And here's breakfast for Saturday! :stir:

Aahhh now that's mean - biscuits... yum... we went into Mcdonalds at DTD on our last morning last trip and I had a bacon and cheese biscuit.... I was in heaven... I plan to eat there as often as possible next trip - we can save IHOP pancakes for dinner!

I think I'm as far away from a biscuit (in hours) as Marti is from a chick a lick...

BTW Marti - your curly wurleys and HP are in a package - I just need to stick a piece of paper on the front with your address on... sorry it's taking me sooooooo long...

Oh, I thought that was a refillable container. When I ran out, I'd mail it back to you and you'd fill it up again :confused3 ;)

:thumbsup2 Amy's cookies are THE BEST!!!!!!!

They were all rolled to exactly the same thickness, perfectly cut, perfectly browned and tasted yummy! Everyone at the party thought I had bought them at a bakery because they were so perfect.

Kate, I pirated 3 of my "own" cookies and hid them in my car so I could have them for breakfast one morning when I had to go shopping :)

I have her recipe and I plan to try it, but after having hers I have a lot to live up to!

Thanks again Amy :goodvibes

Ok, I think I'm going to break down and ask Amy to pretty please PM me the recipe as well. Everyone who has tried them is raving. May I please have the recipe, Amy? Please, please, please????

Oh Jen...!!!??? Where are you??? it's quarter to seven in the evening here and my future sight isn't working as I can't see where Kyle matched... have you found out yet???

Keeping my fingers crossed for you :wizard:

Update on Grandpa-He had his surgery today. Well, sort of. They checked him out and decided that closing him back up right away would be the best decision. He's being admitted into hospice today. I'll be finding flights from San Diego for my aunt and uncle, I think they've decided on coming in this Saturday. I haven't been to the hospital yet (still debating on seeing him like this or remembering him sitting in his Lazy Boy chair eating his chocolate without nuts). From the family that is there now, he's ready to see his late wife and comfortable with the decisions that had to be made. Thanks for the prayers everyone! (It's odd knowing that this thread, only finding it a month ago, makes me feel better  The kindness of strangers is awesome!)

Sending you lots of
:grouphug: right now. This is a hard time. We are here for you if you need to vent or scream or cry!

Here's a big :grouphug: for you. I hope he stays comfortable and at peace. Sending prayers and PD.

Well, in my defense, I was posting past my bedtime last night, but I really should have recognized the Carnac the Magnificent reference. Though I never watched a single episode of Carson, Letterman does this skit every once in a while with Paul Shafer as Carnac. Did you know Johnny was sending Dave jokes until his death last year? He really thought Dave should have been his successor.

I was born on January 24, 1972, so yes, Kate, I'm older than you. :teeth: And stop correlating ewwww turtles with the chocolate turtles I made for my DAD!

Denise, great pounce today! (Paul would be so proud... :wizard: for that MRI too, Skunka). Those Chick-fil-a pictures are mouth-watering, but Alyssa and I had a slice of pizza at a local place for lunch today. I hope the Triplefigs are feeling better soon! :goodvibes

Thanks for the cookie compliments Dawn! And remember, when Marti calls you the name that rhymes with witch, it's a compliment! :rotfl:

More :wizard: and :grouphug: for Yellowfish, Tinknme, and Tink2020 today (and anyone else who needs it, of course).

Tammi, I think it would be a blessing to just get the chicken pox over with...long before a WDW trip! ;)

Clare, remember to not make the cookies quite so thick next time and to frost them! :teeth:

Marti, after only one day, I would refer to the Cinderella magnet set as "loved." Lucifer's tail is cracked and a couple shoes are missing. I guess that's why the package says ages 3 and up. Maybe we should have saved this for when she's a little older, but we couldn't help but open it when Alyssa was squealing, "Rella! Rella!" Thanks again (and get back to studying!!!) :sunny:

Please don’t take the wrong.

I believe when someone has lived a full life and are ready to go, sometimes they only stay because the people hear with them want them to stay and the person doesn’t want to let their family down by leaving. (Does that make any since what so ever?)

Story time…DH grandmother was in and out of the hospital for a few years, she hurt all the time. DH mother always said to her, don’t leave me mom… I am here to help and care for you, I need you, I don’t want you to go. Things like that all the time. So Grandma was in the hospital again for anther surgery and she didn’t come out well, she went into a coma state. So we went to she her and again DMIL kept asking her mother not to leave. Grandma looked like crap, she Dr said if she made it out life would basically suck more than ever. I was so mad at my MIL I could have just hit her. I told DH he had to tell his grandmother it was ok to leave. The minute he told her, she left. DH told his mother what he did and she didn’t talk to him the rest of the day. To this day we don’t bring up grandma much because DH doesn’t want his mother to get mad at him again.

I do wish the best for grandpa, you and your family
i believe that too. my grandfather had lived an awsome life. went to the hospital for uti(i think) and died. he was like life was great bye. i know thats morbid but i think we all know when we are ready to leave.

tinknme-
sometimes kids feel liek they cant talk to grown ups. does your son have a sister or brother that he could maybe talk to. since he is moving schools he could be worried about the move and maybe worried if his friends are going to ve there too. i would maybe try and sit down with him and just ask him if he is worried about going to a new school. of course make the conversation a relaxed one so he doesnt feel like he is in trouble. one other thing i just thought of. maybe see if something or someone at school is bugging him. hope suggestions help.

Amy :)

actually - taking them off the sheet caused the most damage at our house and I did it - so maybe it is 34 & up!! :teeth:

My fridge is covered with Belle now!!

Drum roll please...here's the cut-out cookie recipe! :teeth:

1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, water, and vanilla and blend well. Sift together the baking powder, salt, and one cup flour. Combine the sifted mixture with the first ingredients and beat well. Add final two cups of flour, a little at a time, until well-mixed.

Refrigerate overnight or for at least four hours. I flatten the dough in a gallon sized ziplock bag, so it's easier to break off pieces and roll out.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Carefully transfer to ungreased cookie sheets and bake 6-9 minutes (see tip below). Remove baking sheet from oven and allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring them to paper towels.

When cool, frost and decorate. Depending on the size of your cookie cutters, each batch of dough should yield 3-4 dozen cookies.

Tips my mom and I have learned over the years:
1) Roll out dough in small amounts. Keep rest of dough chilled until you need it.
2) Use as little flour as possible when rolling out your cookies, since too much flour will make the cookies tough and dry. But, find a happy medium and be patient, because this dough can be very sticky!
3) The thickness of the cookies will determine how long they need to bake. Watch them carefully and bake until set, but not brown.
4) These cookies freeze well. After frosting has set, layer carefully between sheets of wax paper in an airtight container.
5) Powdered dry fondant, purchased at a candy supply store, makes a very nice glaze for this cookie. We also use colored sugar crystals...sprinkling the sugar on the fondant before it sets.
6) Be patient, patient, patient! These cookies can be very time-consuming, but the end product is delicious!

I think that's everything, but please don't hesitate to ask questions!

Holy cow - what a difference less than a week makes!

does anyone here happen to have Filemaker Pro 6 on their computer - if so I have a question for you

Does anyone know if Michael's sells "good" dark t-shirt transfers? I have a 40% coupon.

Thanks!
Amy :)
