Hey all just wanted to drop in a say hi. I have been very busy and will be very busy for the next month or so. We finally after five months of renting found a house and bought it. Woohooo. I am sooo happy.

I have been so stressed about this as we had to be out of the rental house by May 6. So finally my DH decides on a house and we close on April 20. The house we are getting is one I have been looking at for a couple of years and he just kept saying no.

The house is brand new but just has not sold for whatever reasons. Did I say I am exstatic (sp)?

Besides the house my DS 5 has started acting up at school and we cannot figure out why. This started right after we got back from Disney. He is just in 4K but his teacher thinks it is awful if he tells her he does not want to do something. She said "Her kids never acted like this." I think he is only 5 years old for crying out loud. She thinks he is being sooo disrespectful. Anyway it has been stressful more dealing with her than with my DS5.

I have been following along and Kate I am so glad you do not need surgery for you knee but I DO. Arrrg. I have a torn ligament in my knee and just walking to the mailbox will get it to hurting really bad. I am not going to have the surgery until after we move probably the middle of May.

Anyway if you all don't mind send me some pixie dust that I get through until school is out this year. My DS will be in a diffent school next year, I will finally be able to unpack all of my stuff that has been in storage for over a year now, and my knee pain will be gone.

Sorry so long AND I WANT TO GO TO DISNEY SO BAD!!!

DISNEY TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!

Hooray for the new house!!!!! That is very cool! You'll have to post some pictures so we can see what it's like.

As for your son, it's most likely a phase, right? Every kid goes through a phase like that (or at least that's what I tell myself when I get a call from the school). Perhaps moving to a new school with a new teacher will really help him out!

You can do it! Sometimes I just have to have entire 15 minute days. You know, 15 minutes of housework, then 15 minutes of DIS time, then 15 minutes of schoolwork, then 15 minutes of DIS time, etc. Sometimes that's the only way I can get through a day.

15 minutes is the perfect amount of time!

Thanks, Glynis! That's just the support I needed. :) I think the biggest thing right now is that there is so much "unknown" to the new schedule. Will I have any quality time left with Terra during the week? Will I ever get to see my husband by the time he decompresses every day? Will I be too tired from getting of at (as Flylady says) o'dark thirty every day?

I am determined to have my weekends end up kind of like you explained yours...an hour of everyone working together to clean everything up and then plenty of time for fun. If I look around though it really is MUCH better. My dining area in the kitchen was a 2 foot pile of stuff a month ago. Now the floor is completely cleared except for the strollers stored folded in the corner and we have a dining table to eat at now. Sure I have a hot spot or two, but they are easily cleared. Plus, I found great canvas boxes on clearance at Target a few weeks ago so now Terra's playroom is very quickly picked up and put back in order every night. Plus, she can find the toys she wants and knows where they go when she is done.

I can do this, I know that I can, I just don't do well with change so am a little apprehensive going in.

Thanks again!!! Keep throwing out your family activities when ever the occassion arises. Your ideas are truly inspirations for me! You are the kind of mom I hope that I am being.

Well, it's time to corrall the kids into the car for Church this morning. We are practicing an Easter program for next week, so it should be pretty fun for them.

I'll catch up with you later this afternoon!

Man, I am blushing right now. You are too sweet. I was just thinking that I wished I could be the kind of mom you are to Terra. You are always doing something fun with her. She's going to remember that. All through her life, she'll remember that you were always there to be with her and let her know she's the most important thing in her life. That's what creates happy and positive people and we need more of them in this world.

I love sharing ideas with everyone here, because no matter how many ideas I give, I get so much more from everybody. That's why we're the best group on the DIS!

Maybe. I just read they have Universal dollars, but you can only buy them in the parks. I was looking for someone I could Paypal $$ to that would buy some for me and mail them to me. I would think the dollars would work at both parks. I'm sure I can find out if this is something you're willing to do.

That is so cute, Kate! I love it. Chanon, are you going to use it with just the Goofy pic or did you have a larger design in mind?
I think I'm just gonna buy an Old Navy tee and center it small like it is.

I'll be going this October. Anything you need?
ETA: Nevermind I caught up. If you can't get them in June, just let me know.

Well, I have been reading, but not posting for a little while, as I have been trying to catch up.

