Thank you Terry, your information is very helpful! I will call our phone company & put a block on any other phone carriers. I would have never thought of that. Thanks again!

Janet,

Sometimes when you dial 800 number but stay on past the time frame it turns into a 900 call. MCI is just the carrier that charges for the calls.
This is your choice but you might want to ask if you can put a block on your long distance so no company could make the change without you making the choice.
I used to work for Verizon way back with it was Bell of Pennsylvania then Bell Atlantic,,and finally Verizon. We would get these kind of calls all the time. Especially the unauthorized long distance carrier change kind.
Even though you told him no just call your carrier and make sure blocks are on. Some people have even gone as far as putting Passcodes on their accounts.

Wow you are getting an early start!

Hope you have a great day, I know you must be very excited having your daughter home for the summer!

A bright and early good morning, DDA! :sunny:

:wizard: that the rain stays away. Congratulations to Jake on his home run :cheer2:

Garrett had a game last night & they won 9-0. They won against the team that creamed them last week, so they all felt pretty good. Riley has a game tonight & then they both have a game tomorrow night. I love baseball season!

We may have MORE RAIN today, but it's only 20% so I hope it stays away! Ditto for tomorrow, as there is a chance for more rain then as well. Jake got his baseball game in last night and hit a home run. He also did well playing first base. Both boys are supposed to have games tonight, then tomorrow is our marathon sports day with two soccer games (and possibly a third) and four baseball games.

Have a great day everyone!

A very late good morning to all you early risers :)

Congrats to Garrett and his team, and good luck to both boys!

I also noticed you're ticker -- congrats on getting closer to your goal!

Robyn is your pediatrician affiliated with a larger hospital? I know that all of our doctors work with local hospitals so there are teams available to cover situations such as this. Is she still having symptoms? If she is then you and Molly should not wait for the regular ped to come back. Now that you know that the tests found nothing abnormal I would take her to a walk in clinic or ER if you have no other option. Explain the situation, the tests and results and make it clear that you need to get her on meds NOW. ERs have access to all the specialists so someone there would have to help you. It is not fair to make a child suffer because the doctor is away

Glad to hear Molly's biospy is normal, but sorry you had to go through so much to find out!

Robyn, that does sound extremely frustrating, I really hope you find a way to get some answers soon.

 I hope that SOMEONE can give you answers, or at least guidance, soon. No one, by especially a young child, should have to wait around so long for relief. Can they at least put her back on her meds now or does that have to wait too?

Robyn- Hope you can get a solution to Molly's problems soon. As for the test result issue, for future reference when they ask if you want results to go to anyone else you can normally say yourself and they will make sure you get results.

Thanks again for all the 's. Just knowing I can vent here is a godsend.

I did get a call back from our ped and she wants me to start Molly back on the reflux meds. She said that even though the probe and biopsy show no damage does not mean that she does not have reflux. So at least for now I have a plan of action.

For anyone that wants to use the teacher appreciation idea that I posted yesterday I have a few tips. I went out today to get all of the supplies and was amazed that I could not find carefree gum, 100 Grand bars or dumdum lolipops :confused3 There were plenty of other things to fill the container so no big deal, but thought I'd save you the frustration of searching too many stores. Maybe you areas will be different.

Another one is Orbitz. You're out of this world.

I had the boys put the gifts together when they got home and they LOVED the idea. They called me a smart Mommy :rolleyes1 I didn't mention that I borrowed 1/2 the ideas from a thread here. It's not often that they think I'm smart.
I'm off to work shortly. Have a nice evening.

 and :wizard: to those who could use some. I am still reading although it is speed reading.

I think you're pretty smart!!

We spent our second night last night. It's going to take a little getting used to....my migraine is gone, FINALLY!!

The school lockdown isn't affecting our kids that I know of but we've had enough lock downs of our own lately...I will be happy when school is out for the summer.

Glad to hear your migraine is better and that the lockdown did not affect the girls.

Last night, i watched the cutest movie "catch and release" Today, im watching "because i said so"...i would recommend both of these if you havent seen them!

Thanks for the reminder I'ved wanted to see that Jennifer Garner move and Eric and I have a kid free night tonight so this will be perfect.

I'll chance it and go to confession when I return!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Now I'm sorry I won't be making this trip.

This is just not my year! I got our phone bill & noticed it was higher than usual. We are on a package, so the cost is usually the same every month. I get to looking & there are 1-900 numbers on there  I call our phone company & they give me another number to call to dispute it. I am so angry, these are calls made to a hotline I know none of us made these, one was during the afternoon while the boys were at school & Gary & I were at work! I was told that within 6 days they would let me know if the charges will be taken off. I told them that if they did not take away the charges that I will be going to the BBB & getting something done about this!

Ok vent over.

What a mess, hope you get it all situated.

