Great pictures!!! They look like nice young men..you should be proud!

Good morning, all. I wonder what happened last night (okay, the wee hours of this morning). Right in the middle of a great time posting, we lost the DIS! Maybe my new-found skills were too much for it!!

I promised some photos earlier so dh and I took a stroll down memory lane tonight. It was very nice as my parents took all 3 boys for a sleepover at their house tonight. So here goes my little stroll down memory lane with a disney time line:

This is a photo of Chris and I at the Alter on our Wedding day, July 25, 1992.

This is us walking into the reception
63925Deb_and_Chris_reception_web-med.jpg

Here is a photo of us with some large stuffed Mickey and Minnies. It is strange how the characters have changed so much in just 14 years, but then again so have we.
63925Deb_and_Chris_Honeymoon_web-med.jpg

And here was our deluxe honeymoon suite :rotfl2: Fort Wilderness. We had very little money at the time and neither of us had been to Disney before. It was just fine and started our Disney obsession. Who'd have thought then that we would buy DVC? I guess we're moving up in the world. :thumbsup2
63925Accomodations_web-med.jpg

This was our first Disney Vacation as a family. April 1998. Fort Wilderness Cabins that trip. Nick was 2 1/2 and after getting lost at MCO he was put on a leash for our sanity. Hunter was just 6 months on this trip.

63925Disney_April_1998_web-med.jpg

Here we are in April 2000. We stayed off site at the Holiday Inn Family Suites which is now the Nicholodeon Suites. It was less than $100/night for 9 of us. :thumbsup2 Nick was 4 1/2 and Hunter was 2 1/2. Amazing how our family had grown.
63925Disney_April_2000_web-med.jpg

Here we are in November 2001. We drove down with our Motor Home and stayed at Fort Wilderness. Most people, including us were afraid to fly at that time. This was right after 9/11 so the parks were pretty slow that year. We were there over Thankgiving and got to do the first MVMCP that year. It was great seeing all the christmas decorations and Osburne Lights.
63925Disney_Nov_2001_web.jpg

This photo included our newest family member. This was August 2003. Nick was almost 8, Hunter almost 6 and Colby 9 months. We drove down again, this time with our new travel trailer and stayed at Fort Wilderness. The shirts that all my guys are wearing were ones that I made. I couldn't get enough material to make one for myself, but those shirts got a ton of attention.

Next trip was July 2004. Drove again with our Travel Trailer. Had to get another trip out of those APs. Nick was 8, Hunter was 6 and Colby was 1. Those are one of the T-shirts that I designed prior to meeting you guys :teeth:

63925Old_computer_1837.jpg

And this is last trip October 2005. We stayed at Pop Century and POFQ. Went to our first MNSSHP and had a wonderful time. Nick was 10, Hunter turned 8 the day we flew home and Colby was almost 3. These are our tie dye Mickey shirts.

.

Our next trip will be our first trip home. Wow how times have changed.
Thanks for humoring my trip down memory lane.

Deb

Deb,
Thanks so much for posting those pictures..I got such a nice feeling looking at you & your DH & then as your family has grown.

I can't beleive you made those red shirts..they look great!!!!

My return flight on 10/8 is with Delta. If they go under, I figure I have enough time to deal with the problem. Airtran will have sales coming out soon, so I at least have a backup. I'm more worried about my cruise clients who are traveling back from Miami on Delta on the 15th of April. Luckily it's a Saturday, so they still have one more day to deal with the situation before having to go back to work.
You all have me wanting to post some of my pics to share now! I'll have to find some good ones to post. :thumbsup2

Yeah, Mike is in an apartment dorm this year too. There are 4 small bedrooms in it (One person per bedroom) and 2 bathrooms, with a kitchen and living room. 2 bedrooms on each end of the apartment share a bathroom, the kitchen and living room are in the middle. The kitchen came with Refridgerator, Stove, Dishwasher, Microwave etc. It really is quite nice.

Here are a few pics from move in day last August:

Wow! Did it come with the xbox or had someone unpacked the "important" stuff first?

Too bad I can't eat pizza anymore. I love a good Hawaiian! So what is the half and half?

Whatever you want it to be - we have a margareta (sp) half has just cheese on for me (so they put only half the normal amount of mozz on) then the other side has ham and chicken and extra cheese on for DH.

They only deliver the medium size and we can't eat a whole one alone so we share - but like different toppings :goodvibes

Thanks for the compliment. I wish I had the body now that I did at 21! I was strange to see how much weight Chris and I put on over the years, then the last trip we had lost some :thumbsup2 . I still can't believe that I was ever that thin :confused3 I can wear my wedding dress again although it is much tighter now :rotfl: That was my goal when I started losing weight 3 years ago. I'm not sure why I had that goal as I don't think I'll ever wear it again. We will be in WDW for our 15th anniversary. All my loves together again.

Deb

They do vow renewals at WDW too you know...

Here's a photo of my "fat cat," KC. He weighs 25 pounds!

Wouldn't that be nice! No, the xbox and television belonged to one of the boys who had moved in earlier in the day, but I am sure my DS unpacked his soon after!

