Dinner was so much fun. :goodvibes Julia and Lynn are wonderful. We had a really good time. We talked for 3+ hours. :hyper2: Poor waiter, we didn't even order for almost an hour 'cause we couldn't find the time to look at the menu. I had the Thai Steak Salad, Lynn had crab cakes and a salad, and Julia had the salmon salad. And of course we had Diet Coke to drink. :drinking1 I think we each had 3 or 4 glasses. All of us got cheesecake to go. Hunka, I got John the Oreo chocolate! I've had a little of my Carrot Cake Cheesecake. It's so rich. We're going to do a family cookout this summer with the kids and husbands. It was wonderful to meet some DDAers!

Here's a picture of us after dinner. BTW, Lynn commented on how her b**b makes my waist look so tiny! I told her she has to be in all my pictures from now on. :rotfl:

L-R: Lynn, me, Julia

Fabulous photo gals! Good to hear you had a great time. NOW tell use about the cheesecake.

That was so cute because you were really sick and had no idea. We just kept waiting and waiting.

Any day now.....:lmao:

I think it is the second child thing. If you ask Kate about Julia, she will probably tell you how easy going she is and sweet and etc. Nicholas is like that for me, but Alyssa (2nd child) is VERY headstrong and she has a mind of her own. We go through daily battles about what shoes and clothes she will wear. The rule is you have to wear old shoes/clothes to daycare (the 3 days that she goes) but she wants to wear her pretty dresses and white dress shoes on a daily basis. For the past 2 months she has been asking to wear her summer 'spin around' dresses even though it has been way to cold, which promptly lead to arguments. This, coming from a child just shy of 4! I dread the teenage years!!!

ETA: See, I told you Kate would disagree. ;)

I was going to say that sounds just like my 3rd. She was so headstrong that she needed speech therapy because she didn't want to copy anyone and speech is all mimic. But Emma doesn't go for the 'spin around' stuff. She like black and navy blue. Her 1st multi word sentence was "no PINK pants!" On the Friday before Easter I had her try on a beautiful pink puffy dress my SIL made Lizzy. Emma let me take pictures of her in it but it was sort of like dressing up for Halloween-not something she'd actually be seen out of the house in. But I was able to use that dress to get her into another one. "Emma you have to wear a dress to church. Do you want the pink one or the blue one." I did have white capris in the closet just in case.

She's also the wild one of the bunch. Joe is more "active" than Lizzy but he's afraid of heights so that has always slowed him down a bit.

We had our head strong days with Cassidy but Abi, the second child, is the most agreeable child....she doesn't like to cuddle except on her own terms but she loves to dress pretty, still plays babies (at almost 10), is artistic. We went to a parenting class once that said look at your child at 3 and that is how they will be as teenagers. So far it's holding true....head strong and vicious days sometimes but mostly a sweet, agreeable kid.

YIKES. I'm in for it when she's a teenager then. Emma speech therapy ended at her 3rd birthday and her speech therapist told us she wants to know Emma at 16. She wants to see how she turns out.
