now rare... and here was me thinking about asking someone to get me a pair! Think I'll have a look what other colours are around.

Look at these Crocs I just ordered for Julia and Myself

They only come in kids sizes so I am hoping I can fit in the largest one - the lady in the store told me they are about a 7.5 so I am hoping with the dryer trick I can stretch them

Speaking of the dryer trick - I managed to stretch my straps :cheer2: but a little too much :sad1: :rotfl:

I put them round the back of the shoe like Julia suggested which would have been fine if I'd then taken them back off and put them round my heel while they were still warm, but I left them round the back of the shoe till they cooled down and now they're a little too stretched!

Oh well at least I can wear the straps now - but they're not exactly holding my foot in the shoe :rotfl:

Love that design BTW I just saw them on ebay :thumbsup2

I got them online -

Right now payless is BOGO so I got two pairs for $20!!

When you order them pick in-store delivery - they will send them to the payless of your choice and then you can just pick them up

They said they would not ship immediately - which makes me think they are just rolling them out - so maybe they will hit the stores this summer but there was NO way I was taking a chance on not getting them!!

Anyone seen or tried these ones?

I'm not sure about the orange and that's all they have this month - I'm pretty sure last month they were blue. The look quite comfy... might have a look on my trip but wondered if anyone had actually tried them on and what they fitted like?

Very cool! I'm on my way to order them now! Hopefully, I'll be able to squeeze my feet into a 7.5. I normally take an 8. I may have to wear them with the strap up instead of around my heel. Thanks for the heads up!

Glynis - it's very easy to stretch the strap so it doesn't touch your heel! Read my post a couple above :teeth:

This tooth fairy needs to go get some gold dollars! Do Disney dollars come in $1 or just $5 and $10?

They come in denominations larger than that, too. You can find them on eBay, if the tooth fairy's wings won't make it all the way to WDW before the tooth comes out.

Okay, everyone else has shared their Easter photo. Here is mine (plus a few others):

Here is Eloise, my Build a Bear Workshop bunny. Since Vicki has her Pal Mickey, I feel comfortable sharing Eloise with you without you thinking I'm nuts for having her. My mom got her for me since I travel so much for work so that I'd have someone from home with me in the hotel room. Here she is in her Easter dress and tiara from the new WDW Bibidi Bobidi Boo-tique along with her friend Meadow the lamb, also in her Easter dress.

Because every good DD should have one, here she is in her princess dress:

Here she is in the crocs I bought for her on Friday, which was opening day at the new store in Northpark:

Here is a close up shot of Eloise's crocs:

It's the best of both worlds for me. I get a little girl to dress, without worrying about babysitters or saving for college.

Next up: making a few t-shirts for her.

While at Northpark Mall last Friday night, you'll never guess what I saw.

TURTLES!! in the in-door pond.

Someone asked for photos of DBF's and my spring break WDW and DCLx2 trip in late March/early April. Here are a few of us on pirate night. We bought the shirts in St. Augustine, FL last Fourth of July. Berry's is Pirate Dog and mine is Salty Dog (they say that on the front).

Here is Berry:

Here is me (not my best angle):

And here is a self-photo of us (thank goodness for Berry's super long "monkey arms.")

Also, here are the ribbons we won and the trophy I won in Mr. Toad's Jumping Contest onboard. The contest consists of trying to get your wooden toad across the finish line before your opponent's. My toad was Rosa and his was Pig. Don't ask.

All the other photos are from the boat, which we adore. If we ever win the lotto, we are moving into one of the suites and never moving out.

I think the 2cd parade is less crowded :goodvibes Not that I would know, we missed both last year  But it is a must do this time!

Eeyorecln said:
I know we want to see the parade and fireworks. Is the first or second better for some reason? :confused3

Halloween night sells out the quickest. For the earlier dates there is no need to rush.

Eeyorecln said:
Does anyone know how fast do you have to buy them before they sell out. I know at DL last year they sold out of their's pretty quickly. Not sure about WDW.?.

Glad to hear everyone had a great time! The video was a good idea!

The Party is over!!! :teeth: It was very nice. I really had no idea how many people would show up, but the invitation went out to about 60 people. The weather was rainy here today. We had about 30 people actually show up and a few people called with unexpected company or sickness issues so they couldn't come.
