My back is feeling much better today. It still hurt with different movements, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. The only way that I can think of to describe it is to equate it to a major charlie horse that wouldn't release. I remember waking up in the night with Charlie Horses, but being able to massage them out. The one in my back just wouldn't release, it was like all the muscles locked up at once. I think that it has release now and I just have the residual soreness. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Oh No

I sure hope he is back out for us too. If not I am sure we can think of another place to have a great picture taken.

If not, I would suggest the Mickey and Walt Statue. Isn't that called the "Friends" statue. What better place to take a picture of a group of friends ;)

Tom laundry and mowing can wait, you need to rest.

Thanks for posting your favorite apples. Right now I buy Fuji, but I am always on the lookout for a good ºjuicyº apple.

:wizard: that the Goofy statue is back for picture taking. If not I second Deb, use the Walt/Mickey statue.

Chris says hello

I don't feel up to putting the jacket on, the meds have worn off and the advil hasn't kicked in yet. Anyway...I purchased a red velour zip front lightweight jacket. I bought black fabric and cut it in the shape of a Mickey Head. I surged around the Mickey head then sewed it onto the back of the jacket and added a red with white polka dot bow. I made 2 smaller ones that I added to the front pockets then added more ribbon around the bottom. I think it looks cute though it reminds me of some of the things Tom has made so maybe it would look better on a little girl :rotfl: I've always said that I don't want to grow up so I guess it's ok.

It sounds darling!

Hope your back feels better this morning!

Off to bowling!!! I'll check back in with you later. Wish me luck that I'll beat the storm. We're due for some cold rain with more snow for this weekend. I'll have to take some pictures if it actually happens!

Deb - Glad your back is feeling better!

Tom - Good luck with the laundry! It took us about 3 weeks just to unpack.

Penny - Your siggie is looking good! I am always amazed when I try to mess with mine and it works!:rotfl2:

Elin - Good luck with your packing!:wizard:

My tooth feels pretty good this morning. DS's teeth are sore. They have him back on the rubber bands for each side, and these bands are smaller and thicker. He has to work much harder to open his mouth with those in place. DH was asking me where the Advil was at 3 AM. The only Advil I KNOW where it is are the 800 mg. ones which DS can't have. I will have to pick up some 200 mg. ones today. Then DH was mad that I didn't spring out of bed and scour the house in search of Advil. I told him to give DS some Tylenol instead.

DS went off to school with NO bands on his braces so he shouldn't be in pain today. I told him he must not want to get them off if he can't be bothered to follow the instructions. I did finally log in to see his grades last night. It's a pretty neat system! He has all A's except for math, which is a C. I really don't think honors math is a good thing, but I think as long as he is passing that's where they will leave him.

Princess wants to go see Arabella today, so I guess we'll stop in on the way to Sam's. Fridays we don't really HAVE to go anywhere or do anything, so right now we are just hanging out and she is playing with her toys.:)

I'm glad that his grades aren't as bad as you thought they might be. All A's with one C is not bad at all, in fact that is really good. You already knew that he was struggling with the math.

Deb,

I was thinking the same thing but could not remember where it was or what it was called.

Glad to hear your back is getting better.

So I spent the morning wondering if I could add a day to the October trip. Pop has availablity, the car rental would be less than $20 more, but the airfare would be an extra $100 each :scared1: Then Chris would need another day off and we would want MNSSHP tickets. By the end the trip would cost us at least double what it is now. I guess I will just have to be happy with 2 days. Of course SW could give us a DING, but that is highly unlikely. Bummer

Here is an article on the funeral yesterday:

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_5715194,00.html

there is a slide show on the right hand side of the funeral...moving pictures.

Theresa, very moving article and the pictures were hard to look at without crying.

that got me to thinking about when my youngest son accompanied a good friend's body back home for his funeral in Chicago. I always wondered how it must have been because he never talks about it.

Theresa - How sad. And even sadder that the same type of scenario is played out over and over again, all around the country.:sad2: I don't know how his mom will get through this. I don't think I would be able to.:sad1:

Hi! I've been so busy that I haven't had time to check in and have no idea what's been going on. I have my niece this weekend and am getting ready to go to Charleston, SC with my friends next Wed. Anyone care to recap? :goodvibes

I did get to see Tammi last night at the school and today at the bus stop. :thumbsup2 Have a safe trip, Tammi! :wizard:

That's what I keep thinking too...my mom keeps talking about the girls joining the Air Force's band when they are old enough. I told her no way, no how because they can't give me a guarantee that is the only thing they will ever have to do.

If the girls decide to join the military that is fine and I will stand behind their decision 100% but I'm not going to keep reminding them there is the AF band (or the other branches either). I am a military brat who worked for the PR office my junior year in HS...the military can be a good life and it can be a nasty life but the war is the scary part of the equation that I don't like.

I feel for all the mom's out there who have sons and daughters serving...they all have my prayers and greatfulness daily.

OK. Let's ponder something a little less heavy!

I got a PM from somebody on another board. I mostly lurk there, and I don't know one poster from another. So they PM and ask me a question, but they want me to reply NOT through the board's PM system, but by e-mail. I pulled up my profile and it is pretty much blank - it doesn't say my city and state which would be pertinent to the question they asked. I did reply through the board's system because I don't particularly want to hand out my e-mail address to strangers. Is that odd? I don't want to be rude, but I don't want a bunch of spam or viruses or whatever other ugliness could come through e-mail.:scared:

Oh, and my username there is different than it is here, so it isn't somebody who already knows me from the DIS.

I KNEW I had seen the William Tell Overture mom before....she was a speaker at at least one conference I've been to...not only hilarious but an absolutely amazing speaker!!:goodvibes
