yup, law was enacted about 3 years ago because people were stealing more cars because "hey, they even started the car for me"

Brilliant. So they enact a law to keep law-abiding citizens from warming up their cars. How about putting the criminals in jail and leaving them there. Sorry...off my soapbox now.

Hi everyone!! I've been MIA for a while, but I promise to try to keep up from now on. First off, I have to apologize to my ornament people; I will get them mailed! Secondly, I have to thank Glynis for my awesome ornament & accompanying goodies! I love it!! Theresa, Kaelyn loved her box too. She thought the ornaments were really cool and loves the slinky. Lastly, Leighanna (& Tom) went way above and beyond with Stephanie's box. She loved the ornament and goodies but especially loved the pillow with her name on it. Tom, it is absolutely gorgeous and she hasn't put it down since she opened it. Excuse her hat hair

Say I want to have a small get together (about 20 people) and since its winter it needs to be inside. I don't want to serve anything to busy or heavy. Would just Hors D'Oeuvres be enough?

If so what would you serve? have any recipes?

I've done a few, but only factory type installs. Not sure about the price, but they take between 2-3 hr.s to install

Ok, what does this mean? I know you work on Toyotas. So does someone bring their car to you, you order from Toyota and then install it? Do I just need to find a garage that does this? He has a Solara if that helps at all.

I just got home and had a rough night. I had to go to Kohls and get a grandpa & me frame. I put the very first picture of him holding me and that will go in the casket.

We also finished his photo collage which was emotional. Ill be glad when tomorrow night and wedensday are over!

Kelli - good to see you! That pillow is adorable.

Thanks to you all for the advice and opinions. I'm still just as confused as ever. I think I need to talk to him more about times that he would want them Christmas Eve/Day. I would be willing to let him have them Christmas Eve for dinner and Mass, as long as they are home by 9. Then I'd be willing to give them to him Christmas Day at 1 if I can have them home around 5:30. Then we could have our Christmas dinner around 6. That sounds like we would all get something that we want. I know what you all are saying about them getting older and it being more about family time together instead of just gifts. That is what got me thinking about this whole agreement thing to begin with. Thanks again.

ETA: And yes, I do have to be locked into some type of arrangement. It can't be left up to chance. However, we can deviate from whatever arrangement we choose, like if one of us wants to go out of town or something, with agreement from the other party. This sucks. Ok, I'm done talking about it.

We put love notes and pictures in my dad's pockets when we buried him. He was buried in his blue jeans, plaid long sleeved button up shirt with the cuffs rolled up once, and his leather slippers that he ALWAYS wore at home. That was the way he looked 95% of the time (except for the slippers which he only wore at home). It was funny because all 3 of us kids at different points said "I am not allowing Dad to be buried in a suit". Mom didn't know this but when it came time for the decision she brought up the same thing. It was amazing how in tune we all were when it came to the decisions.

Per Chris

The Solara has an immobilizer key which is a computer chip inside his key and the key must be in the ignition to start the car. Therefore an aftermarket remote starter will not work. Toyota has a remote starter system that will work, but it needs to be hard wired into the car. Your looking at a labor cost of 3 hours plus the cost of the part. Chris says that he can find out the cost tomorrow if you'd like, but it sounds like a very expensive gift.
