Okay my fellow Cincinnatians -

actually maybe just Jen and Julie b/c Amy expressed no interest...

How does April 22 at my house for a BBQ sound?

anyone else who wants to join us is more than welcome!!!

PERFECT! And I think I'll take the time to return Amy's name-calling .... LOSER! What's your excuse? :confused3 :)

ETA: Or not. let me get back to you. I couldn't erase this so that the name-calling stays (nice, I know  ) but I'll have to check something. What time are you talking? At this point that's my last RT shift, but I can work the 23rd instead, or any time the next week. Get me details (mostly times) and I'll make a decision quickly.

Looks I may be in for a bad night...my girls share a room...the oldest is at a sleepover. Kirsten has decided she's afraid to sleep alone. Mind you she has slept alone numerous times...she's already working herself up.."can I sleep in your bed" Bill didn't have a happy look on his face....I knew I was in trouble when he put on aftershave a little while ago...think he had other ideas. :teeth: Oh well...what's a mom to do?!
:guilty: Poor Bill. We have had Ephram in our bed for several months now. When we were trying to get him to sleep through the night he ended up in our bed. He would be at the side of the bed crying MAMA with his arms out, I cracked. Good news is he sleeps through the night just in our bed with us. Bad news is DH is getting crankier every day about it. :rolleyes1 Still at least we won't have to worry about any surprises. :rotfl:

You're so obnoxious. You were supposed to get back to me with dates on Sunday...remember, after Steve got home from the park with Julia! :teeth:

I haven't checked with Kevin yet, but that date looks good from my perspective.

Amy :)

So you ARE expressing interest? you all are killing me! On no sleep and too much work, it appears I am easily confused :) Or maybe I should just keep reading....

That's usually the story around here too!! One time on the CB they asked something about how much foreplay you require - and I answered

"quick the kids are asleep!!!!" :teeth:
:lmao: Before the baby it was " you got 20 minutes til House of Mouse is over."

Just to jump back on the 80's topic for a minute..

I always loved Matthew Broderick in Ferris Buellers Day Off. I must have seen that movie at least 100 times. I finally got to see my "crush" in 2001 at The Producers....

My other favs were Pretty In Pink, 16 Candles, & The Breakfast Club..."Da da da dah..da da da dah...da da da dah...when you walk on by".....

THAT'S ANOTHER ONE! I  this group. I've never met anyone else with my Matthew Broderick crush either, and now I have :) He's always my surprising celebrity crush

Oh, Vicki, thank you. And John is the BEST daddy in the entire world. From day 1, through all the heartache, tests of our faith and marriage, the wonderful and the sad, he has been there for it all. He never misses anything they do-concerts, plays, recitals. He comes to all doctor's appointments, cleans the house, does the laundry, irons, helps cook. he is a FULL partner in every word. And he's my best friend. Now, yes, we definitely have our moments, but I am so lucky to be married to a man who loves me and our kids wholeheartedly.

Ok, well for like 3 posts now you have made me tear up. Cut it out already! :rotfl:

But seriously. You have me practically in tears. I so admire your and John's strength and outlook! I think of you almost every time I'm at the hospital this month and see all of those little miracles... and all of the heartache. I can't imagine dealing with those issues, and yet you are there day in and day out and then come here with such grace and thankfulness. I don't know what else to say but that you all are truly an inspiration for families :grouphug:

I know I didn't check with him until today - but since you were irritated that I only commented on one of your posts - I thought I would feign indignance that you failed to answer a post dreictly asking you a question!!!

Ahhh, I think. I'm understanding now! She showed no interest when you first asked. :rolleyes1

Ok, I'm not caught up yet.... but Kyle and I are taking thea to a dog park for a bit. I'll be back to keep on plugging away (and of course there will be several hundred new posts while I'm gone :rotfl: ) but I haven't spent time with them in days, either.

have a good afternoon!

So I let my insane jealousy of my 4 yo get the best of me and I permed my hair!! I was bored and wanted a change and Julia has been telling me more and more she wants her hair straight like mine - I decided it would be better to make mine curly like hers - so Dawn you are getting your wish and can see a curly haired mom for Julia!! :teeth: I also think having curly hair is more believable for me now that I have Julia!!