If I can learn, you can learn, and I just learned tonight. It just all of a sudden seemed clear. It's really fun. I think my epiphany started with a post a few pages back when someone resized a picture for someone and then told them how to set up their avatar (sorry I don't remember who it was, but thanks).

oohh that was me!! I'm so glad to be part of your new found skill :goodvibes

Here you go, Clare. Basically, Delta has filed for bankruptcy protection. They have some meeting on April 18th, I believe, and depending what happens, the pilots could strike. If they do strike, analysts are saying that would be the end of Delta, and they would immediately stop flying. Here are some articles on what you can do if you hold delta tickets.

Thanks Tammi - I started reading - felt too stressed by the whole thing... went into the kitchen to crack open some treacle sponge pudding... and then the penny dropped...

We're not flying delta we're flying continental! We had looked at delta out of JFK but settled on continental...

DOH!

Panic over anyway...

I'm trying to do an assigment and it's seriously messing with my brain - some :wizard: would be useful if anyone has any spare...

Thanks to everyone for the comment on my pic. John says it is the absolute best picture of me he's ever seen! He said I was so happy cause I was at Disney and had the biggest Diet Coke on the planet. He actually has that picture framed on his desk.

We talked tonight about my "addiction". I told him I wanted to start taking the kids for a few days each Spring Break or summer by myself (he doesn't get that much vacation time), and did he think that was ok. He said it was great 'cause they love Disney as much as me. So, I think I may upgrade our tickets to APs when we go in December. That way I could go back at the end of school for a couple of days and possibly squeeze in another trip in the fall/Christmas.

Cool! :cool1: That would be a lot of fun for you all!

Ok, I have an AP question too (I just want to be like Kristine). If I upgrade our 10day PH tickets in December, do I upgrade the first day I use the ticket, or when I have one ticket left? And then the APs would be good for a year from that date? Would they deduct the cost of the 10day PH, or just the cost of the one day PH that would be left?

If I did it on our last day, Dec 23, then I definitely could fit another Christmas trip in next year on the same APs and save a lot of money, especially if I took the kids for 4 days another trip too.

You can upgrade anytime during your trip. No matter when you upgrade, I think that the AP is dated to the first day of use on your 10 day ticket.

I know you all want to know if Nancy and I look alike - so here is a wedding picture that you can decide - Nancy is on the left - we have one other sister and then a brother - this is a picture of the 4 of us
WednesdayOctober15200339.jpg

But this is the really scary thing - below are pictures of us growing up

This is me and Nancy's daughter

This is me and Nancy's other daughter: (we have a picture of me at 4 that I sent to my other sister and said look at this new photo and she had no clue it was not Nancy's daughter!!!)

7katie2.jpg
16gracie.jpg

When we go out - people always assume her children belong to me and my children belong to her - it is scary!! At one of our regular restaurants they even do this - one day Nancy said to her - you KNOW she is her daughter why do you keep asking me? The girl laughed and just said b/c she LOOKS like you!!

Wow, the resemblence between aunt & neice is neat. It's amazing how things like this happen. I've always wondered where Julia got her curls. Thanks for sharing.

It really smells good in my house (well, mobile home) right now. My son and grandson, and son's friend love my meatballs and sauce, so last night Tanya and I (the granddaughter who's going to WDW with me in August) and I made 95 meatballs, and I put the sauce together. It's been cooking in the crockpot for hours now, and it smells wonderful. Daughter, granddaughters and I will have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tomorrow, and then I will freeze the rest and take it with me on the long-awaited very short trip to Norfolk to visit the rest of my family. Tomorrow it's baking oatmeal raisin cookies (grandson's favorite) and freezing them for the trip, then Wednesday night making pickle dip for son. We're leaving at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. I made a reservation at a motel in Delaware for Thursday night (it has an indoor pool so we can at least relax on the way down). Then we will finish the drive Friday morning and arrive early afternoon. Son doesn't get home from work until 8:30 p.m., but hopefully grandson will be off. If not, then we'll just go to VA Beach and walk the boardwalk for awhile! Then have to drive back on Sunday. I'll probably leave Norfolk around noon on Sunday and get home around 9:00 p.m. Darn work anyway. Retirement is looking better and better.

YUMMY!!!! It all sounds delicious (though can you leave the raisins out of mine please :) ). I am so glad to hear that you finally get to make it down to see everyone!

Can someone look at this AP upgrade question for me please?
Right I think a premium annual pass inc parking and water parks is $574

We currently each have a 7 day myw pass hopper - water parks x5 - no expiry which I think I've calculated correctly to be worth $359

So the upgrade cost = $215?

Now we will have to pay to pay to park on 7 days this year (staying off site) so that's another $70 give or take.

If we upgraded on day one we'd have free parking so would save that $70 meaning that if we took another trip within 12 months we could go for 14 days to the parks including free parking for $145 (which is about £85).

A 14 day pass for us is about £175 and 14 days parking would be £140 - total of £315.

So we could have another trip with 14 days of Disney for £85 - instead of £315??

Is that really right?? I may be able to convince DH we should go back in 07...

Plus we'd get discounts off stuff too would we? Like miniature golf...and DTD shopping?? That could even pay for itself!!!!

Could someone please please check my maths for me?
