My day wasn't bad. I got sunburned on my shoulders, but other than that it was a good day! That spray sunscreen is great when you actually get it on your skin. But the spots you miss are ouchie!!

You had SUN?!?!?

Still dealing with nausea but not as bad and have not throw up in 2 weeks. Still having headaches and migraines, thus another reason not on the computer much lately.

Next weekend we are heading to the coast. Will leave Fri afternoon around 330 and come back sometime on Mon. then the 21st we have our sonogram.

My nasal swab for the whooping cough was negative as has all the other employees that have been tested.

I have been on the computer to long and am starting to get a headache so I will say bye for now.
:wizard: Hope you are over morning sickness & headaches soon! :cool1: for the negative whooping cough! Can't wait to hear Mickey or Minnie on the 21st!

Thanks, that makes sense!!! And by the way, I absolutely  the designs on this board!! This is the most creative bunch of people I've ever seen!! So, I guess that makes me a DDA!!

:welcome: I enjoyed your pretrip report. Your Minnie dress is adorable!

I can't remember when I bought our December airfare last year. I guess I could book at Pop on a AAA room only and just watch AP rates and airfare. Hmm.:scratchin

I think that sounds like a perfect idea! :thumbsup2

So, in more of a description of what Kathrin's company does... they market colleges and universities to incoming students. Remember when you used to get letters from the Dean saying they hoped you would consider their school for your education? Well, now a lot of that kind of marketing is done online and aimed from Kathrin's company instead of the admissions departments. She writes all the letters and copy for the applications and advertising used to market schools. Her company also developed the patent-pending online Fast Application many colleges and universities now use. Some of their clients are Columbia, Tulane, Hampden-Sydney College, Universitry of Minnesota, Duke, Fordham, U of Chicago, U of Vermont. Is that easier to understand now? I told you they were a very unique marketing company!

Ah, makes perfect sense now! Cool job!

Thanks for the update Tom! Adian has been through so much, I hope he gets to go home soon

I agree - he has been one little trooper! :wizard:

I have been busy around the house today!

DW's B-day is Friday and I had asked what she wanted for her birthday.

She said that she wanted the new curtains hung in the bedroom, and the house cleaned. So I got the new curtains up, washed the windows inside and out, and dusted and cleaned everything (in the bedroom). At least that room now looks presentable!;) Now, I need that little cleaning fairy to come in and do the rest:rolleyes1

Happy birthday to your DW! I hope you got the cleaning done! What a nice gift (and husband). :goodvibes

I got a new tag!!

and I think I type too much.....dang they both are long!!:lmao:

Congrats on the new tag!

Regarding moving, I'm keeping my options open and just looking at what's on the market, in case I can't afford to buy him out. The thing is, there are 3 different elem. schools within probably 2 miles from my house (as the crow flies), so it all depends on which side of what road you live on.

My dates are Dec. 9 -14. I opted for that week since it's further away from Thanksgiving, and we aren't travelling on the 2nd, which is Nicholas' bday. That way his dad 'shouldn't' give me any grief.

I'm sorry we'll miss each other. Maybe someday we'll get to meet! :goodvibes

I had a teacher in high school who spent 6 weeks the one summer off Africa spending most of his time in a shark cage studying the Great white sharks. He spent the time above water on a ship as the area was out in the middle of no where. This is the teacher who I did my marine biology study trip to Jamaica with.

I did happen to see a shark at Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay on my last DCL cruise.:thumbsup2 I also happend to be swimming in the ocean off Delaware and an entire pod of dolphins swam by me about 7 feet away. I could hear people on the beach screaming get out of the water sharks.

I want to go diving on my cruise in September but I am concerned about my sinus issues. I haven't went SCUBA diving in 2 years so I would need to do at least a dive or 2 before I went. Then again there is so much stuff I want to do on land I'm not sure if I will do much underwater either. I am thinking I may just need to be satisfied with snorkeling on Castaway Cay as I want to explore the islands. Decisions, decisions.:cool2:

Wow - the dolphins sounded really cool!

Jonathan has done the DiveQuest tour at Epcot a few times (and there are sharks in there), plus he usually sees a couple on his dives in Hawaii. Of course, that's not good enough, though. He wants to be surrounded by them.

Im so glad theres so many around chatting tonight !
We got some bad news about an "aunt" of mine today.
Shes my grandmother's cousin and is one of the ladies helping me on my job search. We just found out she has cancer and the doctor gave her 2 weeks..so please keep aunt lois in your prayers or good thoughts if you can

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, as well as everyone else who have friends with recent diagnoses. :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug:

TERRY & HAL

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

38 years and still countin!!!!

I'm an offical scraplifter now!!!

I'll lift with ya! :rotfl2:

Happy Anniversary, Terry and Hal!!!

My nails grow long and are very strong, but I just don't have time to fuss with them. Occasional polish is all that I managed. Can you believe that I have NEVER had a manicure or pedicure ? That's going to change. I scheduled an appointment with my cousin (my hairdresser) for the day before our trip. She's going to do a manicure, pedicure, haircuts and whatever other pampering I can think of. Hopefully it will be a nice day and she can work on my by my parents pool while the kids swim. :cool1:

:scared1: ;)

You will love it, I'm sure! My one vice is pedicures - I do a terrible job myself, and since I wear open-toed shoes pretty much year-round, I get them done every few weeks. I used to have fake nails, too, but gave those up a few years ago - mainly because I'd had them on for about 10 years consecutively, and I figured my real nails needed a break! I don't miss all the time it takes to get them done, although I do miss how polished they make your hands look. I can't get a manicure to last for more than a day or two before it's a mess again.