Here you can see my crocs - AND I would like to point out that NONE of these pictures were taken at the front door!!!

You didn't have to point it out to me, I always notice! :rotfl:

Your hair looks great, though! I really like it curly! :)

ETA: really leaving now. I just saw pictures and had to comment! :)

Maybe. I just read they have Universal dollars, but you can only buy them in the parks. I was looking for someone I could Paypal $$ to that would buy some for me and mail them to me. I would think the dollars would work at both parks. I'm sure I can find out if this is something you're willing to do.

Just let me know. I'd be happy to help!

70 pages?! :earseek: I suppose it could be worse. I'm off to do some reading! :)

Welcome back! How were your shifts?

We missed your posting!

Well, it's been an emotional day for me! A neighbor of mine lost her oldest son this week to a tragic car accident. She is absolutely devastated, since her second son killed himself not 9 months ago. Right after the suicide, her husband had a massive heart attack (fortunately he survived), and then she was diagnosed with several small brain tumors. When I heard the news about her oldest son today, I just started to bawl. How much more is one family expected to handle? I feel so badly for Connie and her family, and wish there was more that I could do. Our congregation held a special prayer meeting for them today, and then we were all told that another member of the congregation is having surgery on Wednesday to have a majority of his colon removed, and a third member is taking her oldest daughter to a rehabilitation center this week so she can get therapy for a drug problem that is related to some sexual abuse she suffered.

I feel like I've been crying for hours. I probably won't be checking in here, much as I've volunteered to help with dinners for these families this week. I feel like next to praying cooking is one thing I can do to help. If you've got any spare pixie dust and prayers to send my way I'd appreciate it for the Romney family, the Folkman family, and the Loser family.

Thanks.

Wow, what an emotional morning for your whole congregation. I will keep all of these families in my prayers. :grouphug:

Glynis,

Helping with the meals is the best thing you can do at this time. Somehow that was the best way to help at any time any of our neighbors had a rough go. Or even if while first coming home with a new baby.
You have a good heart.

Thanks, Jen. When you see those parents struggling, tell them to take it minute by minute, relish every second that they have together, because one day those kids will be all grown up and they'll wonder where it all went.

Glynis,

I am so sorry for your friend's loss. How tragic and sad. And all the other families are in my prayers as well. Go hug your trio, tell God how thankful you are, and snuggle up with them tonight. It'll make you feel better.

Hi, everyone. The kids had a blast at the b'day party yesterday. It was a Batman theme. His mom and Dad had it at home, but they went ALL out with themed games, food, activities, races, goody bags, and treats. All I could think about was Amy and JoJo's cirucus! ;) She'd made Batman cookies, cupcakes, and a cake too. I felt like Martha Stewart had invaded. My little party in June will look quite pitiful in comparison.

Dinner and the symphony was fun. It was good to have a night off. We went to this fancy place that has gotten rave reviews, and of course we thought it was just ok. We've decided to quit trying those fancy restaurants and still to "hole in the wall" places where we can get good food, enough of it, and a beer or glass of wine. Much more our style. I had 2 glasses of wine with dinner and promptly fell asleep during the 2nd piece at the Symphony. :drinking: :faint: The last one was by far my favorite. They played all the music from West Side Story. It was very good. Stopped at this great after dinner dessert place and got cake to go home. I got 2 pieces: carrot cake and gingerbread cake. Delicious! Now I'm so glad we're going back in December so I can get some gingerbread at the GF. :santa: Came home, and I took my 15 minutes to give some attention to John... (I snorted when I read that today). :rotfl:

Been playing with the kids outside today. Just finished a vicious game of horseshoes. They're getting pretty good at it. Off to cook dinner and pack lunches for tomorrow. Back to the real world.

Jo, your house looks great.

Amy, love the pic of you as a kid.

Love everyone's pics of trips to Disney. It's so fun to "see" eveyrone.

Tia, good luck with the new hours tomorrow.

And hi to everyone else. Hope I didn't miss anyone. I had a million pages to read.