My BIL just called me from EPCOT. He is about to see Illuminations..he & his family are on the bridge between England & France & wanted to know if thats a good spot! Ummmmm yah!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 I am sooooo jealous!!!! They had dinner at Norway..its their first time & from the sound of their voices it won't be their last!:)

Sounds like a nice way to spend the evening.

Tomorrow morning Bob and I are headed to Richmond to pick up Kristin and all her "stuff" and bringing it all back home for the summer! She has had a week to pack so I am hoping that all we have to do is load the car!

Hopefully you won't have to much work once you get there. Enjoy having Kristin home.

Hope everyone had a good day. I had the day off from work. I spent a bunch of time prepping stuff for our Girl Scout uncovering the evidence interest project workshop for the bridging juniors. It isn't until the 23rd but if I don't do it now it won't happen. I also went to Sam's club, did some cleaning and then watched Grey's Anatomy.

For those of you leaving on trips have a great time. Jen enjoy your graduation I hope it doesn't rain.

Glad to see you around.

Jen.. Happy Graduation!:cheer2:

Tia... enjoy your trip!!!:dance3:

For Mother's Day my DD is taking me to a scrap meet tomorrow evening. I have to pack up my tote. I'm going to scrap the pictures from the family trip. Maybe that will make me focus on the good memories instead of the ticket problems....

Nite all....

Sounds like a great Mother's Day present.

How aggravating!:headache: I didn't even know they still "made" 900 and 976 numbers. I hope they get it taken care of for you!

Tia, have a wonderful time! And happy birthday!!:)

I hope the move goes well!:wizard:

Grey's was good tonight! Happy Graduation!!

We have had so much rain that they postponed Field Day until next Friday. I really hope it stops raining before then!

When I got back from picking up the kids at school the entire back door was covered in mosquitoes. They have one of those misting systems, but there aren't any nozzles by the back door or carport. It was so bad I made the kids walk around to the front door. I pointed that out to Dadboss when he came home, so hopefully he will have the pest control guys do something!

I left a message for the foster mom today but I didn't hear back from her. The lady who is in charge of the other rescue called me. Turns out she was VERY nice and totally reasonable - not scary like the online application made them sound! She said she has heard that the clinic run by the rescue we are trying to adopt from has recently had a severe run of feline distemper. Well, score another point for me and my psychic abilities. I know that is what killed those 2 male kittens. This lady was just wonderful. I told her we have Aurora, I told her the lease says 1 pet, I told her all the drama with the current kitten, and she was really lovely about all of it. If we back out of this adoption we will definitely go through her for our kitten. DH is back on the fence, but mainly because of DS and because we thought the rules would be too strict for us to get a kitty from the place the vet recommended. But if they are willing to adopt to us then we should probably go ahead and switch to them, since the vet already told us NOT to get a kitten who has been exposed to FP.

Still nothing on the job front. I'm kind of bummed about that.

Here's some :wizard: that you get some news on the job front. Hopefully you'll have a kitty to love and spoil soon!

Well, today ill be in and out...Im leaving here ina bout 20 min and were headed down to rowan early--they are shutting down the main road at 9am and we want to be there before that! AFter the ceremonies, were going to olive garden for lunch (yummm) ..Then ill be home for a bit to rest...Tonight, im going out for appetizers and drinks with my family and firemen, i cant wait!!

Have a great day everyone--TGIF!

Have a great day! Way to go, Jen. We are all so proud of you.

Good Morning. :surfweb:

Morning Heidi and the rest of the DDA!!

Have a wonderful trip, and Happy Birthday!

Safe travels!

CONGRATULATIONS JEN! Have a great time today!

Elizabeth -- I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with your kitten adoption. That is wonderful that you have another option. Sending PD for that, and for your job search.

Andrew and Jake's school cancelled their field day today, and are doing things inside in the classrooms. They still get out at 12 today, so I'll pick them up, run some office errands and one of my own, and get them home so they can play.

We may have MORE RAIN today, but it's only 20% so I hope it stays away! Ditto for tomorrow, as there is a chance for more rain then as well. Sorry the boys' trip got cancelled but hope they enjoy their half day!

Good morning, DDA!

I need to get in the shower. Hope everybody has a great day!

Jen - Have a wonderful graduation!!:)

Morning, Elizabeth.

Deb,

I hope it's not too late, but my MIL found the recipe you were looking for in the F&WF cookbook from '05! Here it is, in the event anyone else wants to try it - sounds yummy (and not too hard)!

Flourless Chocolate Cake (serves 6)
7 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
5 eggs

Irish Whiskey Sauce
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon Irish Whiskey

1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees F. Generously
butter an 8x8 inch cake pan. Set aside.
2. Melt the chocolate and butter together and set
aside to cool.
3. Beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until
pale and fluffy. Gradually beat in the cooled
chocolate and butter.
4. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake
for 30-40 minutes or until firm to the touch.
5. Set the pan on a wire rack to cool and refrigerate
overnight.
6. To serve, slice the cake into 6 portions and serve
with the sauce.

