Kugel - woman who is always made up and lots of jewelery and never does anything at home and whines when she talks.

See -- on Long Island (or at least in my husband's family) that is called a floumer.

I remember this vividly too. But my reason is that our younger DD was 15 months old at the time...

Elin,

Depending on what day you come home and if you come close to Lancaster, maybe Steffy and I could meet you at a rest stop. Allentown is just over 2 hours away from us

I used a lot of boxes from the reams of paper from my office, maybe Kevin can get some of those, they are a good size and have lids so you don't have to tape and they stack well too!!

I'm going to ask my former co-workers at the high school to save these for me, but they're on spring break this week. Those are the best boxes!

Just stopping by...

Not in Vegas yet....I am just in a cranky/depressed mood! I am not really a moody chick...so not sure what this all means...so if you don't see me around this is why. Hopefully the fog will lift soon....

Kristine

Anything I can do to help????? I've got loads of Easter candy left I could mail you! Sugar free, in fact!

I hate it when I get in those depressed moods. Sometimes, it's just best to give in and give yourself permission to be unhappy! Buy yourself your favorite ice cream, rent your favorite "cry" movie and send the kids away for the day/evening and let yourself go! It does wonders!

Meanwhile, I'm sending you loads of

For some reason, I keep getting "Working Mother" magazine in the mail. I'm not a working mother for Pete's sake, I have grown grandchildren. I have no idea why it started popping up in my mailbox. Anyway, there's a recipe in it this month that made me think of Marti.

Marti - this one's for you.

Coconut Dream (don't let the name fool you)

2/3 cup fresh or canned pineapple chunks
1-1/4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Reserve a few chunks of pineapple for garnish, then puree remaining ingredients. Makes 3 cups.

TIP: One 20-ounce can of pineapple chunks yields enough juice and pineapple for this recipe.

Sounds like a Dole Whip milkshake!

You've got to love it when somebody opens a magazine, sees a recipe and thinks of you. Life is good!!!

No, I don't have you down for the cruise. Did you want one then? What dates? I have you getting a Pal before you leave on May 27. Where are you going then?

In May we are going on the Magic, the first official double dip to Castaway Cays.
September the 1st we fly to Vancouver (very happy Delta is still around) for 2 weeks cruise in Alaska returning 17th. If none are available that is fine.

Amy - how are you ever going to choose which pictures to buy???? I'd buy every single one of them!!!!

I did (except that last pose). Now keep in mind, I was ordering for five sets of grandparents too (both Kevin and I come from divorced families), but I spent $165! That includes joining their portrait club though, since Matthew will be here for pictures soon. :goodvibes

And, I loved your paper towel packing tip Marti! Thanks!

Amy :)

Is Kristine in Vegas?

I'm sorry - I meant to answer this - I believe she leaves for Vegas on the 28th.

ETA: I REALLY should finish reading before I post!!

Also - is this site the slowest site you have on your computer, or is it just slow for me???

This sounds just like Lorelai Gilmore's advice to Rory when she broke up with Dean - "Sometimes you've just got to wallow."

It's the best advice that my mom ever gave me. You just can't holdt those feelings inside, or you get worse! Give yourself permission to feel badly, and then don't kick yourself about it.

That's much less than I thought you'd get away with - I know your families are large and that's where I figured your money would go! But they are really, really cute.

And I use the paper towels for EVERYTHING - and I've never been happier.