I have been thinking that I would pay off our trip with the gift card I have been loading, then when I get my comp time check and my first few paychecks from my new job I will load the card back up with spending money. I had a few minutes this morning so...

Our trip is paid in full now!!:dance3:

Woo hoo! That is so exciting!!! :woohoo:

Here a couple of quick pictures of the tie dye shirts

Great job as always, Deb!

Sending prayers to her as well! We got news yesterday that a family friend who battled breast cancer last year and grew closer to my mom now has cancer in her liver and other places and may only live two more weeks. Her daughter was one grade ahead of me in school and has been my hairdresser for over 20 years, and her husband does Randy and my DS's hair. My heart breaks for that family. The Mom's name is Jan Booker.

Well, the mosquitoes that I complained about yesterday have left multiple bites on me, even with bug spray. In fact, I have three in the shape of a hidden Mickey on my leg!

Jake has his last game tonight, so I'm going to wear jeans and a 3/4 sleeve shirt (even though our HI today is going to be 103!) and spray from head to toe and take the citronella candles.

Have a great day, DDA!

I'm sorry to hear about Jan. I will keep her in my prayers. Have fun at Jake's last game, although I'm sure you'll be hot! (But hopefully, not a human smorgasbord for the mosquitos!)

Hi all,

Had my OB appointment this AM Baby was very active and took the nurse quite awhile to find the heartbeat.

Good news all around, Jennifer, save for the headaches. Take care of yourself, and enjoy your time on the coast!

You had SUN?!?!?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Don't worry - the rain will return tomorrow! There are counties within the vicinity right now that are also under a tornado watch until midnight.

Well, it has been a crazy week, and one that I just wish would be over. Lots going on with work, and a bunch of late nights and early mornings. Ugh - I feel like a zombie!

The good news - thanks to all our lovely weather ;) - an event that I was being forced to plan (but thought was a terrible idea) got canceled for this Saturday. We were supposed to go out to a partner's lake house on the border of Texas/Oklahoma, but with all the rain, the lake is above flood levels, has a bunch of debris in it, etc. Or so says this partner's neighbor at the lake - I need to find the man's contact info. so I can send him some $$! :lmao: The partner is just kind of a jerk (and also a bit of a lech), and it just had disaster written all over it - and no one wanted to go to top it all off. Now, we're just going to have a pool party at my boss' house, assuming the weather holds. :rotfl: As she and her husband make a vicious margarita, I doubt anyone will notice if it's pouring outside. ;) :lmao:

Thanks also to all of you for the reassuring words re: CRT - I was up at the crack of dawn this a.m., and got our ressie at the exact time I wanted with no problem. :woohoo: I've also decided that maybe traveling with a large group is almost worth it for the ability to book through Group Dining - no menus and buttons to punch, you're just straight through to an agent! I could get used to that. :goodvibes

I may head to bed here shortly, and try to catch up on my beauty sleep. You know you're looking a little rough when everyone tells you, "you look really tired today." Ugh.

Well, i called my doctor t oday and she prescribed me a new pill so i just took that plus the cough meds and codeine so i think im headed to bed..hope you all have a great night and "see" you tomorrow!

Hi Jennifer, have a good time this weekend!

Glad to hear the test for whooping cough came back negative.

Hi Deann & welcome!

Thanks, that makes sense!!! And by the way, I absolutely  the designs on this board!! This is the most creative bunch of people I've ever seen!! So, I guess that makes me a DDA!!

:woohoo: on getting CRT!

It sounds like some of you could use a little :wizard: :wizard: to get through the sickies.

I had a very productive evening at work tonight. I did our monthly budget, paid our bills, sewed a torn shirt and got all of my actual work responsibilities done :goodvibes I'm glad that I had the forsight to bring stuff to do as I had time. We really weren't all that slow either, it just worked out well. I decided to let my mother's shirt sit overnight as I don't feel like dealing with it now. Tomorrow I will iron a couple of designs onto the blue tie dye shirts. I think that will take care of the t-shirts other than whatever my mother decides she wants to match. Now on to the autograph books. I also have some design requests to get caught up on.

So what are you all up to tomorrow?

I spent the afternoon with Toni & tried a few dresses on. The one I posted last night is a no go. It is a beautiful gown & I loved it, but it is a little to revealing for a wedding(well I think so anyway). Toni picked out a couple more for me to try & she really liked one that is cranberry in color. It laces up the back like hers & I would only need to have it hemmed a little. I went ahead & ordered the dress from JC Pennys & then Toni can make her final decision on which one she wants me to wear. Here are some pictures. Please excuse my hair, it was very windy today so I just put it up & please excuse the gown with my bra straps showing  I had taken it off & put it back on so many times that I did not feel like messing with it anymore. Hope it does not offend anyone.

This is the Pink & Ivory gown

Gold/tan gown, I really liked the way this fit, but it would need to be hemmed & altered at the top

After the gowns we went & reserved a place for her reception, then we went & bought flowers so I could make the bouquets.

Garrett had a game tonight & now I am relaxing lol

Deb- You are amazing!!

Tomorrow is work and than we are going to go stock up for our open house on Saturday.

I will take pictures Saturday before the party.....almost all decorated.

We will either have 4 people or 40+ people in our house Saturday. Instead of housewarming gifts we have asked people to bring baby items for a local hospitals maternity ward ministry. I hope we get a lot of items!!

I am also paying our trip off (finally!!)

Sounds like your moving right along Deb & getting ready for your trip!

I work tomorrow :( Garrett has practice & Riley has a game. So my day & evening are shot lol