Sauce
1. In the top of a double boiler set over simmering
water, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until they
are thick and pale in color. Set aside to cool.
2. Beat the cream until soft peaks form.
3.Fold the cream into the cooled egg yolks with the
Irish Whiskey.

Thank you. It's not at all too late. I need it for next weekend.

Have a wonderful trip, and Happy Birthday!

Safe travels!

Great posting!! Ditto for me.

Good luck to the boys on their games. I don't know How they'll do it all, I'd be exhausted.

:wizard: that the rain stays away. Congratulations to Jake on his home run :cheer2:

Good luck to them too:thumbsup2

I bought my Mom at hanging flower for her house for Mother's Day. It's become a bit of a tradition. I also bought her the Venus Breeze razor. I just got one for myself and I love it!! I know that she is hesitant to try new things, but she deserves to be pampered too :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So I thought I'd update you on the situation with Eric's grandmother. We found out yesterday that she is settled into her own apartment in Vancouver. Her brother emailed Eric this morning stating that she is fine and happy to be back with her brother and sil after almost 50 years apart. Apparently, Baba called Eric's aunt/uncle in Nashville and gave them her new address and phone #. She then called Eric's dad and told him when she was settled that she would give him the info. So obviously she is still upset w/ Eric's parents as she wouldn't give them her address.

We are also under the impression that she is upset at Eric and I as she has not contacted us. When she gets mad at someone she basically cuts off all contact with them. So while Eric understands why she left he feels hurt that she is mad at us and thought of no one other than herself when she up and left. I am most hurt by the fact that Emma will be devastated that Baba did not say goodbye to her. I think it's pretty selfish too. If she wanted to leave that's fine but she needs to realize that the way she did it was not the best way she could have handled it. It could have been a little bit more planned out.

Eric and I plan to tell Emma tomorrow night. And we will let Emma and Molly call her on Sunday. Eric wants to call her tonight and tell her how he feels.

We also figure that we will not see her again. I really find it hard to believe that she will fly out sometime this summer to see the new baby. There is no way that Eric and I can afford to fly out to Vancouver with the girls. So it is what it is.

UGH!!! We have an appointment with the state property assessor at 11am to review our property for the tax assessment and he just knocked on the door. :confused3 Eric isn't even home from work yet. I told him that our appt was at 11am and his response was well it says your husbands wants to have this done as soon as possible. Well yeah but at the time we agreed upon! :headache: Idiots, I tell you!

Jen-

Happy Graduation!!!

Tia-

Have a fun trip to California and Happy Birthday!!

Thanks again for all the 's. Just knowing I can vent here is a godsend.

I'm so glad you heard from your dr. At least you'll feel like you're doing something until you meet with her again!

:cheer2: YAY Garrett! 9-0 is pretty impressive, especially after losing to them last week. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm glad to hear that she is safe! I, too, think it was really selfish. Regardless of how she is feeling, Emma didn't do anything to deserve being treated this way!

Hugs to you all!

I always send a hanging basket of Fuschias to my mom for Mother's Day. They have a shady covered patio and she likes to have the baskets around it. They are so pretty.

BTW, I was able to find 100 Grand bars yesterday. I stopped into our grocery store to get the oranges and there they were. The only thing I didn't have was the Carefree gum. I can't wait to hear from Nicholas how his teachers like them. Alyssa saw me putting them together so I ended up having to do one for her daycare "teacher".

My grandmother was like that too. When she got mad, she just stopped talking to you. There was a family rift between her and her 2 brothers. They hadn't talked for years, and it stayed that way until the day they dies. So sad. I don't know what it is about that generation. I hope you all can find some way to heal the hurt, especially for the girls' sake.

The player appearance fees are only $20K per player for the big name guys, the plain players are $5K. So far we are having a private event at the Westin Galleria, plated dinner, custom goody bags with ball, glove, hat, TX Ranger jersey, lots of baseball cards. A few bounce houses, custom table linens and floral centerpieces. We are spending the night at the Westin (100 rooms), taking Hummer limos to the airport, and flying to Orlando. We're going to the TX vs. Tampa game, spending the night at the Poly, and coming back home. My "shopping cart" for Dick's Sporting Goods was almost $45,000!:rotfl2: Oh, wait! This isn't my project, is it? Anyway, it is MUCH harder to spend $1 million than it looks. Last time there was a loophole where you could donate leftover money to charity, but this time there isn't.:confused3 And DS isn't sure when the project is due, so I figured I better do a little research for him and print it out or we'll be up all night! I am working tonight, too, so that's not even an option!
Is it a private plane rental to FL? Private party at the stadium after the game? This should rack up more in table linens, servers, floral decorations... Individual signed baseballs for every guest? Include a movie on the big screen with popcorn and sodas...Giveaways at the end of each inning? Custom ice sculptures? Don't forget the celebrity DJ, invite a famous band to perform...private theme park breakfast the next day with characters?