Love all the pictures everyone has been posting, it's really neat to see everyone through the years!

:grouphug: and :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to those that need it for stress, sickness and the like.

Tia, I hope your new hours starting tomorrow don't turn out to be too stressful for you, hopefully once you get used to it you will feel a little better. I know how hard it is when you have a little one and work takes up so much of your day. Extra :wizard: and :grouphug: for you.

I'm sorry I didn't take notes to be more specific for everyone else.

You all make me laugh, which I love.

Well, we are off for the afternoon to my BIL's house for a get together with DH's family and an Uncle and Cousin that are in town from Toronto. Luckily I enjoy DH's family, so it should be fun. Plus, we are finally allowed to tell the rest of the family about the fact that we are going to be grandparents. Up 'til now we were sworn to secrecy (although telling everyone on the DIS doesn't count right? ;) )

So have a good afternoon, 'see' everyone when we get back.

I think in the end we both just do the things that fit our family size best. It is so easy for us to get out and do things all of the time because it is just the two of us. I imagine that getting 4 kids to and around an aquarium or museum is 10 times more work for you not to mention all of the additional costs. So, you make the homelife just as exciting. That's the part I want to improve on by next winter when we are stuck inside so much more.

Marti,

so good to hear that Paul does not need surgery. My DH had rotator cuff and bone spur surgery in 1996. The same day a friend of ours had surgery for something else. This was where they let you go the same day once you come out of surgery and have rested a few hours. So there I am helping my DH get into his clothes. My friend kept telling me how she could hear me giggling cause i was having a hard time closing his jeans. All she could hear me saying was "I cant get it up" :lmao: (The zipper in his jeans) (he had a belly that just wanted to get in the way of the zipper :lmao:

I have really enjoyed all the pictures everyone is posting! :goodvibes

Here's a picture of me wearing some Mickey ears on my first trip to MK in 1982 (I was 10):

Can you believe I went to MK in 1982, Epcot in 1983, and MK in 1986 and I never saw a character?!! Must be why I'm so crazy about them now! :teeth:

Amy :)
Cute picture. :goodvibes

We had a nice evening. Dinner turned out pretty good and Alyssa absolutely loved playing with Alex (she's a 4th grader). Debbie said she was looking for a "sign" this week, with where to move (they're currently in an apartment), and then I sent her an email updating her on our situation. :goodvibes She loves our house, the price is right...she just has to decide if she wants Alex in the school district we live (and she works--secretary at the middle school) in. She promised she was going to do some soul-searching and she said she'll let us know soon, since obviously we need to contact a realtor, if she decides not to move to Sharonville.

Like I said last night, I'm trying not to get my hopes up! Please keep us in your thoughts! :wizard:

Thanks!
Amy :)
:wizard: Hopefully, she decides soon. Good luck.

Seems like everyone is in a cleaning mood today. I cleaned out the closet (and can now see the floor!) and took 6 bags of clothes, 2 lamps and a 3x6ft painting to Good Will.

I'd love to post a pic from when I went to Epcot in 87, but I was Mom's third child and had the least amount of photos taken.

UP: Congrats on finishing the laundry! I know what that's like too!
Wow, Great job. :sunny: I cleaned the upstairs yesterday, but wasn't able to part with as much stuff as DH would like. So it's clean but cluttered in all the closets. I know we need to get some stuff out I just keep changing my mind. :confused3

That is by far the BEST movie in EVER! How can you go wrong when the cast includes: C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, and Tom Cruise. Leif Garrett is in it too, but I never had a "thing" for him (and drugs did nothing to help his aging process!).

Jennifer, if you haven't seen this movie, I'm going to make you watch it!!!

Amy :)

I haven't....actually, Kyle and I were just talking about it. When we watched Crash, we felt like we knew Matt Dillon but couldn't place anything he'd been it. When we looked him up, we saw he was in that all-star cast and coudln't believe neither of us had seen it!

I do have one question, though. Just how are you going to make me? Are you going to watch it with me? ;)

But, I have a craft room in the basement of our new house! That means no excuses, because I can leave my stuff out all the time! :thumbsup2

Amy :)

Yay! That's exciting. I'm pretty thrilled that I should have a room too, since we don't have anyone to fill extra bedrooms as of yet! That's my excuse too though, for now.... :)
